I do realise I'm running a risk of having this thread removed, however can someone answer me this....

After seeing them beat Norwich in the dying seconds due to the most random **** up and now seeing they beat Bristol 'Passwing wind' Rovers 4-0 at the memorial, why do I find my hate for them is doubling by the results?

Do I fear their the only real threat to Saints?

Is it only me?

I seriously would nearly have them on par with Pompey, I really ****ing hate them, their fans, their players and just Leeds; anyone else share this?

No, having lived near and worked in Leeds for a couple of years, and having shared my life with a Leeds supporting girlfriend for over 6 years now, I can confirm that not all Leeds fans are ****s. In fact I know as many ****ish Saints fans. The club, at board level especially, is hideous and insiduous and perhaps that skews our perception of a set of fans who stick with the team loyally despite Ken Bates' presence but on a personal level the fans are a good bunch of people. They certainly don't have a bad word to say about us and I got a lot of sympathy when we were relegated from the Prem, which happened while I was up there.

That late 60s early 70s side was one of the greatest in English football history. They reached so many finals and got so close to winning everything. Unfortunatey they were undone by horrendous fixture lists and some of the worst refereeing and lino work the world has ever seen.

They were very physical and the likes of Hunter and Jack Charlton certainly didn't take any prisoners. But old big eads description that they won it through cheating was ********. They were a class act with some tremendous talents like Sniffer Clarke and Eddie Gray. They were extremely professional and pushed the rules to their limits - but that is exactly what every other side does now. So really all they were was ahead of the game. If you watch the Chelsea Leeds FA Cup final reply at Old Trafford you'll see that they were far from being alone in the rough stuff. Chopper Harris was a thug and no one says Chelsea won the cup by cheating.

Revie was an amazing manager and the failure of the FA to acknowledge what he had acheived when he died still ****es Leeds fans off today, especially when Busby was treated very differently and ****s like Fergie get Knighted for one European cup win.

Me Dad is a huge Leeds fan so I inevitably have a soft spot for them, but I enjoy nothing more than winning at Elland Road and in recent times I've seen us play them off the park. I look forward to the next visit, where I think we'll do exactly the same.

Let Leeds beat all the teams chasing the 2nd automatic and play off places and lose to us then we can nick a play off place or even better.Leeds will win this league and can hopefully help us by doing some damage to our main competitors.I can see us nicking the 2nd automatic slot if we can win 25 games which I believe we can.Not saying we will but I think our team is talented enough to win the majority of games they play this season.

Having lived in Leeds since `84 ,i have to say the majority of people`s comments about Leeds are correct. There are some nice Leeds fans-but they are few and far between.Having been assaulted by four of them(it was four on to one) i feel qualified to speak on this subject!

It is probably something to do with the place. I have relatives who are mad keen Rugby League fans (HKR) and they matter of factly refer to the League side as "Dirty Leeds"

That's ironic, Leeds RL fans are generally well behaved as are the team TBH. The worst behaved ? Those from Hull FC and Hull KR, the two sets of fans loathe each other with a vengeance.

my memories of Leeds are mainly bad. Rasist and arrogant. The team of the early 70's were dirty and the first to really use all tricks they could to con the refs.

I have no time for them and still enjoy the Terry Curran goal to send us to Wembley

There are a few idiots who kick off at the derby games but most of it is banter and bragging rights. As a FC fan living in Rovers territory, it's quite good fun actually. My Saints shirt is the only red and white garment allowed in the house

Must say though, people in Hull don't like Leeds either. Football or Rugby teams and fans.

That's pretty damning coming from the ONLY fans in National League Rugby that had to be segregated!! To stop them randomly fighting, swearing and spitting on other supporter's kids!!! Was a Doncaster Dragons fan 2004-2006 and HKR plsayers and fans were singlehandedly trying to ruin the sport!!!

It's not difficult to hate Leeds. Apart from during their heyday under Revie when they were supported by the usual 12 year olds who no support Man U, everyone outside Leeds have always hated them. They are charmless, dour, physical and without any sophistication or style. And on top of that they now have Ken Bates. My god, what on earth is there to like?

God what a rubbish thread. One bloke telling us stuff any idiot knows about Leeds, 10 people randomly hating them and some pointless Brian Clough quotes thrown in, interesting only in that no-one gave a crap about what happened to him there between 1974 and 2006.

Don't forget people, they had a large hand in getting rid of Redknapp for us.

I agree with you mate, Leeds are not dirty any more, they've had to learn to play a bit of football to succeed. Dubia Phil could put together a dirtier team imo. What dya reckon T9? ;) Hope you're okay now btw?

In all honesty, one thing that being in the lower echelons has taught me is that if there is one team that does deserve to be hated it is those plastic Maccy D's that we whipped last week. Everyone else (teams and fans alike) down here in Div 3 (and 4 for that matter) has fought for the right to play each other, and they (MKD) have absolutely no right to walk on the same turf as us, Leeds or anyone else (I'd even go as far as to include lowly Pompey too). Leeds yes, Pompey yes, but MK Dons? a definite NO imo.

This league has more than anything else, taught me to respect other teams, even 'Dirty' Leeds.

Anyway, the first time I set foot on the hallowed turf was when Saints played Leeds back in the play-off season, I do believe that we helped send them down with that win too. Anyone else remember this:
