Redbul Posted 16 October, 2009 Share Posted 16 October, 2009 (edited) Anyone watch this? More early evening irreverence with dysfunctional American family mayhem a la (almost) Simpsons, Family Guy and Malcolm in the Middle. But, tbf, it did make me laugh so I'll persevere with it. Most famous name in it is Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy from Married With Children and Glen the Mikita's manager in the Wayne's World films) but Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen make it eminently watchable!!!! Give it a go, it has it's moments. [Deliberately] cringeworthy Dad Phil Dunphy on being hip, cool and happening: "Yeah, I'm in there with all the text speak; LOL, laugh out loud; OMG, Oh my God; WTF, why the face...." And also the bit where the gay couple Jesse and Eric introduce their adopted baby Vietnemese daughter to the family: Phil: "What's her name?" Jesse: "Lily." Phil: "Will she be able to say that?" There is an element of Outnumbered in there too, especially with the Dunphy family, but nowhere near as good as our own homegrown talent!!!!
