I was watching SSN and said it'd be typical Saints for us to draw in the last seconds.

Sure enough Geff Stelling says there's a late late goal at St Marys. What a relief it was us that scored!!!

Fantastic and this sets us up nicely to play at Orient who lost 4-0 at Huddersfield today.

Good grief. My confidence is growing that we're going to win games. There's still nervousness but I haven't seen us in person to know if the final ten minutes of games are full of fear or confidence. Great result.

The other inspired half-time substitution was taking off Saints commentary and bring on MK Dons commentary. Much more entertaining, more partisan support of Saints than we had from Merrington and the quality was much better and didn't drop out every few words.

Yes but if he had played 4 4 2 at the start what would the score have been.

I dont think the subs were inspired they were obvious as most of the posters on here were saying

So you would have changed a winning team and formation just for the sake of going 442? I'm so glad you aren't the manager.

I still can't believe some on here had the razors out at half time with doom and gloom, it just shows how damaged we have become after so many years of dross.

That'll be the same ones calling for AP's head two weeks ago......the same one's claiming we would be going down again this season.......I give you 'our yoof'

For the first time for a very long time I was confident we would win when 0-1 down at HT, and confident that we not let it slip when we got to 2-1.

Thanks AP, Nicole and Marcus for rebuilding our club.

It's quite amazing to think where we are now compared to 12, even 6 months ago. Whilst we're not there yet the whole feeling all around the Club is quite incredible from the depths we reached.

Surprisingly we do have something to thank the previous regime for and that is creating a position where we have the current owners. Long may it continue. :)

You do make a good point about changing winning teams but I just dont like playing 4 5 1 at home

Just want to keep on winning

4 5 1 is Ok away probably

By the way Sir Alf changed a winning team in 1966 to make an even better team

So what you're saying is... thanks for leaving. I'll go along with that. :D

Delighted with this result. Last time Saints played a team in the top 3 they lost at home, but this result against a good MK Dons side showed how far the team has progressed since Pardew came to the club.

Well done lads

We should be out of the relegation next week and then anything can happen

Just back from the game. Most fun I've had at St. Mary's for a long time. Mk Dons were such a negative spoiling team and we didn't need 3 cm's in the first half-but Ap changed it around brilliantly with the early subs and change of gameplan. We absolutely tore them apart second half, they had one shot on target the whole match and that was from a dodgy free-kick. If they're the 3rd best team in the league, the playoffs are definitely a possibility. Trotman my MOTM

Great result & the MK Dons commentators were really singing our praises the best team they'd seen all season. Does really seem tonight as though we've finally turned the corner, that was a big result & a big performance coming back from a mugging in the first half, against a good top of the table side. We now know we can live with anyone in this league.

Right. A few weeks ago the bloke was a tactical idiot without a clue how to change a game. He will be again next time we lose and his substitutions have no effect.

Regardless, well happy again today. Calling all statos - when was the last time we recorded consecutive 3 - 1 victories with the same 3 scorers scoring in the same order and with the scorer of the third playing in his debut and then his second ever game for the club?

I think part of the reason for 4-5-1 was that even AP still wasn't sure how good his team is.

Now he's found out that we can comprehensively outplay a top 3 side with a more aggressive formation I think we'll see it more. At home and away.

I particularly like all the options we have for changing things around, and the fact that AP seems to have a good intuition for making those changes. Haven't seen that in ages.

POWER a word not used to describe Saints in many a year.

We out muscled and out played the Dons.

Lots of good professional, another word not used to describe the club in the last few years, performances

My MOM was Antonio we came on and ran Lewington ragged, pace and more POWER

Just back and I really enjoyed that. Best game I have seen for a long time. We thoroughly outplayed one of the best teams in this league.

And as a bonus I have witnessed a miracle - the reincarnation of George Lawrence!!!

Those with memories long enough will understand.

That was a fantastic test for us today, it was a chance to see how far we’ve come and how we can match up against the better sides in this league....and we passed it with flying colours.

The first half was dominated by us in terms of possession; I didn't think we tested their keeper enough though. Their goal was a good free kick (it was dubious mind...and against the run of play), but I still felt we would win.

We came out in the 2nd half a little sloppy...but AP made 2 v quick changes which changed the game. Antonio was direct and strong - complete opposite of Papa who had an absolute shocker today! He really did...

The entire complexion of the game changed as Antonio kept running at them, going for headers and a lot of the time beating their full back - mainly just down to sheer strength - he's a bloody ox and very deceptive...as he doesn't look that fast, but once he gets going...

Our equaliser was a brilliantly worked goal, Morgan (who looks a different player for us now) spotted Antonio out wide right in space...sprayed a lovely ball to him and he cut it back to James who curled a lovely ball towards the back post - hammond made a lovely run to meet it.

After that, we never looked back - continuously pouring forward and through sheer determination from Antonio, we on a free kick out of nothing. Again...james played a nice ball which was cleverly dummied for Lambo and he slammed it into the goal - it was a brilliant finish.

We professionally closed the game out after that- none of this frantic hoofing or dropping deep and panicking - we just kept to our game and pressured them right to the 94th min.

Their ginger player, who I thought was one of their better players, then played a shocking ball to no one other than Connolly - who showed the composure you expect to see from a player of his calibre.

Game over - never in doubt once we got into the lead - and I must say this team is one of the best we have had in a long time, not just in terms of quality...but a sheer determination, sprit and a will to win.

The MK Dons are one of the best teams in L1, but in all departments we were just better than them today, stronger, sharper and faster- that's not down to them having a bad day, it's just down to us having more quality.

Watch out the top 6 is all I can say. We’re on our way...
