The muppet show is great for just random 'guff' Main board is ok,but you can get bogged down in petty squabbles. The Arts is a nice escape sometimes.

The 'Blue Stocking Brigade' were in fact born up the road in Newbury, a high-brow women's discussion group' They acquired the name due to one popular guest speaker not being able to afford the required black silk stockings which were 'de rigueur' at the time in thoise circles. He was permitted to wear his grubby old blue wortsed (sp) ones. The house where they used to meet is that girl's school just south of the town. hth ff

The Lounge is the home for the club's resident racists, lefty tree-huggers, 9/11 truthers (a number of odd-mods included), moon-landing deniers, ultra-loony nationalists living in New Orleans (wrong Saints, surely), and smugly glib submariners. So yes, more interesting - sort of like a human zoo of bonkers ideas, put forward with not a shred of self-doubt. An anthropologist would have a field day - let alone a psychotherapist.

There can be an interesting mix on here in the week. And more often than not, someone will start a thread and it will last for the week.

And another thing, nothing on here ever gets moved to the main board from here, occaionally soemthing gets promoted to TMS (that's 'The Muppet Show' FF) though. You won't find two people starting the same thread in a mad rush to be the first to tell and people know there place. I do sense that there are more pedants in here though.

The lounge is good, i enjoy the debates and often the information that gets posted is very intuitive. The muppet show, i do enjoy the muppet show, though it could be better IMO. No offence Mods but at time i think you stop the banter a little too quickly on their, IMO people know what to expect when they venture into that domain. FWIW i believe the whole place would be better without Saint_Stevo

The reason the Lounge is more interesting is at least partly because the most interesting thing about Saints right now is our collective glee at Pompey's imminent demise. (When was the last time a thread hit 3000 posts?! You have to go back to the epic takeover threads to find a count that high). That old saying about history being repeated first as tragedy (us), then as farce (them), has never been truer.

So for the time being I'll stick with what I have and keep saving and keep an eye out for a bargain. TBH I am a few thousand short of my ideal choice and I'm worried you've turned me into a badge snob JB!

Besides that then there's some interesting stuff in the Lounge, the Takeover thread being a good example with loads of info and some decent input from those down the road.
