Probably time to offload a few before picking up more don't you think. Pards has said already that the squad "lose that loving feeling" with too many bodies around. A 40-man cuddle, now that would be worth seeing.

 

Incidentally, who like me thinks it's like "yuk - fetch the slop bucket time" at the beginning of matches when both squads do the big cuddle routine whilst the ref and us wait patiently for the big girl's blouses to get on with it. What is the point of it all if as often as not they lose or draw, hardly inspirational to team motivation is it.

To be fair I was told that we had a bid for him accepted as well but completely dismissed it at the time. Then on the "deadline day" thread there were quite a few different sources saying it was happening, and I started to hope a little bit more.

he wont come to us, leeds are defo going up this season and we will be lucky to reach playoffs and we dont need a striker we need a CM and maybe a RB on loan if murty is out for the season.

Quite agree I imagine our win stats have been abysmal since the cuddling was instigated. It would also be refreshing if the matches actually started on time(cuddling only adds to ko delay) and half time actually only lasted 15minutes.

Beckford is a player far too good for this league. At the start of the season, Leeds didn't want to sell, even with the knowledge his contract was up at the end of the season. They kept him in the hope they'd get promoted this season and could offer him a new contract. That looks like happening, but even if it doesn't. he'll be off to a top CCC/Prem team. No chance.

 

I'm quite happy with our own "too good for League One" striker at the moment.

most likely so, but if it were true, it would be a great Christmas present for the rest of L1.

I'm sure that Leeds don't WANT to sell him, but it might be a question of money..

......you know ...some clubs have those sort of financial problems.....

Beckford would be an outstanding foil for Lambert if we could get him. Is it likely ?? No i don't think so. If JB is determined to see out his contract at a team that are genuine favourites for promotion, why would he come to us ?? If anything i believe he would move to a CCC team, or re-sign for a bigger salary.

Maybe if we were to get promotion and Leeds ****ed it up and lost again in the playoffs we could nab him at the end of the year....but even then its a very long shot.

S****horpe where raving about him after he played three months for them at left back in this league.

 

He's as good as we're going to get as cover in this league and he's a youngster who will hopefully get better. I don't think LB is a problem at all.

 

Our priority has to be getting rid of all the **** that fills out our squad if we can find someone to take any of them.

I wouldn't say no to Beckford but I really don't think we need him. TDD is right. Besides, I think Connolly will prove to be a worthy foil for Lambert.
