Darren and yourself have argued in the past because he believed rightly or wrongly that you were making provocative comments about his mother and her illness. You know that he still thinks that and he has asked you not to bring the subject up. You then create your post above mentioning his mother. However sincerely you meant the comment you must surely realise that it isn't going to go down well. Whether you meant it as an insult or not is not really the issue but you know it's going to cause friction therefore maybe it would be best if it was removed.

 

The problem is with Daren and if he is not big enough to recognise a genuine question and concern for his absence knowing his circumstances then more fool him and everyone else. I am not in the business of gloating or seeking captial out of the unfortunate circumstances of others and I take extreme offence to that suggestion. The mere fact you question it as an insult is somewhat provocative in itself and the real issue is that you are trying to dissuade me from posting a reasonable question.

Good night Hypo - remember I have not resorted to name calling or insults and posting for me is pointless if it's solely to curry favour and win a popularity contest. My purpose is to offer my opinion and improve my knowledge - end off. If my question is not viewed as genuine whose fault is that really? Would I've asked it if a thread about missing posters hadn't been started? No probably not but it got me thinking so does that make Phil the provacative one for planting the seeds in our collective pschyes to start with?

He was, and he still is, and the mods let him get away with time after time. One would think that the beast held some sort of sway on here!!!!, IMO, he causes far to many argumements/reactions, and is responsible for many threads being locked......in short Numpty....why??????....Mods why?????

Snowballs2 was a retired accountant who did live locally and then moved north to be with / near his daughter in the Chester area. Unfortunately, he developed a brain tumour and that could be witnessed as the quality and length of his posts diminished. I think it's fair to say we had a healthy disregard for eachother apart from one person involved in Saints recent past and we struck up a friendship via pms for a while prior to his illness as a result.

 

Funny enough he had a link with Um Pahars as UP's dad was one of his old number crunchers if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, I don't have the pms now but Snowballs2 had UP's card well marked.

 

Forums are about opinions and not some cosy club where posters can consider themselves immune from rule breaking provided they always tow the populist line or have a well known profile. I enjoy reading the views of everyone apart from the sanctimonious few whose posts tell us more about their own jet set lives or that their views are backed by people inside the club. Perhaps UP left because with the new regime he simply became a number like the rest of us.

 

What happened to Daren Wheeler? I hope his absence doesn't mean his Mum has passed away?

 

Just a line on Daren. He posted a picture of his dear Mum on Facebook last week and, from the picture and words, I'd hazard a guess that they both seem well.

 

**EDIT** I have, until reading further on this thread, been totally unaware of any contretemps between 19C & Daren. I was also unaware of Daren's Mother being ill. You know, if (and I do sincerely mean if) 19C's comment was intended to be inflammatory then I'd think that was a damn poor show.

 

However, I do think that 19C was, in this instance, being genuine.

 

A year ago my Mum was diagnosed with Small Cell Cancer in her right lung. By January it had been shrunk and there was no evidence of any spread.

 

Last week, at a regular check, they noticed it has started again. Mum is up for a CT scan this week but, more tellingly, she is complaining (exactly! whoever heard their Mum complain?) of pain in her left chest and under her left arm. I am filled with dread and fear for my Mum.

 

Attack me all you like but, as with all of us, attack my Mum then I'll want to get up close and personal with you.

So, in summary, this place is rubbish because there are no proper disagreements now as whoever doesn't agree gets banned, which is ruining the place. The mods should stop banning people who disagree.

 

Also Nineteen Canteen causes disagreements and should be banned because he doesn't agree with everyone else and this is too inflammatory. The mods should ban people who disagree.

Thanks for the update ESB and despite my differences with Daren in the past when a poster goes missing for a few weeks you do tend to think it's the worse sort of news when you are aware of their circumstances. If people genuinely think I would 'get a rise out of any poster' deliberately knowing their circumstances then I'm afraid they don't know me at all well.

 

I sincerely hope the scan gives your Mum and yourself some good news this week and can only try and appreciate those feelings of fear and dread you are experiencing.

Hey listen, I wouldn't have said a word, but it seems on every thread he is playing victim and crying like a baby, and it's obvious he's aiming it all at me. I can count 3 threads now where he's made out he can't post because he gets picked on, which isn't even true.
