Saint Fan CaM Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Here we go again. Funny, I do not feel the same level of anxiety now with an impending away game coming up. I actually am starting to believe we can win these games now and win them convincingly. So - here we go... Oldham 1 - Saints 3 That'll do...
beavis17 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Going for Oldham 0 -1 Saints our squad is so strong at the moment, players like thomas, holmes and saga might not even make the squad tomorrow but oldham shutout charlton last week so its not going to be easy
RonManager Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 On the other hand they couldn't score against Yeovil. 0-2 Saints
ponto1963 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 1-2 to Saints. Another win on the cards I think.
MongoNeil Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Does anyone know if we can buy tickets on the day?
View From The Top Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 I've got the stage where I actually believe that we are going to win every game we play. Therefore Oldham will win to teach me a lesson.
sperm_john Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 oldham 2-1 win or boring 2-2 draw to shock the fans and cause turmoil and anguish on this forum ....its what we are use to...
a1ex2001 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 any sort of victroy and moving off the bottom of the table would be a brilliant result two clubs bettween us and the foot of the table and a great performance would be a massive bonus!
ChrisPY Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 2-1 last minute winner for Oldham. I'm sure in a couple of months I'll be predicting Saints wins but I haven't got over the last few years just yet!
oldsarum Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Does anyone know if we can buy tickets on the day? Yes but £2 more on the day, I may have a spare available as DARK SOTONIC MILLS has not contacted me about the ticket he requested from me.
Asaint4ever Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 On the other hand they couldn't score against Yeovil. 0-2 Saints neither could we!
Appy Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 neither could we! Apart from the 2 we did score.
West End Saint Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 I think this will be tricky I fancy us to nick it 1 0 Lambert to score would be very good news if we can extend the run & take confidence into the M K Dons game would love to see us out of relegation spots by xmas COYR
Andy_Porter Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Anything less than a win will be dissapointing.
krissyboy31 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 They don't score many goals but then again they don't concede many either therefore 1-0 either way I reckon.
saintsmike25 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 2-1 Oldham lets not get too carried away.
Tom28 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Not that I wish to gloat (I do) but Ive made a small fortune the last two weeks. £50 on Lambert to score first and Saints to win vs Gills and £2 on Trotman to score first in a 3-1 win at Southend. This week I'm going with Lallana to score the Saints goal in a 1-1 draw. People saying that anything less than a win is a poor result should have a word with themselves. Clean sheet would be nice but we just can't seem to do it.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 A lesson will be learned as Oldham grab a convincing win. All this talk of promotion is craaaaazy, we have a long way to go.

You made £2? You must have got some sh*te odds on that one.
Dark Munster Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 A lesson will be learned as Oldham grab a convincing win. All this talk of promotion is craaaaazy, we have a long way to go. Oldham win? Possibly. Convincing? I don't think so.
saintjinksie Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Going for Oldham 0 -1 Saints our squad is so strong at the moment, players like thomas, holmes and saga might not even make the squad tomorrow but oldham shutout charlton last week so its not going to be easy they wont play for a draw at home though, we'll carve them up 4-1 saints! COYR
St Will Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 If we do lose, can the doom and gloom merchants please keep things in perspective?! We've had 3 wins on the bounce, we're obviously getting better, and one defeat doesn't mean we've gone backwards and we're going to get relegated again. Having said that, I think we might nick it, although it won't be easy to break them down. 1-2 Saints.
Asaint4ever Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Apart from the 2 we did score. Both peno's!
St Will Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Both peno's! Funny, I thought goals scored from penalties counted! Silly me! So when I saw us beat Yeovil 2-0, I actually was in total denial and it was 0-0! ;-)
S-Clarke Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Anything less than a win will be dissapointing. I'd take a draw if im honest one of the hardest places to go - oldham are amongst the best teams in this league.
wightman35 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 One day soon, we will go into matches not just hoping for a win, but expecting to win. :):) If I predict a win, we will probably lose as happened once before on this web so I have to keep my thoughts to myself.
St Chalet Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Team? ---------------Kelv James -----Trottman ---Jaidi -------Harding -----------------Spiderman---------------- Papa----- Hammond------- Mellis---------- Lallana -------------------Lambert------------------- Subs Bart Thomas Mills Wotton Holmes Connoly Saga I think this is our strongest side (bar James at RB) but maybe Pardew will stick with Wotton in front of the defence and keep Schneiderlin in a more advanced role.
pap Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 I'm taking my youngest daughter to her first footy game! COYR!
krissyboy31 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Not sure if Mellis is back yet. The BBC team news suggests he isn't available.
Joesaint Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Team? ---------------Kelv James -----Trottman ---Jaidi -------Harding -----------------Spiderman---------------- Papa----- Hammond------- Mellis---------- Lallana -------------------Lambert------------------- Subs Bart Thomas Mills Wotton Holmes Connoly Saga I think this is our strongest side (bar James at RB) but maybe Pardew will stick with Wotton in front of the defence and keep Schneiderlin in a more advanced role. Really good this and with the new players coming in (on the bench) looks like some real competition. I'd love to see Connoly start, maybe Holmes but what do you do with Lallana? and is Papa staying at RM? I think alot of the players we have are different and therefor the formation is prone to change.
S-Clarke Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Team? ---------------Kelv James -----Trottman ---Jaidi -------Harding -----------------Spiderman---------------- Papa----- Hammond------- Mellis---------- Lallana -------------------Lambert------------------- Subs Bart Thomas Mills Wotton Holmes Connoly Saga I think this is our strongest side (bar James at RB) but maybe Pardew will stick with Wotton in front of the defence and keep Schneiderlin in a more advanced role. Looks a nice team, but still lacking that bit of balance on the left IMO. Harding could be left really exposed in some games. The bench for this level is absolutely amazing though. Only leeds could field such a strong bench IMO. I do think Pard's will go for the unchanged team though, Mellis will probably be too tired to start because of the international games...
Mao Cap Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Don't want to get carried away just yet, and Oldham aren't a bad side, so I'll go for 1-1.
Genk Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 I'm praying we don't lose. The coach journey back would be horrendous. I'm thinking 2-1 win for us
Nineteen Canteen Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 It maybe just me but I don't think we do well travelling up the M6 for away games. In fact the last game I can think of winning in the North West was early last season when we came back from 2-0 down at Preston. This season we have drawn away to Stockport and Carlisle on our M6 travels and both matches coming after promising displays. So unless our driver takes the team via the M1 and across the Pennines I predict a comfortable but boring draw.
docker-p Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Oldham 0 - Saints 127. 6 years of pain exorcised in one go.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Oldham 0 - Saints 127. 6 years of pain exorcised in one go. Stock up on the Nurofen tomorrow.
CWD Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 played this game on fifa and it finished 1-2 with goals from lambert and hammond. seems likely to me im gonna shove a fiver on that!
