when is the draw for next round of the JPT

Now the when is out of the way anyone got any opinions on who we want?

 

Personally I'd like Hereford at home please (and for Charlton to play MK Dons so that at least one of the Southern area favourrites is knocked out).

Hereford, Aldershot or Leyton Orient at home in the Southern QF please.

 

Then one of those we don't knock out in the Area semi-final.

 

And the other one in the area Finals.

 

And I don't care who we lose to at Wembley. :D

 

Oh, or Northampton at home at some point, so any 3 from those 4.

Bit late for Aldershot since Hereford put them out last night. But yes a nice easy ride to the regional area final please.

In the match programme it shows the Southern Section split into two Regions - East and West. If we can only play teams in the West Region, then it's either Hereford, Swindon or Northampton for us.

 

MK Dons, Charlton and Norwich are in the East Region so at least two of those three will be gone by the area final.

I'm not 100% sure but i think it's only split into east & west for the first 2 rounds (same as was with the Carling Cup first round)

 

I wondered about that but the programme notes make no mention.

I think you're right

 

now it's just plain north / south

 

I'd take a home tie against anyone though.

No, its a North / South split all the way to the final.

Swindon away please as it's only 25 minutes down the road!

 

Don't want Northampton as ground is miles from a decent pub. Not been to Hereford, so would take that. Certainly not Norwich away!!

Southern area? Norwich is further north than Birmingham FFS...

What is your point?

 

It is based on splitting the number of teams in half with 50% of the southern most teams in one section and the rest in the northern section. It will of course vary from year to year where the north/south divide is due to different teams being in the competition due to promotion and relegation.

Can everyone please email the club to tell them to have a 7.45 kick off time, travelling from Weymouth is impossible with such an early kick-off and i'm sure many people were similarly affected.

(They're asking for feedback regarding the kick-off time here; JPT3@saintsfc.co.uk )

Only 5 minutes down the road for me and it would be good to put that horror show game in August firmly in the past with an overwhelming victory!

Luckily i managed to get away from work early, otherwise i'd have been struggling to make it. 7.30 wouldn't be so bad.

Interesting point, I assume Birmingham would be included in the Southern area as well.

 

They are indeed - the record attendance (outside of the final) in the competition was them vs Leyton Orient.

 

24,000 at Saint Andrews. Anyone reckon we can beat that with cheap tickets a good run of form leading up to a match?

does it really matter who we get. As so many on this forum moan about price, we not going and no more than a reserve game. I expect these people will be at Wembley if we get there.(Maybe first in the Queue PARASITES)

In english? I went last night & am a ST holder, t'was just commenting that £15 was a bit steep for a JPT game.

I have e-mailed. I was delighted with the 7pm kick-off time as I could get the last direct train back to Bath. This was excellent news. I have commended them on their wonderful efforts.

Best possible draw we could get would be something similar to this

 

Norwich Vs Charlton

Swindon Vs MK Dons

Hereford Vs Leyton Orient

Saints Vs Northampton

 

1 of Norwich/Charlton out & 1 team from the League 1 play off positions out in MK Dons or Swindon.

Not fussed who, would actually prefer home for once though, as done them all away bar MK Dons, and going there later in the season anyway.

 

Me neither but would prefer away as it is nearer than sms for this competition

It was £7.50 to ST holders on the night (with proof). The £15 walk-up charge for non ST adults was/is a bit steep for this competition and I'm sure they'd have had even more if they had kept it at a tenner.

Well said we went and we will got who ever. We pay ed £7.50 for me and Lee free as under 12 like the bit about parasites. Think it was only £10 if brought before the day of the game
