Saint Charlie Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Great to see him back for the reserves. Perfect for this league. Big, strong, quick and direct. Can play out wide ore even up front. Good option for Pards to have. No need to rush him back but ideal player to come off the bench.
sambosa75 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Big? AND strong? You sure? He's quick and direct, I'll give you that but as for big and strong, hes a carbon copy of Nathan Dyer mate.

S-Clarke Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 He's not that strong/big - but he's very direct, more so than Jake IMO - he really impressed me in the couple of cameo's he had last year and i think he could be a cracking option for us.
Saint_clark Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 He has more strength than Dyer to be fair, but he certainly isn't big. Unless you're Gillett.

Micky Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 was dyer 6'2 and 12.5 stone? Dyslexic Nick...? He was 2'6 and 5.12 stone mate...!
sambosa75 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 was dyer 6'2 and 12.5 stone? Are you saying McGlaggon is then? http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/D1K_t4i6VRv/Southampton+v+Sheffield+United/aUV6ccQ6XWQ/Kyle+Naughton
NickG Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Saints are http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10280~46142,00.html

Gis Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 (edited) Not tall agreed, but well built and can look after himself. (More like Diego...not the 2009 model... than Nathan) He also seems to genuinely enjoy winding up the opposition and often seems to need to do this to play at his best - I can't see him being kicked out of many games. Hope he is really over his achilles as loss of acceleration would ruin his chances of making it. Edited 15 October, 2009 by Gis

Either OS is wrong, or we have some giants posting on here who think 6'2 is small! or people are not sure who he is!
Saint_clark Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Either OS is wrong, or we have some giants posting on here who think 6'2 is small! or people are not sure who he is! I read big as in Lambert or Wotton big, broad across the chest, big arms etc. Besides, he definitely isn't 6'2, as that would make him the same size as Lambert.
Niemster Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 He isn't 6'2 thats for sure much more of a dyer size. OS has got it very wrong!
NickG Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 does this pic answer it!? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TeamHome/0,,10280,00.html
Saint_clark Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 does this pic answer it!? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TeamHome/0,,10280,00.html Not really, which one is he?
Saint_clark Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 OK, so he's on the back row on the far right. Compare him to Gillett, on the back row on the far left.
Saint_clark Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Didn't realise Lambert had 7 assists so far this season!
NickG Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 shown as 1.88m on this site, can't be bothered to do conversion but is same as Wayne Thomas http://www.footballsquads.co.uk/eng/2008-2009/flcham/southam.htm
Saint_clark Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Nick, he is the same size if not shorter than Gillett.
Gis Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Got to be about 5'9" maybe 5'10" max. Definitely bigger than Gillett.
benjii Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 He's definitely shorter than, for example, Schneiderlin or Wotton who are both probably about 6'0". I would say he's about 5'9" max.
benjii Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Didn't realise Schneiderlin was our most sent off player with 0 red cards.
Saint Charlie Posted 15 October, 2009 Author Posted 15 October, 2009 Well regardless of how tall he is, he is pretty well built, certainly compared to Dyer etc, he was a junior sprinter afterall. And glad he is back from a nasty injury. Potentially good player!

Saint Charlie Posted 15 October, 2009 Author Posted 15 October, 2009 Kayne is about 5 foot 10 iirc Where did you get your FM data from then seeing as most sources say (probably wrongly that he is around 6'2)? Surely you didnt just make it up?
Stepgar Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Got to be about 5'9" maybe 5'10" max. Definitely bigger than Gillett. Mate an oompa loompa is bigger than Gillett
ART Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 The mind boggles to what Saint Charlie was referring to as big and strong where Kayne McLaggon is concerned. Maybe he has had visions of a Kenwyne Jones in the making as opposed to a Nathan Dyer.:smt041
Gis Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Mate an oompa loompa is bigger than Gillett actually if you look very carefully at the team photo you can see the stool that Gilly is stood on
S-Clarke Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Didn't realise Schneiderlin was our most sent off player with 0 red cards. i saw that...random!
NickG Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Nick, he is the same size if not shorter than Gillett. this is all quite random! Not got a clue personally - range seems to be somewhere from 5'5 from you to 6'2 on OS!
Nineteen Canteen Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Who cares about his physical attributes - from what I have seen he has the making of being an excellent player for us especially at this level and give us some pace and attacking options at least down one side of the pitch. Can't wait for him to be given his chance when he is fully ready. If you sit at the back of the stands everyone looks like Nathan Dyer.

Could be just the kind of guy who could be very useful. With Papa impressing and Antonio also looking decent we seem to have much more pace in and around the squad. And pace is so important in todays game.

benjii Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Can I just say, I love Nathan Dyer for the above pic and also for this: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1660361.ece
Nineteen Canteen Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Somebody needs to tell Benji that size doesn't matter, its the quality that counts.
LostBoys Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 I met him at a academy game a few years ago and he is about 5'6" to 5'7" based on my 5'9" - I did not measure him. I think he is a better prospect than Dire and does not have the attitude problem and is not a convicted tea leaf

I think he is a better prospect than Dire and does not have the attitude problem and is not a convicted tea leaf OS and Soccernet have him at 6'2" or 1.88Mtrs. Maybe he's shot up in those couple of years. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10280~46142,00.html
Thedelldays Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 Didn't pards mention him as one he was looking forward to see in action?
spyinthesky Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 I must admit at being surprised at seeing McGlaggon shown at over 6' on the Saints FC site Thought he must have shot up since last year which obviously isnt the case Some of the stats seem to be wrong Also looking at the saints team pic. some of the players appear to be standing on tip toes to look taller if you look closely. Must admit to doing this myself when I used to be in team photos!!
(not THE) Kevin Moore Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 that's one HELL of a growth spurt over the summer.... maybe they planted him in baby bio?
RonManager Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 that's one HELL of a growth spurt over the summer.... maybe they planted him in baby bio? Fison's Evergreen 80
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 I'm not sure that Matt Paterson is 178cm either (if the OS is to be believed). He must be standing on a stool in that photo, as he's about the same height as Bart and Trotman!
thefuriousb Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 May be it is part of a cunnnig plan? Saints list in a 1st team squad... the oppo see a new name and see his is 6ft 2. They play a big, slow hulk of a CB against him, and Kayne duly dances through his legs and slaloms past 3 covering defenders before cooling slotting past the bemused keeper!! Other than that I thought he was no bigger than 5ft 8 (I didn't though laugh and abuse him like the racist tool that sat behind me in the Chapel last season)
Blandford saint Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 After this discussion, can't wait to see him out on the pitch so that we can see what the truth is - I thought he looked about 5ft 9in, but perhaps he was still growing - must be eating his Weetabix. Anyway, he looked very promising when he came off the bench before - not the usual faffing around - he just ran straight at the opposition.
Evil Monkey Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 Maybe theyre talking about the size of his c*ck.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 16 October, 2009 Posted 16 October, 2009 Maybe people are getting him confused with Nile Ranger who left a few years ago, now he is 6ft 2 and built like a brick **** house.
