Im looking into getting this for my gf who lives in ny and i was wondering if its worth it because she cant listen to the radio and its hard enough to see saints on tv here. I was wondering if it shows live games too that are on the tv?

It's worth it. You get live commentary of all games (home and away). Highlights from all the games. And regular pre-game and post-game interviews with the manager and some of the players.

And they're now showing the entire game against Torquay.

i usualy do but they also stop or are behind or skippy. Just feel 40 quid is abit steep for afew interviews and the radio.

Live streams are fine so long as you have no other processes running.

Ha sno-one got an account log in that can be 'shared' yet? When I had a subscription a few years back there were four or five people sharing it.

But that's technically very naughty. Especially when our club was desperate for your extra 25 quids to pay Euell's signing on fee each year...

A more grey one is you have your subscription and you listen to the commentary and then somebody calls you on Skype. You then have this dilemna do you turn off the commentary feed and talk, or do you accidentally connect the call but forget to talk and continue to sit there and listen while you type texts to each other about the weather, muffins, woots etc.

A probably not even grey one is the accidental placing of the radio by the PC Mike from the 96.1 broadcast, which is of course not as bad as having the web cam facing the TV set while you talk to your mate in some far off land.

Luckily of course I couldn't do anything so naughty as the evil Skype and all other forms of IP web based telephony is illegal in this country and their web site is blocked by Proxy

The new Saints Player is MUCH better than the old Saints TV. Quality of the highlights and interviews are great and the radio stream is not bad.

For me its a good deal and if you pay monthly, you can always cancel it during the summer........

Yet more illiterate drivel from Deanovski, but I think you are saying your girlfriend lives in New York? Aren't you like 10 years old or something? How sweet.

you are a F*CKIN W*NKER, you have nothing better to do you troll? Do you get kicks out of going online and being a grammar nazi, were you really that bullied at school?

Have you thought about getting a new girlfriend, someone who lives in the circulation of the Football Pink ?

Out of interest, did she live here then move away? Because i'm of the opinion that you cannot have those kind of feelings for someone you have only seen pixelated.

I think it's pretty good value as a current Soton exile. I would happily pay £1 per match to listen to live commentary. Given that it costs about £4 a month and that we will usualy have more than 4 matches in a month I think it's excellent.

If I lived in the Solent catchment area I wouldn't bother as you can see the goals on the Beeb and the extra footage is nice but not really worth paying for.

If you want to follow live match commentaries, and live outside the Solent reception area, you haven't really got a choice.

But I do have a couple of issues with it (yes I am a subscriber). I think it's a bit of a cheek to increase the price from 25.00 for CCC last year to 34.99 for L1 this year (40% increase). And from my experience, the quality of the audio stream on the new service is not so reliable. It drops out a lot more often, and you have to disconnect and reconnect quite often (but I am very far away).

And on the old SaintsTV you could download the video clips to watch later. Now you can only stream them live.

All-in-all, a lot less product for a lot more money. But what choice have you got?

I've found it pretty good (Dave Merrington excepted!). It only drops out if I'm doing something else on t'internet at the same time and even then only briefly with no need to reconnect.

I'm not so far away and I do have a pretty decent bb connection though.

For the Carlisle match, I had to listen to most of the game on the "Carlisle" channel. Solent was pretty much unobtainable. Never got more that 5 minutes uninterrupted. I don't think that one was down to the distance. Carlisle is a bit further away from here!

Oh, bummer :(

TBH at least you were spared Dave Merrington's "observations"!

"Saints will be wanting to score a goal now"

"I just feel it's important not to concede"

"It's vital to win the game"

etc.

LOL. I listened for the first time to Mr Merrington's musings on Friday. He really is master of the blindingly obvious.

There's a 14-day free trail offer on at the mo. I'm taking advantage, it seems good although there seems to be some issues related to viewing on a mac. I've not actually heard any of the commentaries yet, though. I wonder if Case is still on?? Now there's a man that knows very little about anything...
