Saint Fan CaM Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Blimey - still no build up thread to post on! Oh well, I'll do the duties again. Really looking forward to this one - mainly to see if we can mix it with another in-form team and come away convincing winners. I'm feeling either 2-1 Saints or perhaps 2-2 (prediction league score is 2-1). Would love us to hammer the Dons 4 or 5 nil though. COYS!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Reckon we'lkl do 'em, they are a good team but we will win 2-1. Lambert and Hammond to score.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 on prediction league ive us for a 2-1 win.dont see it being a problem, they are doing well under ince but ap has us on the upward path, coyr
Gigersaint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 I'm hoping we can turn them over, predicting a 2-1 win for Saints, Lambert on scoresheet again with MK Dons getting one late on.
Toomer Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 I think this could be a game of twist and turns with to win 3-2.
Chris Larkin Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 1-0, just to be original. Dan Harding to score. COYR.
altoniansaints Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 i think it will be 2-1 to us, lambert first half, they equalize early in the 2nd half the connolly to score the winner late on :-)
brianoneils slidingtackle Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 ive giving up predicting scores for a while, Im never right :-(
trousers Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 We gotta start becoming one of those teams in the lower leagues where winning becomes a habbit and very regular. We're on the brink of such a position now. A draw or loss today would be hugely disappointing (he said stating the obvious!) Saints to win 2-1 COYR!!!
trousers Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 ive giving up predicting scores for a while, Im never right :-( Do us a favour and predict a Dons win.....please!
qwertySFC Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 I think we will be on fire today , 4 - 0 Lambo and Connolly up front on SMS debut , after seeing how much it meant to him at Oldham , Im sure he will be itching to bang a few in today COYR
CB Saint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Dons are a good side so... Optimistic version On the back of recent success, everything clicks and we destroy the Dons 3 - 0 wondering how we didn't score 8 or 9. Realistic version 1 - 0 to Saints. We score early and then cling on in the second half by the skin of our teeth. I will take either.
Saint Bones Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Going for a 3-2 win to Saints. End to end stuff with 'someone' in the Saints team hitting goal of the season. Must make St Mary's a fortress again. 3 Points tonight will surely show our credentials as a very competative team in this league.
Andy_Porter Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 I haven't been looking forward to a home game this much for a very long time. 2-0 Lambert and James.
Tony F Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 My "match-going buddy" has just told me he can't come so I have two tickets for todays match (Kingsland North) but just the one derriere to plant. PM me if you are ticketless but wanna go. If i get swamped I don't guarantee to reply to all PMs....
Tony F Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Do we still do PMs on this Forum or am I displaying my numpty-ness and how out-of-date I am?
Thedelldays Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Do we still do PMs on this Forum or am I displaying my numpty-ness and how out-of-date I am? you need to be a full user to use PMs these days.. IE, pay £5 for the year
Poshie72 Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 1st match of theseason for me.. cant wait. COYR!
Thedelldays Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Slight flaw in my plan then.... this is your last post of the day too...
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Got a good feeling about this one. I really believe we have turned the corner. If we don't win, I still think we'll put in a decent shift. Fingers crossed.
Tac-tics Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Another convincing performance capped with one of those goals where we fall asleep at the back and worry we could have a draw on our hands. 3-1 Saints
benjii Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 4-1. Easy. Having said that, the weather is a bit grim so it could be difficult to play nice footy today. Still think we'll win though.
shurlock Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 A bit wary about their pace - Trotman and Jaidi manhandling ain't going to get us very far. Looking forward to today - think its great footballing weather (provided it doesn't p iss down too much). Air in the lungs, box-to-box action hopefully guaranteed - none of this lethargic, stop-for-a-swill-of-lucozade-every-5mins malarkey.
Um Bongo Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 4-1. Easy. Having said that, the weather is a bit grim so it could be difficult to play nice footy today. Still think we'll win though. Will be blue sky by the time we kick off.
sad saints fan Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Really looking forward to today, especially as I am being chauffeur driven to the match,Thanks Cam. win for Saints coming up but not by much.
