NickG Posted 2 November, 2009 Author Posted 2 November, 2009 in fact, also joint top scorer for the country, only other player with 11 in all top four divisions is Chopra in CCC.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Have to also point out how telling it is that Lallana is on that list as well. How long before Connolly is fit enough to get enough match time to start appearing there also?
ladysaint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Phil Boyer, Phil Boyer first division's top scorer - how many top division scorers have we had since then, is Lambert the first.
Weston Saint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Phil Boyer, Phil Boyer first division's top scorer - how many top division scorers have we had since then, is Lambert the first.I know it was before Boyer but how about Ron Davies first season with us. Topped the scoring charts with 37 league goals. Sir Geoff Hurst was second (29) and Jimmy Greaves third (25). Martin Chivers was the second Saints player on the list with 20.
saints_is_the_south Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Wasn't Beattie 2nd or 3rd top goal scorer in the prem during the cup final season with about 21 goals?

In his second season Ron was joint top scorer with George Best Ithink, both scoring 38 (from memory). How many milion would Big Ron be worth now with that kind of record ?
Scummer Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Doesn't make much difference, but one of Lambert's goals was for Bristol Rovers.

Weston Saint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Kevin Keegan was top league scorer in 1981/82 with 26 whilst with Southampton
sussexsaint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Just looking at the table we've scored 25 goals in 15 games , betits been a while since we did that!
Gudz Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 This team is ticking now & Lambo is banging them in. i'm going to enjoy the rest of this season!
benjii Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Rod Wallace and MLT both got over 20 in 89/90 I think.
eelpie Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 I notice also that on the BBC's Southampton site they credit Lallana with 8 points including Cup goals, whilst on the League 1 stats they only credit him with 6 goals. Rickie's 11 goals also include a League Cup goal. (Mind, I am very happy for Adam's achievements to remain under the radar as much as possible with the January window approaching.)

sussexsaint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 I have a feeling for a fleeting moment we had a top scorer when we signed Brett Ormerod, granted all his goals came from his previous club but I'm sure they counted on the BBC site
Arizona Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 IIRC... Beatts was third in the Cup Final season, 1 less than Henry, 2 less than Van Nistelmoose. Rasiak probably would have been top scorer. Think he was joint top with Earnshaw around the time he was dropped. In the playoff season, Rasiak, Saga, BWP and Kenny all got double figures. When was the last time we had 4 players do that in a season?
Ponty Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 In the playoff season, Rasiak, Saga, BWP and Kenny all got double figures. When was the last time we had 4 players do that in a season? 2007.
Andy_Porter Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Lallana and Lambert must have a fair amount of assists between them as well. In Lambert and Lallana we've got one of the most effective players and probably the most skilled player. Such a contrast to some of the **** we where watching last season.

Lambert has 6 assists to date plus 1 in the cup James has 2 plus 1 in the cup Lallana, Mellis & Schneiderlin 2 each. Stats prior to Orient game
Stu Man Do Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 10 in the League for us, plus 1 for Brizzle I think actually. In total he actually has 12 I'm sure? 10 league, 1 league cup (debut to Northampton) and 1 for Brizzle, Also hate to whizz on anyones fireworks but Grant Holt at Norwich also has 12 ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/club_stats/default.stm Not sure why the BBC have miffed up I think perhaps they have some scorers with their league cup goals and others without them :-s
Saint_clark Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 So that's 19 goals down to Lambert so far in all comps.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Wasn't Beattie 2nd or 3rd top goal scorer in the prem during the cup final season with about 21 goals? I think so yes, wasn't he third with Henry 1st and Van Nostrelboy 3rd
