thorpie the sinner Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Connolly taken to hospital, nothing serious I hope!!!
S-Clarke Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 x-ray to his elbow apparently, injured in the match (not sure how tbh?)
musesaint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 He was fantastic today I really hope he stays fit ...massive asset if he does
Iowsaintsfan Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 x-ray to his elbow apparently, injured in the match (not sure how tbh?) Who jumped on him celebrating then
NickG Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Pardew said he apologised to him after game for his poor performance!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Pardew said he apologised to him after game for his poor performance! Thought Pardew did ok today? bit odd if he's apologising to his own players?
OldNick Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Thought Pardew did ok today? bit odd if he's apologising to his own players? No Connoly apologised to AP
NickG Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Thought Pardew did ok today? bit odd if he's apologising to his own players? Pardew is doing great - nothing to apologies for!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 No Connoly apologised to AP why would connoly apologise on APs behalf? whole thing seems a little odd?
OldNick Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 why would connoly apologise on APs behalf? whole thing seems a little odd? you are intentionally trying not to understand I assume, ho ho ho
OldNick Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 That cant be from a Scot as it has presents under the tree to give away.....only kidding
Arizona Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Scottish Xmas trees have loads of presents under them. Your bike, your TV, your X-Box...
Glasgow_Saint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 That cant be from a Scot as it has presents under the tree to give away.....only kidding Racial! You're not nick griffin are you? took the name nickh as NickG was taken?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Scottish Xmas trees have loads of presents under them. Your bike, your TV, your X-Box... You're thinking of Scouse!
NickG Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 back on thread... thought he looked sharp and intelligent with his runs - will score a hatful if he stays fit. shows his standards if he apologises to manager for that performance
OldNick Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Racial! You're not nick griffin are you? took the name nickh as NickG was taken? No my mother and grandmother are/were scottish......so I stand by it Lol, no Im not Nick Griffin as some people like him on here
Bourno Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 back on thread... thought he looked sharp and intelligent with his runs - will score a hatful if he stays fit. shows his standards if he apologises to manager for that performance I thought he was excellent, a very intelligent player and surprisingly quick, he had nothing to apologise for.
Arizona Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 You're thinking of Scouse! I lived in Prestwick for nearly a year and I've seen enough of Clydebank, Motherwell and Paisley to think otherwise.
BadgerBadger Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Connolly won a few headers against players twice his height - he looks a class act at this level, wrap him in cotton wool.
The9 Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Pardew said he apologised to him after game for his poor performance! I can see why he would, didn't get much going his way until the last kick of the game, but his persistence paid off, and his introduction injected the urgency of play we lacked in the first half. Nice to have a squad where we can improve the performance with substitutions.
paulwantsapint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Glad to hear a player apologising to manager for performance after scoring in a winning team just shows the standards that DC sets for himself
Joesaint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Cant be too bad can it? otherwise he would be in real pain and off!! I bet its a bruse (or well hope) COYR
del boy Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Thought he looked a little (understandably) rusty tbh. But he has that great strikers instinct to be in the right place at the right time. Once he's completely match fit and up to speed he'll be awesome with Lambert.
ottery st mary Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 (edited) Hopefully only bruising....When fully match fit....almost there. Staying fit...This guy will be the equal of a big signing...ala Keegan..playing wise...You get my drift. No transfer etc loads of goals to come. ML...NC...AP and team of staff and the squad...VERY WELL DONE... COYRs. Edited 24 October, 2009 by ottery st mary spellin
Stanley Saint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 He looked very sharp in his running but his touch let him down a couple of times. He's going to be fantastic though - you could see him and Lambert start to find each other and run off each other. They could be a great partnership.

beatlesaint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Cant be too bad can it? otherwise he would be in real pain and off!! I bet its a bruse (or well hope) COYR Well he certainly wouldnt have been able to carry on if it had been a break.....i would guess at brusing........besides you dont run and score with your arm do you ???
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Thought he looked a little (understandably) rusty tbh. But he has that great strikers instinct to be in the right place at the right time. Once he's completely match fit and up to speed he'll be awesome with Lambert. Rusty ? - the way he took his goal looked pretty sharp to me , if there's more to come then I can't wait . Thinking back on how we started the season with the ineffectual Paterson and Saganowski up front we've come a heck of a long way in a very short time .
Gemmel Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 why would connoly apologise on APs behalf? whole thing seems a little odd? Not at all. Connoly's first touch (First three times) was shocking. He knows / we know he is better than that.

Bailey Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Connolly made some clever runs today and looked very lively. His first-touch was a little off but that's understandable considering he's been out for the best part of a year. Really hope this x-ray is just a precaution and that he keeps himself fit. He could prove to be a key player for us over the course of this season. I can't help but compare Lambert and Connolly to a poor man's version of Beattie and Phillips!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 25 October, 2009 Posted 25 October, 2009 Bloody Connolly - he cost me £35 today scoring that goal (had £5 on 2-1). Never mind, it was worth it to see another point on Saints GD.
Gingeletiss Posted 25 October, 2009 Posted 25 October, 2009 ok you got me...... david in sweden Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 What an "exceptional " example he was to all those young fans who wanted to be like the World Footballer of the Year, or whatever they called him then..and to do this is a World Cup match screened everywhere aound the Globe. Yes ...he had some sort of talent, but to me... he was just a cheat and this picture proved it.!
OldNick Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 I can't help but compare Lambert and Connolly to a poor man's version of Beattie and Phillips!that is a very poor example. BT and Phillips did nothing together. Lambert has a better footballing brain than BT
ottery st mary Posted 26 October, 2009 Posted 26 October, 2009 When fully match fit and staying free of injury..Connolly is going to be a real big asset to our side. DC is a class striker and at this level and CCC next season will score many a goal for the mighty Saints. Lambert and Connolly will be our Reeves and O'Brien....our Boyer and McDougall etc etc.
