NickG Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Skates thro to 1/4 finals - could be getting some extra, much needed cash in. Stoke sold their full allocation for the game (not sure how many?) but even with this they only managed 11,000 crowd.

Clearly this competition is one of their lesser priorities. Ahem. A 6-6 defensive nightmare of a draw with 4 sendings off and 3 major injuries in the next round would be a bit lolly.
NickG Posted 27 October, 2009 Author Posted 27 October, 2009 what I don't understand is that other smaller clubs got bigger crowds tonight? Sunderland - not a sleeping giant but they got 28,000 Spurs - not a club famed for its great loyal fanbase like the skates got 36,000 Barnsley 20,000

At one point the commentator remarked that the crowd was a disappointing 9500+. But someone must have told him that Stoke fans were there somewhere, because he amended his total to 11,000+. What are the ticket charges for Fratton Park..? That's a poor crowd, even for League Cup action.
