Saints Michael Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Oh dear time for another pull-out threat from Markus (did the job last time...allegedly).
benjii Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 why? we're 2-0 down and he was responsible for both of them (or so it seems) Bart couldn't do much worse and I hear he wasn't at all bad at Barnsley(well I think that was the bloke said, I don't speak Yorkshire so I might have got it wrong)., I happen to think KD is much better than Bart and Bart is really quite dodgy. That is why. I expect you knew that.
S-Clarke Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Oh dear time for another pull-out threat from Markus (did the job last time...allegedly). sorry?

Had this one down as a win in the Prediction league, now he's gone and done the "Commentators Curse" thing and mentioned the W word before we even kick a football.... Still, mustn't grumble, can save my airmiles for The Forum Match 2, Return of The Hamster and of course SA in June:smile: See, told you so! But the GOOD news is that Solent have an interview with Sultan Bin Trump at half time, should be good for a larf
saintjay77 Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 thinking im not going to go to work tomorrow. I usually like living in torquay. gona be getting some grieff tomorrow if i show my face and we get hammered. lol. think thats my last post of the night so gona have a few beers and comiserate/celebrate (delete applicable)
BadgerBadger Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Trust Saints to make a mess of something as simple as dispatching a lower league opponent in the cup. Delusions of grandeur already........
Saint_clark Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Phil WTF have you done? There are actual "edit, quote etc" buttons in the middle of your post.
Window Cleaner Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 tbf though.....i'd rather we lost this 2-0 and won away at Southend 2-0. not sure many fans would disagree with that. Well of course not, but up to now it shows that the very structure of our side is all wrong. We will probably still come through but Southend will be a hard task and they might not just roll over as Gillingham did. Remember we beat Reading away last season as well, but we were still crap afterwards.
dubai_phil Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Phil WTF have you done? There are actual "edit, quote etc" buttons in the middle of your post. You'd never tell I spent 16 years working here in IT would you? I blame copy & his mate paste. I'll get another Zubrowka should cure it... (BTW I really recommend it chaps is Polish with some Buffalo grass in it. Sweet)
Micky Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Second half comeback - run out 5 -2 winners - all is forgiven...!
benjii Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Well of course not, but up to now it shows that the very structure of our side is all wrong. We will probably still come through but Southend will be a hard task and they might not just roll over as Gillingham did. Secret Site Agent Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Just logged in. What the **** is going on, man. At least it's not the legue I suppose

Remember we beat Reading away last season as well, but we were still crap afterwards. It's the attitudes tonight that's wrong IMO. Too many players out there from last seasons shambles I'd hope to see 3 changes for HT....Mills on for Antonio, papa moved to the right and Saga up front to support Lambo, replacing wotton in midfield
Mark`` Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Bring on Sagawonski go 4-4-2 and bombard their box
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Indeed. Just shows one shouldn't go berserk over one dodgy half of football. But people only go all hysterical after a bad half never after a good one..
Window Cleaner Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 I happen to think KD is much better than Bart and Bart is really quite dodgy. That is why. I expect you knew that. Bart is dodgy, no question about that, I went to Rotherham last year. But a keeper who gives 2 away (without knowing the full circumstances of the penalty) isn't top drawer either.Probably just an off-night.
theyin Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 they need to buck their ideas up - i was sure we were certs for a day out at Wembley in this comp. Shameful if we lose this one
lordswoodsaints Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Oh dear,another 1 step forward 2 back season?
S-Clarke Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Oh dear,another 1 step forward 2 back season? like the last 5 seasons!
Saint_Jonny Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 When will we have a consistent team. When when when when when.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Not sure bringing on Saga will be the answer. If that guy ever scores another goal for Saints I'll eat my socks.
aintforever Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 We used to say that when we lost to lower league teams when in the top flight but now we are a lower league team so no great shock is it really? It was our one chance to win something this season, a trip to Wembley would have been superb. Now the best we can look forward to this season is finishing mid table in div 3 - woopie ****ing do.
John B Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 At least we have had one shot on target according to the BBc and 62% possession
Window Cleaner Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 When will we have a consistent team. When when when when when. but this isn't the real team. Our team has Jaiidi and Trotman at CB and Morgan, Hammond,Lallana and Mellis in midfield. This is our reserves basically.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 At least we have had one shot on target according to the BBc and 62% possession Need some "total football" then John?
andrew40 Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 This is a game where we should be going for it 4-3-3 and getting confidence and experience for our less played strikers alongside the regulars. We should be bombarding the box 2nd half. 4-5-1 against torquay, completely the wrong strategy...
SO16_Saint Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Oh dear time for another pull-out threat from Markus (did the job last time...allegedly). who said what now??? :smt100
dubai_phil Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Would it not have been better to have secured the money to buy the club before taking the club on? Priceless Sultan Bin Trump
John B Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 but this isn't the real team. Our team has Jaiidi and Trotman at CB and Morgan, Hammond,Lallana and Mellis in midfield. This is our reserves basically. But we are playing a League 2 / Conference team at Home

