St Landrew Posted 3 November, 2009 Share Posted 3 November, 2009 Did the Mayans accurately predict the end of their own civilisation? That's worth quoting.

Saint_clark Posted 3 November, 2009 Share Posted 3 November, 2009 Did the Mayans accurately predict the end of their own civilisation? Apparently they did. I've read in a few books about them that they predicted a "white skinned devil coming out of the sea" to kill them all. This a couple of decades before the Spaniards actually sailed over and wiped them out.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 3 November, 2009 Share Posted 3 November, 2009 Typical Britain really - we have the Olympic games when the world ends.

And their food was created by a Corn God. The whole idea is based on the fact that their calendar ends in 2012 so that must mean the World ends then. Pretty dumb idea considering all calendar's end at some point, unless you have an infinite supply of paper.
