Legod Third Coming Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Is that fair though, did Anders Svensson play in the hole?
Arizona Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 I'm sure Griffit played up front when he scored. Replaced Tessem up front on his debut.
S-Clarke Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 I wouldn't class adam as a midfielder - to me, he's a forward. Exactly what MLT was - floating around the attacking areas. The sort of player that just picks up pockets of space in and around the striker(s) There's an article on the echo website (not sure if this is where you got it from nick) - stating that AL is the highest scoring midfielder etc...but then they say they cannot include MLT's goals because of the free role he had in the team ...but that's exactly what adam has!
saintjay77 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 I'm sure Griffit played up front when he scored. Replaced Tessem up front on his debut. I remember him going on a pretty good run down the left before cutting in and curling one in the top corner. I thought we had the next (insert ferkin good left winger who scores wonder goals allot here) and were going to go on to win everything! lol
Master Bates Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Matt Le Tissier scored a few. The Echo aren't counting Le Tiss as they're unsure whether he's a midfielder or striker. Buy todays Echo (where the above facts are from) and they explain everything.

No, this is part of an Echo special on Adam Lallana, all the above is listed in todays copy, therefore the Echo needs more interesting stuff to talk about, although I like this type of stuff. Nick must have only just bought his unless it's now only just online.

TBH I would say that MLT (and he says as much in his book) was an attacking midfield player and therefore should be included but I agree if MLT is not, then AL shouldn't either because he's fulfilling the same role.

70's Mike Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 So since David Armstrong he have not scored goals from mid field
Trumush Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 These stats emphasise just how great a player David Armstrong was . High spot - that cross for Steve Moran to sink the skates in the last minutes at nottarf in the cup. Low spot - straying offside for KK's wonder dissallowed "goal". Still one of my all time favourite Saints.
