Fitzhugh Fella Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Wonder who he's looking at? 5 Saints managers (ex and present) at the game. Dave Jones Harry Redknapp John Gorman Nigel Pearson Alan Pardew plus Jim Magilton a veritable smorgasbord, espcially with Pearce, Rasiak, Mills and Oakley on display.
S-Clarke Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Oldknow and i think(?) Wilkins was there too (oddly, oldknow was next to Tony adams), it panned to them right at the start. ..and btw, don't reading remind you of us last season? so many similarities in results/style of play.

Wasn't AO with Adams.
shurlock Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 sealing the deal for an extension to Antonio's loan? you can only hope...
RonManager Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Love the semi-hysterical Reading radio commentary on SaintsPlayer.
St Will Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 It looked like Pardew was writing notes on something. Maybe he's there looking at players?
Colinjb Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 sealing the deal for an extension to Antonio's loan? you can only hope... Or maybe agreeing a fee.
DT Posted 26 October, 2009 Author Posted 26 October, 2009 Hope he's not there to take over from Rogers..
St Will Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Hope he's not there to take over from Rogers.. Please don't say things like that
Smirking_Saint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 sealing the deal for an extension to Antonio's loan? you can only hope... I was going to say that, what with oldknow there it is a concievable option ?? His 1 month loan must be up now or nearly anyways.
DT Posted 26 October, 2009 Author Posted 26 October, 2009 Why would they need to do that on matchday?
dune Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Hope he's not there to take over from Rogers.. Not a prayer. Alan Pardew will not be leaving us any time soon.
Smirking_Saint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Hope he's not there to take over from Rogers.. Madejski cannot afford to sack him apparently, or so radio berkshire believes
DT Posted 26 October, 2009 Author Posted 26 October, 2009 Bet Fryatt's a target for one of those managers.
stevegrant Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Madejski cannot afford to sack him apparently, or so radio berkshire believes And there's not a cat in hell's chance Reading would have Pardew back after he walked out on them to go to West Ham.
DT Posted 26 October, 2009 Author Posted 26 October, 2009 Not a prayer. Alan Pardew will not be leaving us any time soon. Because?
Winnersaint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Why is it ****ing down at Madejski and not in Winnersh?
Smirking_Saint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 And there's not a cat in hell's chance Reading would have Pardew back after he walked out on them to go to West Ham. Plus, why would he want to go to reading ?? We are clearly a team on the up, he has made us ATM a force in this division, has an executive team behind him that are willing to back him and from what we are led to believe patience. A bigger fan base, better facilities ?? Perhaps i am just biased ??
Matthew Le God Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Why is it ****ing down at Madejski and not in Winnersh? Because rain has to stop and start at some point.

Smirking_Saint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 reading this year remind me a lot of us last year. Crap up front, never look like scoring. Leaky at the back. Lacking confidence. Chairman skint. The only difference is that they are not heading for admin. Strange, i said at the end of last season that reading have had their day and if they are not careful they will drop back into league 1. You could see they would lose their better players once Coppell had moved on. They are in the sh*te. On another note, if pards and the team are there scouting (though i would imagine it was about antonio tbh) then the only real player i would be looking at (reading wise) would be Kebe. What is liam rosenior doing these days ?
LeBenali Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Have always been semi-linked with Jay Tabb, and he was made available for loan a few weeks back. Played out of position at right back though. Couldn't have been Gradel either, wasn't in the Leicester 18 for whatever reason.
Mr Saints Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Reading are Saints last year. No money, young squad, pretty football with no end product and an inexperienced manager.
St Will Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Couldn't have been Gradel either, wasn't in the Leicester 18 for whatever reason. Isn't he on loan at Leeds?

VectisSaint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Why is it ****ing down at Madejski and not in Winnersh? It was probably raining at Elm Park though 2 words you never thought you would hear in the same sentence: "Rasiak" and "pounce". Well I heard it tonight on Sky.

Tac-tics Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 I wonder if he's looking Howard as a back up to Lambert, I doubt it but maybe. Gradel is on loan to Leeds, I seriously doubt he was there to tie up Antonio deal, just is'nt done like that. Karacan or Long maybe?

eelpie Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Wonder who he's looking at? I hope Reading aren't looking at Pardew
Dark Munster Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Reading 0 Leicester 1 So the "boot boy" has got Leicester up to 5th, 3 points behind first place. I wonder how high he'll have to go before the professor and other Lowe luvvies finally admit that he actually is a good manager, and that the duckhunter fucked up by getting rid of him and replacing him with the two clowns?

Let's move on. That's in the past. We now have a very good manager. Well done to Pearson for doing a good job though.
Crab Lungs Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 My heart skipped a beat when I saw Adams and Oldknow together... How close did we go to blowing our own brains out with Adams?
Gigersaint Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Reading are Saints last year. No money, young squad, pretty football with no end product and an inexperienced manager. Rasiak must be a glutton for punishment with things looking so familiar for him at the moment. #-o

Holloway is doing something very similar with far less. He is apparently 'crap'
Master Bates Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Long is sh*t On the contrary, Sean Long is a legend.

TBF, pearson has shown his quality and pedigree since leaving us and has turned himself into a very good manager. Now, before i go any further i in no way supported the old regime so lets get that clear. And i was also a little surprised to see him leave, especially when we brought in tweedle dee and tweedle dum. However, Pearson did not really have enough time here to warrant cult status, he did ok, he did what many other coaches would have done, kept it simple and tried to stop us leaking goals. He kept us up yes, but only just. The fickleness of some of us lot at times makes me laugh, if we had not been so lucky against sheff Utd what would you all have said ?? If he had got leicster relegated from league 1 ? What would be being said now ?? Fair play to him, he has proved to be a very astute signing for the foxes however it is in the past, and looking at how pards has addressed this challenge it is hard to fathom that pearson would have done any better.
Huntingdon Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Pardew is renowned for watching lots of games, building a strong knowledge of teams, formations and players He may not have been actually scouting anybody Don't forget, Pards admits himself that Antonio was a player he was impressed with when watching Reading's reserves

Don't be silly. Pearson inherited a Prem quality squad when he took over at Leicester. If you have a good squad, the manager is irrelevant, you should win most of the games you play. Winning the CCC is the absolute minimum you'd expect from any manager at that club. I'll sh*t myself laughing if Reading go down BTW.
