benjii Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 The whole card business is quite fiddly with webbed hands so I suspect he's not too trigger happy.
LaptopSaint Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 As has already been said, we're bound to fall flat on our arses at some point and lose to a sh1t team. But I just can't see it happening tomorrow - we look too strong at the moment. At no point during the MK game did I lose confidence that we would win - even just after their free kick went in. I'd love to find some odds for us winning ten league games in a row. Norwich at home will be tough but we have a good run coming up. Orient 0 Saints 2
trousers Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 I know the family. I kid you not, they are big Saints fans!!!!111 At least we're keeping it quiet on here so the Football League don't look into it....
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 Won't affect those of us coming into Waterloo tho - Northern line up to Tottenham Court Road & then Central to Leyton. May I suggest taking the Waterloo and City line to Bank then Central line to Leyton from there? Should gain you approximately 8 minutes more Drinking time!
harwellsaint Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 how do you remove the' if we win this one then i will belive!, had this coversation on way to st.marys last week, we win well, after being 1 down and i still think same old saints as soon as we show some form we mess it up, is this the same problem as ap says with the winning mentality yours sincerly a nervous harwellsaint
Thedelldays Posted 30 October, 2009 Author Posted 30 October, 2009 we should expect to win...we should go into every game in the frame of mind that we are winners...and dropping points is NOT ok.. pardew agrees....about time ALL the fans did
RonManager Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 Listening to the local Southend commentary on their game tonight on SaintsPlayer. Apparently some of their fans will be out with the buckets at Orient tomorrow - 'Save Our Shrimpers'.
diggers Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 HELP PLEASE; Sods law dictates that I'm stuck on a booth at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show until Tuesday! - Now, I know a lot of you will have no sympathy for my situation, but apart from registering for the feed through the OS does anyone else know how I can tune in and play out loud the game during the show? I'm not a tight ass but a lot of you US based Saints must know of a shady sight I can tune into tomorrow??........Please!!
Under Weststand Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 Probably totally over the top & excessive optimism but 0-4 Saints I've gone for. Time to really believe we've turned the corner & time to show we mean buisness!

forever a red and white Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 prediction 1-1 heard it here first
rick1976.4.38 Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 i think we will win 4-0,believe,we can do it.3,150+ behind the lads we can sing them to it,coyr
bpsaint Posted 30 October, 2009 Posted 30 October, 2009 Hmmm, seeing as we always buckle under the pressure when we take a big away following, and theres too much over-confidence in the fact we should win,i'll go for a 2-2 draw. Always a pessimist with away games as its been nearly 10 years to the day since I last saw us win one in the league,my luck really is that bad.

theyin Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 How twists of fate beset us. I live just across the water from Leyton but have to be in Southampton for family reasons this weekend. This was THE London game I really wanted to be at this season. Some things just aren't fair. 1-3 to the boys in red and white. Have a good one all those going and hopefully the capital will be witness to a south coast celebration to beat any east end knees-up. Radio Solent and a tinny or two for me on the sofa I guess. COYR
Saint_clark Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 we should expect to win...we should go into every game in the frame of mind that we are winners...and dropping points is NOT ok.. pardew agrees....about time ALL the fans did I completely agree Delldays, but you have to agree with me as well - it's hard to get rid of that worried feeling that hides in your gut, telling you not to get your hopes up.
Jack Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Very very hungover and lacking sleep. And have to be at Soton Central within the hour, more than likely with a box of lager to get me going
altoniansaints Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 LO 0 Saints 2! win win win out of bottom 4 and on the up :-)
Professor Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Its almost a shame that Saints will win this game, because that Barry Hearne has always seemed to be such a nice man. I wonder if Steve Davis is still the main striker.
Thedelldays Posted 31 October, 2009 Author Posted 31 October, 2009 I completely agree Delldays, but you have to agree with me as well - it's hard to get rid of that worried feeling that hides in your gut, telling you not to get your hopes up. no it is not hard.. for all those people telling me to stop being unrealistic you have OUR OWN MANAGER telling us that we should be winners as the players are paid to win every game.. I know we will lose a few more this season..and if we lose at home to any team, or away to say Brighton, I will not be happy...pardew will not be happy nor will he find it acceptable..BUT the usual gang of trend setters on here will have a right go at me for being unrealistic etc etc etc... the players are acting like we should win every game...about time the fans lost this AWFUL 'average' mentality that so many have and expect nothing but wins week in week out
StDunko Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Just got up, my train leaves in 30mins. Why am I this excited about Leyton Orient away in League 1? Should be a great day out, just hope the team perform like they have been in the last few games. COYR!
Draino76 Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 At least we're keeping it quiet on here so the Football League don't look into it.... Yes I'm sure the football league is scouring SWF with a fine toothcomb.
SNSUN Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Cries of "typical Saints" will reverberate through this messageboard if we get anything but a win, but IMO that'd be an unfair assessment of how far we've come. This is the new team, and if recent results are to be believed we've turned the corner and are bringing the good times back to Southampton. I truly think we have what it takes to win today. In terms of the League Table disregarding the points deduction, we're better in every way than Orient. If we truly have aspirations to plug the gap on the top 6, we NEED to win these sorts of games. Our recent run will count for nought if we can't sustain it over a long period of time. We will win today, in my mind. We're playing like the best team in the league, and I believe that we may possibly be that good. I'm hoping Hammond can shake the knock, Connolly too, but I still think we'll go on to win this. Another 3-1 would be lovely. (Though I can envisage us keeping a clean sheet.) A draw is unacceptable today - unless we pull back from 3-0 down.
ottery st mary Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 No messin Saints.....Just get on with it and come back with 3 points after a good pro like performance at 3-0. COYRS
opthomps Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 i am off to the pub now to follow todays football proceedings. I am hoping for Blackburn, Arsenal and Saints victories. I am expecting a narrow saints win. It feels so good to be 'expecting' wins now, and long may it continue. 1-2 saints
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 no it is not hard.. for all those people telling me to stop being unrealistic you have OUR OWN MANAGER telling us that we should be winners as the players are paid to win every game.. COYR!
surrey1saint Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 I am all ready ....travel club from Fleet for me. See you all at the game...COYR!! 3-0 to Saints
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Getting ready, catching the 10.30 from Didcot to Paddington .... Brandy Coffee all the way .... COYR
KK the 2nd Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Anyone know what colours we are wearing today?
Um Bongo Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Anyone know what colours we are wearing today? Assuming it will be the blue, Orient play in Red. Just leaving now. COYR. Let's have a good day.