Thedelldays Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 lets be honest...we should be winning ALL our home games with the team/set up we have.. a draw would not be the end of the world but a loss we be bad.. 3-1 saints
Saint_Mabes Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 I'm going for 2-1, lallana and lambert to score BUT... Can anyone please confirm that Lallana is likely to play?? On BBC he's listed as doubtful, but he's quoted on the OS talking about the game. Don't wanna put a bet on and see he's out! What do u reckon?
SuperMikey Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Agree with what TDD said about winning our homes games, but don't forget that MK Dons are a team in form and confidence is high in their team. I think it'll be a scrappy game, but we'll scrape it 2-1 in the end. We really need to watch Jermaine Easter though, because he's bloody quick, and could worry Jaidi and Trotters at the back.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 24 October, 2009 Author Posted 24 October, 2009 Really looking forward to today, especially as I am being chauffeur driven to the match,Thanks Cam. win for Saints coming up but not by much. You'll have to be on your best behaviour mate - the missus will be in the car with us! See you later - hopefully not too wet.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 The weather reminds me of Southend away, and we didn't have a problem playing in that... Really looking forward to later.
Petersfield Saint Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 How's the weather in Southampton? It's been p***ing down hard here for hours - no chance of game being called off I hope?!!
bigchrisy Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Jermaine easter will rip JAIDI apart but...........4-2 to saints is my prediction.
Wes Tender Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 It seems that where we should gain encouragement is Ince saying that MK Dons need to start scoring through other team members and not just Jermaine Easter. It therefore makes it easy for us tactically to attempt to keep him quiet, as we can clearly identify their main scoring threat. I suspect that our current formation with Wotton acting as a sweeper in front of the back four might with luck snuff out that threat. On the other hand, IMO Ince has a bit of a headache with us not having any problem with scorers throughout the team. He might assign somebody to try and tie up Lambert, only for Lallana, Papa or Harding to score from open play, or one of our big defenders to score from a set-piece. And if Connolly is playing too at some stage, it could be that we have too much firepower for them. MK Dons haven't let in many goals recently, but what would they do if they let in a couple early on? It will probably be a dour, tight game with little between us, but it is possible that we could run amok, as MK Dons have not been playing the in-form top teams so far and we are becoming one of those teams ourselves. This being Saints, I don't rule out the possibility of the wheels falling off and them hammering us. But with each passing week, the confidence grows that we are less likely to do that.
BallBoy Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 Need to get a good start. I don't want to be chasing this one. If we win today then I will truly believe that we have turned the corner. We have had an excellent mini run but, so far, that's all it is and we are still in the relegation zone. Let's not get carried away with ourselves. I believe we have an excellent squad for this league but, ultimatley, the 10 points and a bad start will mean mid table is the best we are likely to do.
Wes Tender Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 still p*ssing down Here at West End, there is a breeze and a little drizzle. Not too much to concern us about the match being postponed IMO. It looks as if it could have stopped and brightened up in the next four hours if anything.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 24 October, 2009 Author Posted 24 October, 2009 I think AP might actually go with the 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation again as a precaution. As much as I want to see Connolly up front with Lambert, I still think he will come off the bench. (PS: Connolly is scoring great for me on FIFA08 in CCC at the moment alongside Lopez - about to be promoted as champs).

It looks as if it could have stopped and brightened up in the next four hours if anything. Was 32C here yesterday, gentle onshore breeze, great day to go out on a 36ft Catamaran for a chill out day... (But you didn't really want to know that with the clocks going back & all ) Not yet got over the "It's Saints so something will go wrong" mindset yet. Everything points to a good game, pretty much settled side on a run and with confidence and a good crowd, so should be expecting to win this one. Hope we do and I can move into arrogantly confident mode for next week! Worried about an all "over them and stupid late goal" game resulting in a loss or a draw. I shouldn't, but I still do, takes a while to get 6 years of stereotyping out the system
Rut Posted 24 October, 2009 Posted 24 October, 2009 After Liverpool come 'MK Dons' as my most hated team. I quote their name as they shouldn't even be a team. So come on Saints!!! Do the f******. I think we will win well. 4-0 to Saints.
