Interesting comment on SSN just now that Gold was looking to invest in a club south of Watford...he mentioned West Ham, Brighton and Southampton.

Where the heck was he 12 months ago when we were desperate....whatever anyone says Brady is decent at her job.

No thanks now though think we are more than happy with what we have.

True, but Oldknow is the operations executive and has a history in football.

Gold and Sullivan would presumably want some sort of equity investment and personally I am happy with Herr Liebherr and Herr Liebherr alone at the moment when it comes to ownership!

For a while prior to the takeover I expected Sullivan to purchase the Stadium and rent it back to those who did not have enough money to purchase the whole club! It was a strong rumour.

Call me prudish if you will, but I'd rather have a bloke owning the club who makes heavy machinery than one who makes dildos.

Judging by the size of some of the dildos you see nowadays (so i'm reliably informed), they fall into the category of heavy machinery.

Wasn't Sullivan involved with Birmingham or he did he pack it in a while ago?

Yes he was still involved so could not buy the club. However a property deal for the stadium did not break any rules.

Really?

I'm amazed if there are no rules preventing that. It's clearly a massive conflict of interest.

They'd have that bit of football experience that Nic Cortese currently doesn't,

Um, successfully advising experts on sports purchases for a long duration of his career should count for something....

He was probably planning his exit strategy at the time. Remember this Yeong takeover has been going on for over a year now. Could well have been planning a takeover once his ties with Brum were severed.

Yes I'm not knocking it but at the moment the boardroom consists of 2 people (3, if you include Teflon). Cortese wants to add at least another one in the guise of a Sporting Director but surely someone with Gold or Brady's experience would be a beneficial and possibly preferable appointment?

There was the small problem of money still being tied in with Birmingham. If Yeung does not complete or another buyer cannot be found, he is stuck in limbo. He was the guest of **** Knight a couple of times, but even he reckoned Saints were more likely than Brighton.

When you consider what we have now, someone as good as Sullivan hardly registers.

Ok, what was actually said was:

Asked specifically about West Ham, he replied: "I wouldn't dwell on the problems or previous owners.

"What I would say to you is that travelling to Birmingham City Football Club and now having left them, it's a three hour journey to get there and a three hour journey to get back.

"So I'd like to change that, now that I'm making a change in my life. I wouldn't want to go north of Watford to a new club.

"Is West Ham south of Watford? Yes it is, but so is Brighton, Charlton, Southampton - there's lots.

I was also aware of Sullivan being interested especially the purchase of the stadium aspect. Well before the pinnacle bid was even mentioned.

Also was aware that gold was also sniffing around from another source

But at the end of the day we have ML and co to thank for sdaving our club

Isn't it strange how luck works out...

The club was available but people couldn't do what they wanted, and then ML came along.

Interesting rumour that one WS. Let's think it through, ah ha, obviously was he Irish? Not many other choices.

Oh you meant THAT!?! Well, with the local Sat channel showing James Bond from the begining every night I think I'm firmly in the none of the above category, apart from a chick not as old as me who asks nicely :D

On the contrary, they would have had the place buzzing.

I'm not sure I know the ins and outs of the deal that was on the table.
