Colinjb Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're no longer bottom, we're no longer bottom, la-la-la-laaaaaaa
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 YAAAAAR!! Roll on the next game, we're loving it!!
Saint_clark Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Get in. Waigo and Jaidi sounded dodgy, but i'm sure Pardew will pick up on that and sort it. Great for Connelly to get his first goal, although why was he booked? Not his fault the Oldham stewards were sh*t and couldn't hold back the Saints fans.
Legod Third Coming Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 another step on the road to promotion
JustMike Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 yessss when was the last time we won 3 league games on the trot?
sfc6mufc3 Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 another great away result off the bottom, scoring goals, not letting many in and Connolly scorese and debut. Hit the bar few times, another goal for Lambo who nearly scored with a 40 yard effort good times:)
suewhistle Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Apppppeerrrritivo time! Byeeee, I may be a little while! ..and I'm in the squad for tomorrow, I feel a subs appearance and a goal coming on.....
Colinjb Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 yessss when was the last time we won 3 league games on the trot? Under Wotte, unbelievably.
S-Clarke Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 I think it's safe to say we're now off and running. Pard's has found a formation that suits the players we have and he's getting the best out of the likes of Adam and Morgan. Oldham is a tough place to go for any team...so for us to do the job so comfortably (again) is brilliant. I don't think teams are playing ''that'' bad against us, it's just that we've been to good for them over the last few weeks. Footballs great again..!
trousers Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 yessss when was the last time we won 3 league games on the trot? edit : trousers is an arse
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 another step on the road to promotion Lovin` it
Saintandy666 Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Target 1: Get into positive points - COMPLETED Target 2: Get off the bottom of the table - COMPLETED Next Target: Get out of the relegation zone. Good win today, we can get some momentum going me thinks now
dubai_phil Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Memory is not so good after suffering such a culture shock, but somehow I seem to remember we once struggled to score 6 away goals in an entire season in the PL. Bloody marvellous
Mattio Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 get in, can't wait til i can see saints in action
Painswick Saint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 That was a very good result - lets keep this momentum going
martel Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Excellent, fantastic, superb, wonderful, brilliant, delightful and above all that, Shxt hot, I can feel the play off's coming on.
Legod Third Coming Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 11 from the play offs 20 from the top Bring it on!
brightspark Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 unbelievable... didnt think we'd win here... honestly, this win is an indicator that we can do damage late on this season. got to keep on backing up these wins. MK Dons is important - we don't want to go back down to the bottom. keep on flying. good...or GREATnight
SoccerMom Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Sat next to a family of skates on the train trying not to feel smug. Oh, go on then, I feel smug.
saint lard Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Blinding result, superb stuff. Get's a thumbs up from me,good day all round......
Viking Warrior Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 What a good win onwards and upwards. Lambert will not be the only one hitting the bar tonight I guess
Chris Larkin Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 COYR! We're only 11 points off the play-offs with 33 games left, and would be 10th if we hadn't had the points penalty. I'm actually starting to believe there's a chance we could go up this season.
SaintRobbie Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Where are the sceptics now then! ... they are on typing away in support of Lowe in another thread.
dubai_phil Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Just one really important question left now.. How many points do the Sk8tes have?
Um Bongo Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Let's not forget Oldham were just below us in the form table. To go to Southend and Oldham, both grotty ****holes, and come away with a 3-1 win in both games shows how the team is developing. Let's face it, when we concede a goal and the other team pulls one back, it's was always us who got nervous and went on to draw/lose. Now we are finishing the games off!
SaintBobby Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Very, very good result. And a riche vein of form to be sure. Keeps the play-off dream very much alive.
St Columb Saint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Great result, life living amongst the plastics is getting better. Betty stogs will be sweet tonight
SaintRobbie Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 COYR! We're only 11 points off the play-offs with 33 games left, and would be 10th if we hadn't had the points penalty. I'm actually starting to believe there's a chance we could go up this season. Steady tiger... we just need to stay in this league, then win it next season!
Toomer Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Another good away win, off the bottom and playing well, will be a stern test next week against MK Dons,
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 That'll ****ing do. Delighted. I was sure we'd lose!
SO16_Saint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Just one really important question left now.. How many points do the Sk8tes have? +3!
.comsaint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Cracking result from what sounded a cracking game. I am truly chuffed to bits tonight. The deciding factor was a piece of tactical genius from the gaffer. When Oldham scored - the old Southampton would have buckled & in all likelihood would have conceded again to end the game with just a point. Pardew on the other hand sent Connelly on - went 4-4-2 - and reaped the rewards by getting that 3rd killer goal! Great stuff. Hat's-off to Pards - the players - and especially the fans who travelled all the way up there. They were magnificent today. Delighted. Truly delighted. A good weekend was had by all!
Gigersaint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Great result, great day. The Mrs placed us a Ladbrookes double this morning with a Saints 3-1 win, Pompey lose 2-1 and just won £416.00. Saints off the bottom too.
Jonnyboy Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 yessss when was the last time we won 3 league games on the trot? When Wotte took over about 9 months back
saints_is_the_south Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Great win, get in there boys! Sounded like Lambert was immense again & could easily have had a hatrick. Great to see Connolly getting on the score sheet too, he is going to prove to be a bargain of a signing. Skates lost too - Perfect day all round. I'm starting to get used to this winning malarky!
Um Bongo Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Le Tiss on Sky Sports when Stirling read out Saints were off the bottom.... 'Yesssss'
SO16_Saint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 how sexy is this!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/table/default.stm
Gordon Mockles Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 FANTASTIC RESULT! I demanded Connolly to score & he delivered. Love him already! Love being a Saints fan at the moment. Amazing the difference a competent managment team with a few shrewd coaching appointments, some free transfers twinned with some key player purchases make! Lol [ps. Knowing about football helps] CAN'T WAIT FOR ORIENT!! Shame about Tranmere but who cares, we're on the move now! COYS
sussexsaint Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 I never thought getting off the bottom of league 1 would be so fantastic - awesome result we feel like a complete club again happy days
del boy Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 COYR! We're only 11 points off the play-offs with 33 games left, and would be 10th if we hadn't had the points penalty. I'm actually starting to believe there's a chance we could go up this season. Saints v Pompey in the CCC next year!?!
Nexstar Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Didn't play perhaps aswell as we have in the last few games but it shows we can grind out a result. Now the climbing over bad teams begins and we have the best goal difference in the bottom half of the league by 4 goals!
It's There Posted 17 October, 2009 Posted 17 October, 2009 Steady tiger... we just need to stay in this league, then win it next season! If you could gauarantee it, I'd accept it....but just ask Leeds et al how difficult it is to ghet promotiooon. We should alweays aim to go up FAST, ie this season, not next. There is noone in gthe league Saints should fear. As confidence rises, both amongst supporters and players so the belief in the promotion bandwagon gathers pace. The players will now, for the first time in years, be believing in each other. Strong willed captains on the pitch, being tough with each other as well as the opposition, will make this a seasn to remember! Believe!
