S-Clarke Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 Busy day....! http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1821455,00.html I expect him to excel at that level tbh.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 If he wants to be seen as a league 1 level striker then he'd better shine in the conference south!!!
Huntingdon Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 I've noticed some posters on here rate White If he's going to BSS teams then he's clearly going to struggle to make the grade at this level, and definitely won't in CCC
bungle Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 I've noticed some posters on here rate White If he's going to BSS teams then he's clearly going to struggle to make the grade at this level, and definitely won't in CCC Nope. No young player has ever come from non-league football into the league. Nope. Never ever. Oh. I imagine part of this is convenience, he can still train full time with us, but play some games with Eastleigh.
saint_stevo Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 only recently come back from injury, needs games, makes sense
Clifford Nelson Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 If he is to shine he needs to play, and I can't see many league clubs desperate to sign those who can't get into our L1 team, because that is what we are. If JW does well at Eastleigh then there will be more interest elsewhere. Good luck to him!
Matthew Le God Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 I imagine part of this is convenience, he can still train full time with us, but play some games with Eastleigh. No chance he will train full time for us whilst playing for another team What a bizarre idea.
bungle Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 No chance he will train full time for us whilst playing for another team What a bizarre idea. Happens everywhere.
Saint Charlie Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 He was on loan in L2 last season so that is a bit of a step down TBF. Hopefully he will bang them in but time is running out for him to make it with us. Sad but true.
Colinjb Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 No chance he will train full time for us whilst playing for another team What a bizarre idea. Who was that lad of ours on loan at Tamworth who played in their cup run a few years ago? Trained with us in the week, played for them at the weekend.
Berkshire Saint Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 No chance he will train full time for us whilst playing for another team What a bizarre idea. Eastleigh aren't full time so would make sense...
bigchrisy Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 Pretty shocked he has been sent to a team of eastlieghs quality, should have gone to a league 2 team. Much better than paterson IMHO
Clifford Nelson Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 Pretty shocked he has been sent to a team of eastlieghs quality, should have gone to a league 2 team. Much better than paterson IMHO So the L2 clubs were queuing up for him, were they?
Andy Durman Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 What an absolute load of rubbish I'm reading. White is a great prospect!
smithy Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 This is to get him games after his injury and then re-assess him. Why do people have to put a negative spin on everything that happens?? We are getting our **** together! This is not the old Lowe Saints anymore. Some people really need to get it! Jeez!
dubai_phil Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 So Jamie White goes to a team 2 levels below us and gets slated as having no potential Yet when in the PL we lent players to L1 teams and heck, even Bournemouth, some of them seem to have benefitted from that. The lad has been injured he will not get into our new first team this season unless he plays and excels at a competitive level. Another wise move. # or 4 more to go and they'll be back next year with experience and footballing heads ready to give us a bloody good squad depth for our promotion push
St. Jason Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 I've noticed some posters on here rate White If he's going to BSS teams then he's clearly going to struggle to make the grade at this level, and definitely won't in CCC Give him a chance mate, he was out for a season with cruciate just when he was on the verge of the first team back in the championship. Don't forget mate, we are now league 1, teams want to loan in players that are going to make them better, not many CCC teams look down, would rather look for Premiership players not getting a game. I'm sure he'll make it for Saints and that Pardew is just sending him out to get first team action and to build up confidence, BSS is probably a better place to that rather than our reserves, oaimo

The negative kn0bs on here make my sh!t itch!
dubai_phil Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 Exactly that Phil. The negative kn0bs on here make my sh!t itch! Think that you can buy meds for that. Don't knock the negs too much though. They've been with us since before the dawn of time (well when Terry Paine was getting stick) Change is a really hard thing for any of us to accept and we've been suckered and scammed for so many years now, it will take time for them to come around. *****il we get shafted again somehow sometime somewhere) The moaners are fine it's the lunatic plain factually wrong ones that cause Jock Itch to start up
SFC Forever Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 I tend to think that the only way for some of our youngsters to progress is the loan market. Unless they are another Theo or gareth they will not find many chances of a game now at SMS. Give them some real live footy and you just might get a player or two that will benefit the squad in the future.
niceandfriendly Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 Sensible move for all concerned. He should do well there.

