Having read through the Orient forum there were many sensible and balanced posts,so well done to those posters.

The following two were not among the balanced posters however :

This from an absolute spacker :

They are acting above their station. If thats the allocation they have then so be it.

End of.

Just because they were stupid enough to get into financial trouble and get relegated doesn't mean thay can ride rough shot over smaller clubs like us because they want to attend in big numbers.

The ones not being lucky enough to get tickets will just have to wait two seasons until they are back in the Championship, because they aint going nowhere this season.

This is going to be the Leeds of a couple of years ago and I for one, hope we send them back down the M3 with nil points and their tails between their legs

And:

The last time I can remember them coming, there was trouble and a wall collapsed.

So **** 'em.

That was in 1978 !

One guy mentioned...

Sounds like we might have to tool up for this game.

^^top of page 3!!^^

Sounds like a few fans fancy getting a little rough!!? Not too keen on their comments.

Thankfully a few fans have back us and said why not give us another stand to help them financially!!!

Imagine 5,000 or so of us...would be aweosme, be like playing at home!!

Getting more and more excited by the day for this game, going to be so good. Cant see how were going to lose either unless MK Dons destroy our confidence this weekend but cant really see that happening if all goes to plan.

Up the saints!!

Must be tough when you love your club passionately then see 3000 + away fans turning up for a game and almost out-numbering you on yr own ground. It must leave even the die-hard fan wondering how he / she ended up loving a small club!

reading the orient forum...

how on earth does asking for more tickets mean we are arrogant....not many (or anyone) have been going on about how we are going to thrash them or anything..

green eyed monster me thinks

Just think all those Orient youngsters long remembering the day that the Mighty Southampton FC came to town!

"In that number................."

Just think a few of them could be so in awe of us that they start following the Saints!

Exactly what I thought... I can't understand the thinking behind some of the comments on there!

I would be happy with a 1.1 draw next week, as long we equalise with a header, like in 66 and 78. Not that I am superstitious or anything. (David Connolly, the new Tony Funnell)

With our current form I can't see us dropping any points at all here. My money is going on another 3-1 win with lallana to score first.

Hopefully the coach journey will be a good one too, looking forward to it very much!!

A good alternative for pre match drinks is Wanstead, served by Wanstead and Snaresbrook stations on the Central Line, which are at opposite ends of the same High Street. Its 2 stops further on but a world away from Leyton, decent pubs and bars.

For those driving Snaresbrook station is also a good place to park coming in from the M11 side of the M25 and then taking the Central Line west bound a couple of stops. Traffic in the Leyton area can be very bad without 3250 of us arriving too, and if you have a decent motor I don't recommend street parking.

You make Leyton sound like a leafy suburban paradise.

Just read through their thread on our ticket allocation. I cannot for the life of me understand why this makes us arrogant. We are going to support our team. COYR.

It seems to be one poster in particular, OTH, who is, in fairness, getting flack from his own people. I thnk he is just acutely embarrassed that (again) there will be more away supporters than their own for a home match.

Posted

Whilst I personally would be gutted, annoyed, frustrated and embarrassed if a third of our ground was full of away fans, I would have the common sense not to blame those fans for that situation.

Posted

If they were giving us tickets at the expense of Orient fans going to watch their team they might have a reason to moan but seeing as they barely half fill the ground I can't see the problem with so many Saints fans taking up seats they don't fill.

hahahahahahaahahah a day out on the MK Dons bingo bus, surely the most souless experience in football, mostly the usual bunch of social rejects you'd expect on a travel club, but special mention to these gimps in the ground with the stupid hat who looks like he got dressed in the dark likewise his chubby mate, and there are a few older people there, surely they didnt start following football in the last 6 years? who did they support before?

Wimbledon maybe?

Wimbledon maybe?

Most Wimbledon fans now support AFC Wimbledon due to MK Dons being 90 miles away.

Most MK Dons fans are from Milton Keynes and would not have supported Wimbledon before the formation of MK Dons.

Really? What were Wimbledon attendances before the move?

I really don't like MK Dons very much.

I thought we had some spanners for fans but they take it to a whole new level.

At that MK Dons site. Like something out of a primary school magazine. Stupid numpties.

really????? to me they look like a decent bunch of people enjoying a good day out at football......... so, because they're not lairy looking tw4ts who seem up for a fight, then they're obviously 'spanners'......?? :smt102.........

In fairness to the MK Dons fans and those photos it looks to me like they came and simply had a good day out. When did we become big time charlie enough that we poke fun at fans for enjoying the football. There was nothing agressive, or derogotory in those photos. And some fans say we are getting arrogant....... Yes its MK Dons but its the club we should dislike not the supporters!

No, it's beacuse they look like a bunch of spanners.

I'm not lairy or up for a fight at the football but neither do I act like a spanner.

Well I was thinking more of the fact that they called us Scummers and also that I saw one of the blokes in those pictures making a 'cut-throat' sign at our fans. Perhaps I should have said 'I really don't like some of the MK Dons fans', which is what I meant.

Just before the breakup of the club they were averaging 4,000

Selhurst Park was the nearest top-flight ground to where I lived in the early to mid 90's, so when not watching Saints I'd often pop along to see Wimbledon. And yes, attendances were often just over 4000. Even for the visits of the bigger teams it was still possible to get tickets on the day.

Remember seeing Saints win 2-1 there. Matty scored the winner and a useful looking young sub called Jason Euell came on for Wimbledon and banged in a 20 yard scissor kick.

Whatever happened to him?

I think he now works the beaches in Blackpool.

Can you remember Matty running crazily after the ball for the first 2 minutes. :)
