Draino76 Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Yup I have an excel exam this afternoon which will involve manipulating raw data with vlookups and presenting it in pivot table format. Does anyone know of some decent raw data examples so I can practice? Ta very much.
Michelle Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 Does anyone know what this means in English!? This just shows that I seriously need some sort of tutorial on how to properly use Excel, and I use it quite a bit already! No help from me I'm afraid, but good luck with the exam!
Colinjb Posted 15 October, 2009 Posted 15 October, 2009 (edited) You have this this afternoon? And have decided to practice now!? Mate, I wish you serious luck. Here is a basic tutorial I found very quickly online by entering 'vlookup tutorial' into google. http://www.free-training-tutorial.com/function-vlookup.html Edited 15 October, 2009 by Colinjb
Draino76 Posted 15 October, 2009 Author Posted 15 October, 2009 Vlookups I'm ok with. The pivot table however I'm not too familiar with. I can see its just a drag and drop kinda thing; but I've searched for example raw data to experiment with and cannot find any.
Draino76 Posted 15 October, 2009 Author Posted 15 October, 2009 I'm finding this site incredibly useful; http://lacher.com/toc/tutpiv.htm
Draino76 Posted 16 October, 2009 Author Posted 16 October, 2009 How'd it go ? Yeah not bad thanks. The spreadsheet was a bit of a monster and was only allowed 25 minutes! If anyone wants the test, PM me with yer email.