Very strange...
Bailey Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 Makes sense to send him out on loan and give him some game time. In theory, he should do well for Eastleigh in that division, but we'll see how he gets on. Personally, I'm not convinced by White but he's still young and he's learning so he could make a career for himself at Saints yet.
Saint Bones Posted 8 October, 2009 Posted 8 October, 2009 Let's hope he gets plenty of game time as does well. He always seems to be popping up in the youth/reserves reports when playing.
Saint_clark Posted 9 October, 2009 Posted 9 October, 2009 Shame he got that serious injury a couple of seasons ago, as he could already have a full seasons experience under his belt either out on loan or from last year.
Deano6 Posted 9 October, 2009 Posted 9 October, 2009 Who was that lad of ours on loan at Tamworth who played in their cup run a few years ago? Trained with us in the week, played for them at the weekend. Eddie Anaclet or Scott Bevan?
LostBoys Posted 9 October, 2009 Posted 9 October, 2009 He was a rising star until he was injured. I hope this is the start of his comeback.
Colinjb Posted 9 October, 2009 Posted 9 October, 2009 Eddie Anaclet or Scott Bevan? Anaclet, that's the boy. Whatever happened to him?
Clifford Nelson Posted 9 October, 2009 Posted 9 October, 2009 As has been disclosed today, Jamie White's agent was trying to get a league club interested but didn't succeed. For Chrxst's sake that doesn't mean that the lad is "rubbish". He is very young and has had a series of injuries which has had an impact on his career. Similar to Connolly, actually, when you think of it. Many clubs rightly worry about things like that. Is he injury prone? Is he good enough? The answer is that we don't know. He has gone to Eastleigh which is the second biggest club in the area. There he has a chance of starting to prove the doubters wrong. If he plays, stays fit and scores a few goals then the league clubs will be interested. It must be better for him to play regularly than to hang around our reserves, since his chances of starting a game for us at the moment looks remarkably remote. Let's wish the guy the best of luck.
suewhistle Posted 9 October, 2009 Posted 9 October, 2009 Whether any league club would have been interested in a player recovering from injury is moot. But with Eastleigh he can still train full time at Staplewood when they aren't having their own sessions and use all of Saints facilities, he doesn't have to face a disruptive move and live out of a suitcase, and his new team mates will certainly keep him up to the mark. Plus he gets first team experience in a physical league. Good move, in my opinion.
st alex Posted 9 October, 2009 Posted 9 October, 2009 Anaclet, that's the boy. Whatever happened to him? He plays for Stevenage, as Eddie Odhiambo.
Pugwash Posted 2 December, 2009 Posted 2 December, 2009 Thought I'd bump this up with people discussing current striker options on other threads. Anyone been keeping tabs on him? How's he doing?
ribbo Posted 2 December, 2009 Posted 2 December, 2009 oh we need a White Watch... looks like Jake Thomson scored last night : http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/t/torquay_united/8390431.stm

I still think Thomson will be a good player for us.
Scudamore Posted 2 December, 2009 Posted 2 December, 2009 Sounds like Buckle is really working hard with him there - will benefit us in the long term. I still think Thomson will be a good player for us. Looks like Buckle has been working so hard on him he's turned into Lloyd James

Scudamore Posted 2 December, 2009 Posted 2 December, 2009 Good reporting from the bbc, showing a picture of Tom Dunford on an article about Thomson shows what i know!
The Flying Finn Posted 2 December, 2009 Posted 2 December, 2009 He's been in every squad, but has rarely started. I don't think he's actually started a game. Still, he's a very good young player.
ribbo Posted 3 December, 2009 Posted 3 December, 2009 3 starts, 7 sub appearances, gone close a few times but no goals according to the match reviews on the eastleigh fc website.
SoccerMom Posted 3 December, 2009 Posted 3 December, 2009 Paul Whitehouse Lloyd James Couldn't resist...
