Pancake Posted 27 October, 2009 Share Posted 27 October, 2009 ...like a county for example, how can you describe it? For example, I would be happy to day something or someone from Cornwall is Cornish; a person from Devon is Devonian; someone from Kent could be Kentish. What terms can be used for the other counties though? And major cities too. Sotonian work well, IMHO, for Southamptoners...

Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 27 October, 2009 Share Posted 27 October, 2009 Circumventing the swear filter? Circumventing would be where the whole word was in clear text. Still, this is the Lounge so I'll defer. Devonian Bristolian Liverpudlian Mancunian Glaswegian Londoner Lancastrian Cumbrian bored now...
Kadeem Hardison Posted 27 October, 2009 Share Posted 27 October, 2009 Actually it depends on what side of the Medway as to whether you are Kentish man or a man of Kent (Kentish maiden or maid of Kent for women). Novacastrian is a nice one. Portmuthian is also a pleasanter sounding word.
