Anyway, going from that scoring record, if he can get fit he will do well. Welcome aboard, I hope to see him tomorrow night in some capacity.

 

Appologies whilst I go on a small ego trip here, but I said at the start of the season we needed at least 10 new players. You all thought I was crazy... :smt066

For this league that is a fantastic signing. Gone for big money in the past, scored everywhere he has played, mainly in Championship and Premier League.....if he stays fit we are really on to something here.

 

Papa on the wing, Lallana in the hole and Lambert and Connolly up front.

Scored internationally too, against the likes of Mexico...USA...he's; not got a bad CV at all as he?

 

Even more pleased when i think about it. At the end of the day, you don't need to be an amazing player to score regularly in this league....

Great signing, better than Saganowski IMO... and more importantly, a better attitude. Perfect foil for Lambo.

 

 

Really? Whilst Saga has made it clear he'd like to play at a higher level I doubt there are many that would question is attitude / effort who have seen him first hand when he has been given a chance.

 

Let's hope Connolly's recent injury record is something of the past. If it is then he could be a terrific signing.

152 goals in 366 appearances, including international appearances.

Roughly a goal every other game then. Could be a fantastic signing for us! :D

 

How would everyone play the team now then, possibly out with the 4-5-1 formation and in with a slightly modified 4-4-2? Unless Connolly is capable of playing on the wing of course.

Great Signing as long as he stays fit. Always been one of those Championship players I rated highly. Scored loads for Wimbledon, West Ham and Leceister. Also Contributed to Sunderland going up.

I want to know where all the ITK's have been for the last 3 weeks?

 

On paper we must have the strongest team in this leage and one that would also compete pretty well in the CCC I think.

 

Given a bit of time to gel and settle in we must surly expect to see a challenge for promotion. At least we can see what the intention is nice and clearly now. Teams of the past few years have looked like the intention has been to improve but played like the intention is to bail out. Its nice to see the whole club turning the screw to actually achieve something.

 

Weston told me on Saturday he had heard he was training with us, he posted it on here.

Awesome signing for us, a proven prem player when he is not injured. The type of scrappy player we need who will bust a gut to get into the box and onto the end of things. If we can keep him fit then it is a great signing, i'm guessing he will be on the type of contract Murty is. As mentioned above has an almost 1 goal every 2 games ratio.

also our guys in the know have let us down, how did you not find out he had been training for 3 weeks with us! Either we have become slack or our club really is run like a ninja camp these days where lesson number one is to become invisible!

Through all the critisism some of the morons give Pardew even they have to admit that his signings have been fantastic

 

Every single one of his signings have improved us. Even Mellis has now started to prove his quality, and he was the only one the jury was still out on.

 

I think it's a stark realisation of how bad we were last year, when our better players from last season (Gillet/Perry) cannot get into the team now...
