Oh i thought it was the NHS. Anyway it is wrong , we all have to pay extra insurance premiums due to high claims.

How is it wrong? Girl goes to a plastic surgon to make her look beter, Plastic surgon makes a mess of the job, girl gets compensation, simples.

Now we could enter the realms of was the surgery necassary etc. but that is a different set of ethics.

I cant see how your premiums will be affected unless you are also a dodgy plastic surgon ;)

she made her claim on the basis that it had finished her career. If she is now doing a new series that patently is not the case. Insurance companies lift their premiums to cover payouts. We end up footing the bill by increased premiums.

Not that i need plastic surgery of course as im drop dead gorgeous but others....

Clearly, if the procedure didn't work and it caused her damage/losses and the reason for the procedure not working was the negligence of the surgeon and/or clinic who carried it out then she is quite right to bring a claim.

She would have been awarded whatever was deemed correct at the time.

And further, the people who you insure your car with are not the same people who provide indemnity insurance to medical professionals.

You could say the same of a mechanic who messes up your car, or a plumbers who floods your house. It did harm her career, she was well worth a wipe when she was in men behaving badly, after that op cant say she had the same effect.

Think a few people have their wires crossed here.Yes she had a botched plastic surgery op that made her look like a fish, but the claim for damages wasn't to do with that,it was over a virus she picked up from a dirty hospital which she successfully won damages from the NHS over.

Nick is right, her case was that she would never be able to return to TV roles, which appears to be false,so she should pay some back,or to charity at least.

No, it's you that's missing the point.... the details of who botched what are irelevant. Let's just cut to the chase:

What effect will this have on NickH's insurance premiums?

I believe the NHS carries negligence insurance. If you or I claimed on insurance and then 'found' our stolen goods, we'd have to repay the insurance company.

I think the imperative for her to repay our NHS is greater actually.

She seemed happy enough to flash her trout pout all over the papers when shehad it done. I guess it was only when people made fun of hr that she actually realised how awful it looked!

I can understand why some people want surgery to improve their looks, but she wasn't unattractive was she?

I think the compensation was because she contracted MRSA whilst being treated for said broken rib in NHS hospital, so hence the loss of earnings!

She had lost a lot of her earning potential after she grew those lips. Her work had dried up.

I got the impression she claimed she would never be ale to work agian.Hence the large payout.

For once I agree 100% BTF.

Either way it costs us as taxpayers or when we take out insurance.

Indirectly it will effect my insurance premiums, due to serial claimants the companies load all our policies to cover for them
