Berkeley Saint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 me too ... http://www.forestgreenroversfc.com/news/showItem.asp?id=612
Berkeley Saint Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Three nil at Full Time Header by Saga from Lee Holmes corner and lob by Lee Holmes... Crowd of 71 ! including Jason Dodd and about a dozen Saints fans. No real outstanding performances. Oscar Gobern looked quite assured on the ball, and Tom Dunford looks promising. Kayne McLaggon looks likes he needs some more games to get back his touch. Bart was OK, but could have stuffed up at any moment - especially when it got wet.
johnsey Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 Stayed on after the game watching the warm down, my little lad waving his shirt at the players who looked straight through him bit disappointed to be honest left him feeling a bit empty when we left poor little fella.
benjii Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 I wonder how many players who played in the last World Cup have played in a reserve match at Forest Green Rovers lately?

That's a shame. You'd like to hope they'd show some aprecciation.

StInky Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/ReservesNews/0,,10280~1838294,00.html Unusually informative report. Great to read that we have so many good prospects coming up through the Academy.
Marsdinho Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Is it the players fault, or the parents for raising their childs expectations...
danny91973 Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Gobern looked assured, Perry encouraged the youngsters and was solid, couldnt help noticing that no one wanted to pass to Saga, especially in the first half. Bart didnt shut up throughout the whole game. Must have been bored !!

That is a shame. My daughter (5 yo) hasn't seen Saints yet but her first experience of a football match was when England U19 played here early last year. Crowd of around 5 000, 4 of us cheering on England. She and I spent the entire 2nd half holding one end each of an England flag and cheering (despite the fact England were playing Belarus U19 and she is half Belarussian). At the end of the match the entire team came over to clap us and one player (Kerry Chandler of Sunderland if I remember correctly) even gave her his shirt. On subject, good to hear the lads got a decent result and happy to hear Oscar played well.
dellgirl Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 I think Saga is a thoroughly nice man I wish things were going better for him and very pleased Oscar had a good match, hoping for a good future for him with us.
johnsey Posted 27 October, 2009 Posted 27 October, 2009 Is it the players fault, or the parents for raising their childs expectations... Don't know what this means but presume its aimed at me. Please clarify what you mean as I am at a loss to understand what I raised his hopes for.
