Phil Boyer, Phil Boyer first division's top scorer - how many top division scorers have we had since then, is Lambert the first.
I know it was before Boyer but how about Ron Davies first season with us. Topped the scoring charts with 37 league goals. Sir Geoff Hurst was second (29) and Jimmy Greaves third (25). Martin Chivers was the second Saints player on the list with 20.

In his second season Ron was joint top scorer with George Best Ithink, both scoring 38 (from memory).

How many milion would Big Ron be worth now with that kind of record ?

I notice also that on the BBC's Southampton site they credit Lallana with 8 points including Cup goals, whilst on the League 1 stats they only credit him with 6 goals. Rickie's 11 goals also include a League Cup goal. (Mind, I am very happy for Adam's achievements to remain under the radar as much as possible with the January window approaching.)

10 in the League for us, plus 1 for Brizzle I think actually.

I have a feeling for a fleeting moment we had a top scorer when we signed Brett Ormerod, granted all his goals came from his previous club but I'm sure they counted on the BBC site

IIRC...

Beatts was third in the Cup Final season, 1 less than Henry, 2 less than Van Nistelmoose.

Rasiak probably would have been top scorer. Think he was joint top with Earnshaw around the time he was dropped.

In the playoff season, Rasiak, Saga, BWP and Kenny all got double figures. When was the last time we had 4 players do that in a season?

Lallana and Lambert must have a fair amount of assists between them as well. In Lambert and Lallana we've got one of the most effective players and probably the most skilled player.

Such a contrast to some of the **** we where watching last season.

Lambert has 6 assists to date plus 1 in the cup

James has 2 plus 1 in the cup

Lallana, Mellis & Schneiderlin 2 each.

In total he actually has 12 I'm sure? 10 league, 1 league cup (debut to Northampton) and 1 for Brizzle,

Also hate to whizz on anyones fireworks but Grant Holt at Norwich also has 12 ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/club_stats/default.stm

Not sure why the BBC have miffed up I think perhaps they have some scorers with their league cup goals and others without them :-s
