Huffton Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 ..of bottom spot and making his way up the league with his team, that he has built in a short space of time. Hope Alps and all the other knee jerk reactionists are enjoying today!:drinkers:
swannymere Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 I agree, FFS what's the point in winning games
Yate Saint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Yeah, it just makes everyone happy on here.
St Landrew Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 ... in his back garden tomorrow. Have a nice day off, Pards.

saints_is_the_south Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Should have won by a bigger margin ffs, this simply isn't good enough anymore!
benjii Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 I'm going to our next two matches having not to been to one for ages and am really looking forward to it! Cheers Pards. Cheers Nic. Cheers Markus.
Toomer Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 We were/are six weeks behind every one else, where could we have been if AP had started on a level playing field with this group of players even on minus ten points, mid table?
docker-p Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Sounded like we could have scored 5 today. But i'll settle for 1-3
sotonjoe Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 what on earth was ap thinking today? He made a couple of rash substitutions, changed the shape of the team, thus paving the way for a 3-1 victory. wtf was all that about!
benjii Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 He obviously hasn't read, "One Way to Play" by J Poortvliet.
hypochondriac Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 We were/are six weeks behind every one else, where could we have been if AP had started on a level playing field with this group of players even on minus ten points, mid table? If we had had the ful summer with these players and no minus ten then we would be top three IMO.

John Boy Saint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 If we had had the ful summer with these players and no minus ten then we would be top three IMO. Even with the -10 and a full pre season we would have 29 points by now. I think that comment puts me on the fence :smt119
lordswoodsaints Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 I think that you will find that we are all happy that pardew is getting his team to play football and win games, why wouldn't we be? What we were trying to point out is the failure that could have easily happened if pardew wasn't able to turn things around.it could still happen and although I am over the moon with the results I still have my reservations about pardew. Very Good result today, keep up the excellent work .
pilsburydoughboy Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Sounded like we could have scored 5 today. But i'll settle for 1-3 So will i at 22-1 cha-ching.
Fan The Flames Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Off the bottom spot, next goal out of the r zone which I predict we will do in 4 games.
Atticus Finch of Maycomb Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 I cannot for the life of me believe that people are still calling for Pardew's head. Yes, we are still in the relegation zone and yes, maybe we should have more points than we currently have, but he has built a great squad, has got us playing better than we have for years, and is a PREMIERSHIP QUALITY MANAGER. If we got rid of Pardew now, there is no way that another manager of Pardew's quality would want to join us, considering our position and the way the fans and club treat our managers. But then again, that's what we do, right? Mental

Very Good result today, keep up the excellent work . Well you go up in my estimation (not that that's worth much ) for coming on here and saying that when results seem to be proving you wrong. Let's be honest, it wasn't a 2-1 or 1-0 close thing. We are closing games down in a way we haven't for years. This seems like the real deal. At least you aren't responding to this thread by simply posting "Yawn" or "yeah yeah, you know we apparently didn't have a pre-season FFS" or any of the other snide, cheap bulls**t we've had on here for the last few weeks. Fair go to you.

More of a slightly-opinionated-Saints-fan-who-sticks-his-neck-out-probably-a-tad-too-far-for-his-own-good-sometimes, type reactionist.
Saint Fen Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Yes, very much. Thanks for asking. You truely are an internet muppet!
SaintBobby Posted 18 October, 2009 Posted 18 October, 2009 I love this forum, I really do. But I do think it helps to show why fans should never run football clubs. We're too happy with things going right, and too prescriptive when things go wrong. If patience is a virtue, it's not one we show very often. As an aside though, has anyone, anywhere, actually called for "Pardew out" this season? Other than as pardoy?
Saint Bones Posted 18 October, 2009 Posted 18 October, 2009 Things sure are looking a lot better. Was a month though that I'm sure Pard's , the team and the owners had down as a must secure points. Hopefully we can see continual improvement and the 'winning mentality' that has been lost at Southampton for so long return. AP OUT - To get you league one !
Saint Bones Posted 18 October, 2009 Posted 18 October, 2009 I As an aside though, has anyone, anywhere, actually called for "Pardew out" this season? Other than as pardoy? For me - I think the fans were so desperate for a great start to the season after so many average ones that when it didnt occur the feeling of "here we go again" settled in. We are all guilty of sayings things on the spur of the moment especially when passion is involved. Things are bloody well sunny in Southampton at the moment though... it's quiet on the fourm because I think everyone is at a loss of what this feeling is Keep up the great work Pards and Team !
