Trotman?

Sorry if been mentioned before but how likely is it that we sign trotman in jan? As i think he is just amazing! him and jaidi just work so well. id be gutted if we lost him in january! Surely pne have kept an eye on him and seen he's a class act?

Think it's probable that we'll extend his loan spell here until the end of the season at least.

 

Would be fantastic if we can sign him on a permanent basis, but I don't know if he is in Preston's long-term plans.

yeah i was gonna start a very similar post earlier...my feeling exactly.

 

You need players like trotman in this league, no-nonsense, i'll hurt you today and i'll crunch you harder if you get past me again kinda player!!

 

would be awesome if we signed him, he obviously knows how the club is being run and that were now a club on the up with a 5 year plan to get back to them premiership!

 

although if we dont sign him i do feel pards will get someone better looking at how great he has been in the transfer market so far this year!! we'll just have to wait and see!!

Preston are short of a few bob and he had a falling out with the manager before he left. They are not doing too badly in the league so are not likely to change manager, so they should be up for an offer come Jan. Also if we are doing alright and the terms are good he may well be up for it as well. We will have to show him a lot of love between now and January.

Dont fancy our chances at all. PNE sold Sean St. Ledger to Boro and Trotman would be fit to slot straight in to their side once his loan ends. I'd lve us to sign him, he's exactly what weve needed for years but I'm sure he will go back to Preston unfortunately.

No recall clause. By all accounts Trotman loves it at Saints and Pards knows how vital he has been so it will be a big priority come January. I think he will try to sign Antonio too, sounds like he is promising!

That was also my understanding of events.When he signed I think someone put a link to a PNE forum where this was widely talked of,to the point that Trotman would not be playing for Irvine again.

I'm pretty sure that if we offer what they find acceptable, they'll sell. They're in a position where all their players now have a price - 700k - 1m is a reasonable range for Trotts IMO.

 

i really really hope we sign him up on a 5 year deal, he can climb the leagues with us.

I would have thought we were - I would be, especially as he seems at odds with PNE's manager.

Permanent deal already signed and sealed. Deal was agreed after the deadline, so had to go on loan as opposed to announcing a permanent deal. HTH, smug bar steward.

This is indeed the view that many PNE fans subscribe to; they also think the £500k they paid for him is about £300k too much.

Umm yeah, lol, didn't mean to write it like that. was mean to say how well pards has done in the transfer market this season tells me that is trotman does go back to PNE then we might end up with someone better perhaps...

Really rate Trotman, and hope we keep him. But as others have said, Pardew has shown himself to be quite exceptional - to the point of genius - in the transfer market, so I don't think we need to be too worried - just hopeful.

good point, but the likelyhood is that Preston would not want to sell a player now that they might need later in the season. Mind you if the momey is right they could use that to buy someone else I supoose.

If we only sign 1 player in Jan I will be very happy if it is Trotters I think he has been class and has been getting better since playing along side Jaidi.

 

He is young for a centre back and will only get better if he continues the way he is going so he would be a good investment for us.

funny I was saying to a mate the other day that I genuinely don't feel nervous at all at set pieces. I don't think I have ever been able to say that regarding Saints. Great isn't it?
