Anyone know how Oscar Gobern's loan spell at MK Dons has been going?

 

Has he been playing? Has he impressed during his time there?

 

I rate the lad and think he could have a future at St. Mary's. I'd be interested to hear some feedback on his loan spell.

Oscar Gobern looked immense when he came on, fantastic vision and movement, definitely a player to look at. Dissapointed with Albie and Easter, who never really got into the game tonight!

Irrelevant point seeing as he is a youth player with plenty of learning to do.

Even Lallana didn't get into the first team when he was 18/19.

I'm not saying I'd have him in the first-team currently, in fact, I'd have Holmes, Mills, Mellis and Lallana ahead of him at left-midfield right now, but IMO he has potential and could develop into a decent player for us.

I have watched Oscar a number of times at youth/reserve level and always felt his best position would be central midfield.Don't laugh but he reminded me of a raw, Patrik Viera.Mind you i have also been known to be wrong.

Must admit I think he could end up in the hammond style of player. Hopefully with a little more end product.

Hasnt featured in a league squad for them and judging by Ince's 'we have brought him in to have a look at him' comments Im worried that we might sell him. Its clearly not a loan to gain experience. Bizarre as he seems a great prospect!

When we had no decent senior players to play ahead of them, yes.

last season against Reading at home I thought Oscar was the best player on the pitch... but what do I know!!

 

CM would seem to be the position for him

Don't disagree at all.

All young players who get their first outings look like a combination of Ronaldo and a three-legged camel... at sometime in the game.

Performances in youth sides (as you recall) are seldom mirrored in first team outings. (Consider some of those who were around when you played Colin)

 

Oscar looks a good talent, but only more games and tougher opposition will

show it. Hopefully it will be with us in a season or two, otherwise he will disappear to L2 / Conference... and re-appear in a CCC side in 5 years time when he's really matured...let's hope we don't lose his talent.