We should be bombarding the box 2nd half. 4-5-1 against torquay, completely the wrong strategy... 4-5-1 can easily be construed as 4-3-3. 4-3-3 can easily be construed as 4-5-1.
Leicestersaint Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Oh dear oh dear. We still have a long way to go don't we?
Window Cleaner Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Would it not have been better to have secured the money to buy the club before taking the club on? Priceless Sultan Bin Trump I don't know, talking money is easy, having some is something else. Hence the global credit crisis. The English like to talk big money, even if they've got 38p in their pocket, makes up for their lack of culture and small d*cks apparently.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 but this isn't the real team. Our team has Jaiidi and Trotman at CB and Morgan, Hammond,Lallana and Mellis in midfield. This is our reserves basically. I do believe we are fielding 6 1st team players?! ):
Saint_clark Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Oh dear oh dear. We still have a long way to go don't we? Well, yes. Even us "uber happy clapping fans" have been saying that.
sussexsaint Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Just got in from work and logged on may I add my own FFS!!!
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 But we are playing a League 2 / Conference team at Home We used to say its "only a ccc or league one team" when in the premier so what is the difference?
madruss Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 But we are playing a League 2 / Conference team at Home The reigning champions of this 'trophy' are a non-league side! Maybe the best players in this competition have trouble mustering the motivation...just a thought
Saint_clark Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Just got in from work and logged on may I add my own FFS!!! Oh admit it, you loled when you saw the score.
dubai_phil Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 On a brighter note Bunch of not regulars getting their chance tonight.... May help some of them understand that they rank alongside Pulis in the world of "being a real footballer" Which seems to be needed with their alleged Billy Big Bolox attitudes
andrew40 Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 4-5-1 can easily be construed as 4-3-3. 4-3-3 can easily be construed as 4-5-1. Good Point, lets just say I meant a DEFINITE 4-3-3! 3 STRIKERS not midfielders cum strikers
Minty Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 I'm at the game, and we need a kick up the arse, but the ref needs shooting too. Back to him in a mo. We showed some quality early on but it was almost too easy and maybe we believed that. The first time they put the ball in the box, KD comes and misses and the ball bobbles in off ssomeones back - that's how it looked. I won't blame KD until i've seen a replay becaise there were lots of bodies in there. pen looked very dodgy to me, again, replay required. We clearly have more quality but since the first goal, they've had their tails up and we need to get back to the ball-winning we showed in the first 15 and then add some composure to our play. This is far from over. As for the ref, keeps penalising our defenders but gives no protection to Lambert. Lots of dubious decisions, but ultimately it's not the ref who will win or lose this.
John B Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 (edited) I do believe we are fielding 6 1st team players?! ): Only the Loanee and Gillett are really reserves and they are coming off Edited 6 October, 2009 by John B
S-Clarke Posted 6 October, 2009 Posted 6 October, 2009 Saga on - Antonio off Gillett off (probably his last ever game for us) Mills on
