Mixed feelings about the FA Cup this year.

Would love to have got an absolute minnow, for the laughs but really can't see the point. We should save ourselves for the league and the JPT IMO.

Nah, because we'll get the Mancs again in the 3rd Round and by then, this time, we will scare the cr*p out of them.

Ugghh! I forgot they've got the FA Cup.

Exactly! That's why I ask the question. It's an unexciting draw and I had been hoping for some more interesting lower-league ground but our daughter lives about 3 miles from the Memorial ground so we could make a weekend of it. I presume that it is just a choice between the Saturday and the Sunday? No Friday or Monday nights, for instance? We went there for the previous fiasco so it would be satisfying to get some revenge. Another defeat would be unthinkable :(.

another away game moved because a small number of morons can't behave themselves.....

Nope, moved because Bristol Rovers' near non-league neighbours Paulton Rovers are at home to Norwich on the Saturday in a televised game, and the OB can't/don't want to have to police two games in near proximity.

exactly, I think RedWillie is the moron jumping to conclusions there. far more likely there will be trouble on a dark friday night which will be harded to police.

Signed up ages ago to go a dinner party that night, which meant i end up missing The Happy Mondays, Ocean Colour Scene, The Courteeners and Gabriella Cilmi here in Dubai, now I'm likely to miss out on The Cup Match Commentary :(

Might have to suggest that we adjourn back to my place after the meal and a few drinks at the hotel and sneak out to the back room and catch the commentary whilst everybody else drinks my booze supply. ;)

Will probably be steamed up anyway (starting at 6.30) and won't remember the score by the time it ends at 0200 our time

Looking on the bright side though don't we get an extra day (or half day) to recover before our JPT game with Charlton on the 11th??

Charlton are on tv on the sunday I think so we should be a fair bit more fresh than them. They are playing some non league side while we're playing one of the best teams in our league, I reckon they will rest their key players.

right, that would be Northwich Victoria then, fellow -10 merchants. Probably not a particularly easy place to go although Charlton shouldn't have too much difficulty with them.

You'd think they'd put the Paulton match on the Friday. I'm just guessing here, but I suspect fewer fans will be turning up to that than go to the Mem for our match. Would make it a lot easier for the OB on a Friday night when one would assume they're pretty busy anyway.

Who's afraid of Bristol Rovers. They have been in decline since there freak win at SMS and are losing 3-0 at home to Leeds tonight. We are in the ascendency and are the form team, winning 3-1 home or away every time we play so its 3-1 to us and sweet revenge!

But Itv have selected it as a televised game so it has to be played on the Sat. Besides, we play well on Friday nights!

ITV have selected Paulton v Norwich for live tv coverage. If Avon & Somerset feel that they only have the staff to do the one game per day plus be able to cover their regular duties then so be it.

You may not like it, but they aren't here to please you.

Ooooooooh, nice try but it suits me down to a tee. I live in Bristol, but I'm working on Saturday morning, so I may well not have made it to a 3pm kick off. Should also be a bit less traffic around that time.

Interesting how since they beat us we have won four in a row and they have lost four.
