TopGun Posted 11 September, 2008 Share Posted 11 September, 2008 Just imagine the outcry if, God forbid, a British actor said he would have been a Confederate!

Nope, can't see a problem with that view. Edited 11 September, 2008 by Hacienda

revolution saint Posted 11 September, 2008 Share Posted 11 September, 2008 It's either a pathetic attempt to get publicity for a film disowned by the author of the book it's based on or an incredibly naive view by a young actress with little sense. Irish Americans bloody annoy me anyway - they're not Irish...they're American and should stop claiming they're anything but that. That stands for anyone with American citizenship.....oh no, I sound like Norman Tebbitt! Here's a question though....why are there no English Americans? They seem to have every other nation American but not English?
saint boggy Posted 11 September, 2008 Share Posted 11 September, 2008 You don't see the problem is saying how you would have bee hapy to join a terrorist organisation who were quite happy to place bombs in rubbish bins in Warrington and kill children? Nope, can't see a problem with that view. did i say i agreed with her???????? NO!!!! all i'm saying is that if thru her, presumably reasearched, role in this film she spoke with members of and sympathised with aspects of what the IRA were trying to achieve, then surely she has the right to say so. i have highlighted the word 'aspects' because i wanted to explain that by that, i meant the motivation behind their campaign, not the violence and bloodshed that they used to promote their organisation.. and as for this comment 'airing' on the anniversary of the world's biggest single terrorist attack, let's not forget that the US government had been "more than hospitable" to the leaders of the IRA , Gerry Adams and co for many many years prior to 9/11!!!! it's only when terrorism landed on the doorstep of the US 7 years ago that ,all of a sudden, the world is fighting a "War On Terror!"..........was Bill Clinton and his predecessors fighting a war on terror whilst wining and dining Gerry Adams................i doubt it!!
