corsacar saint Posted 21 October, 2009 Share Posted 21 October, 2009 Murty for me, if he is totally fit.
Greenridge Posted 21 October, 2009 Share Posted 21 October, 2009 James is certainly no right back and is one of the weaker elements of the team right now. I'd prefer Murty in there but of course he's not a long term solution and as we have more experience on the park now we're not desperate for that contribution either. Would like to think it's a position we are looking to strenthen in. A right-sided version of Harding would be nice.
Toadhall Saint Posted 21 October, 2009 Share Posted 21 October, 2009 Rule 1 - Do not change a winning side. Murty gets in off of the bench if James is having a bad game.
Redondo Saint Posted 21 October, 2009 Share Posted 21 October, 2009 I hope you got it wrong but isn't Murty out with a leg injury? Might explain why he sat down. I was with three others and we all thought the same. Maybe he was winding up Thompson and we all missed it. Although we all like a wind up and general **** take, etc. Even the club host was a little embarrassed. Either way, he should keep the dressing room banter away from fans if to most of them it simply was not funny or went over their heads. Anyway, back to the pitch, if he returns to full fitness I am sure he will win his place back.
astrasri Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 I am very surprised (and disappointed) to hear of this mainly because in the past I have only heard that he is a great ambassador for the game ! He is always first up for hospital visits etc. and appears to be extremely approachable, articulate and pleasant ! I have friends from Reading who hold him in very high esteem because of his character and even in his short time here there have been very positive reports about his behaviour ! I hope that your perception of this incident was perhaps a misunderstanding ! I was waiting around the shop before the game today when he and another player walked passed. Some fans asked him for an autograph, but one guy was a numpty and didn't have a pen. Wasting your time there I thought, but Murty went into the shop and re-appeared with a pen to sign the autographs which he duly did together with posing for several photographs. Great guy I thought. RedArmy Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 I'm a big LJ critic, but he's really stepped it up the past few weeks. Well done lad, you deserve to be in the team.
Saint_clark Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 Not in danger really, James still looks shaky at RB. I f*cking detest his refusal to cross from closer to goal than 20 yards, as well.
Kingsland Red Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 Murty will have to find his way back via the bench but I stand by my thread starter a few weeks ago -Murty every time as LJ always gives his man too much space to work in at full back. Joesaint Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 I think LJ is been really good, learning very fast and well done to the boy. Think he is given a chance to play but out of position, he is going for it and most important his positioning is getting much better. He saved us with a great header from one of there crosses today. dellboypete Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 LJ is improving all the time - but I feel he is too slow for right back (he struggled a couple of times today). Murty is ideal and LJ as right wing half would be perfect for him as he is really looking good going forward and he is beginning to put some really telling crosses into the box
captainchris Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 I thought L J struggled a bit today against MK Dons. He didn't come under a lot of pressure but was stretched to compete with a very average wide player. His first two free kicks in the first half in great positions were both short of their intended targets. Thinks this is his level, hes not going to be able to stay in this team for long and not in a higher league for sure.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 25 October, 2009 Author Share Posted 25 October, 2009 According to the OS and this Murty is expected to return to training next month . http://www.sportinglife.com/football/nationwide2/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer_league_1_and_2/09/10/23/WIMBLEDON_STORY_WIMBLEDON_-_0020C.html