eelpie Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Listening to the local Southend commentary on their game tonight on SaintsPlayer. Apparently some of their fans will be out with the buckets at Orient tomorrow - 'Save Our Shrimpers'. Then we should contribute. I like Southend. It would be tragic if they folded. (Not that a few quid will make much difference, but it does help morale. It did when we were in the same situation.)
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 3 points and out of the bottom 4 please. We can't expect to win every week I guess - but would be good to get out of the bottom 4 for sure.
red&white56 Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Win or lose this is going to be a great day out, at least I can expect the team to make an effort - over the past few seasons I've always been disappointed with the lack of passion, desire to win games....................... Leaving in the next 30 mins to have time for a few beers before the game. 2 - 1 to Saints COYS!!!
Gordon Mockles Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 4-0 Saints, Lambert to score 1st (155/1) or Scott McGleish to score 1st/Saints win 3-1 (170/1) En-route to London. Noticed 1 poor lad in his Saints shirt stood waiting on Platform 1 @ Central (with his bag of beers) as the London train left from Platform 2. Hope he was waiting for another train/wasn't going to the game. Feel bad for him otherwise. COYS
rick1976.4.38 Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 leaving in 30 mins, this is going to be a good day,for those who arent there today we will sing loud and proud and come away with 3 more points and out of the relegation zone.coyr
bug187 Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 I hope we stuff em. Having read through their forum it seems for some unknown reason alot of them detest saints.
SaintRobbie Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Halloween... so I expect a horror show! (.... for Orient!) Saints 3 - Orient 1
Mr Saints Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Leaving shortly, the most I have looked forward to an away game for a long time. Probably since the Pride Park play-off game. COYR!!!
SaintRobbie Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Leaving shortly, the most I have looked forward to an away game for a long time. Probably since the Pride Park play-off game. COYR!!! Which...despite the penalty shoot out result was the best game I have been to in several years to be honest!
Saint J 77 Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 I reckon it will be a tough game today, I know alot of us are expecting a big win and that is what worries me a little. I dont think its going to be a straight forward easy win. I just hope the squad dont become complacent because of recent results. That said we SHOULD beat them comfortably, my heart says a Saints win. My head says you know what Saints are like. So I just hope my hear is right and we are celebrating another 3 points come 5pm this evening.

Ironically, I'd usually agree with you, but my head is starting to tell me Saints under Pardew will win most games now. Nice to have head and heart in alignment for a change!

Nice to have head and heart in alignment for a change! so we should..we should be going into nearly every game in this league like we are going to win and think of nothing else...sick and tired of being called unrealistic or what ever...the players are now winners..time for the fans to act like it for once
ericofarabia Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4713529.Motorway_closed_after_accident/ Hope everybody gets there on time ... could reduce available beer drinking time though
Victor Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 http://www.refworld.com/referee/179/1 "I was released from a club at the age of 15 because I was not strong enough to play in adult football and at the level I intended to play at." I hope he isn't one of these referees who 'almost made it but didn't' and so strut around the field like a little Hitler showing their authority because they are bitter about not making it. I also hope the fact he has a soft spot for Saints means he'll be biased in our favour. I know it's cheating but sod it, think of all the sh!te refs and bad luck we have had recently. More likely to work against us with him trying desperately to show he ISN'T biased. As I only have one post left today, may I take this opportunity of congratulating Nigel Pearson in leading his team to the top of the Championship!
tpbury Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 Good points Delldays, why not assume we're going to win? Be arrogant and tough, chances are you'll get what you want. Unfortunately have to go to bed now (Have given up Bury for Brisbane), make sure you guys get us a result!
daveygwyatt Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 i think we will win 4-0,believe,we can do it.3,150+ behind the lads we can sing them to it,coyr If you fancy saints to score 4 or more paddy power are offering 17/2 on saints to score 4 or more today.. worth a couple of quid!!
saints-cris Posted 31 October, 2009 Posted 31 October, 2009 A nice win today and hopefully we can get rid of the TV curse this week.. espescially against brighton. Go on Saints.
