chrisobee Posted 7 October, 2009 Posted 7 October, 2009 Is it National Wind-Up Day today or something ? I think it's National "lets reach 3000 posts ASAP day "
Nineteen Canteen Posted 7 October, 2009 Posted 7 October, 2009 all 10 positions selected, imagine a full team of MLT !! Yes imagine, all 10 running for all their worth only when then had money on the game, allegedly. You've done well lads but imagine if the fans of the big 4 got hold of this acknowledged benchmark for the best Premeirship player of all time? My guess is MLT won't even get a trial and IMO will go back to colouring books as oppose to 'dictating' them. Now where is my tie? Need to know if it suits me or if the open neck attitude does make you appear a little casual in approach and appearance.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 7 October, 2009 Posted 7 October, 2009 I think it's National "lets reach 3000 posts ASAP day " We are all rooting for you Chris - 18 to go - you know you can do it. Take the easy option adopted by some and you could do it in 36 words and using just the 2 letters and 5 asterisks. In fact the challenge should be to do it using as few words and letters as possible or tell me to f*** o** if you think I'm a f****** c***. No restriction on asterisks. Good luck.

Thanks, it will now be 17 but those of us blessed with the ability to string more than 2 coherent words together should rise above using 2 letters and a load of asterisks. I'm sure you'll agree !
chrisobee Posted 7 October, 2009 Posted 7 October, 2009 What was the question again?? What question? Where ?

Nineteen Canteen Posted 7 October, 2009 Posted 7 October, 2009 What was the question again?? Was MLT involved in a betting scam or did he make it up to sell more copies of his book and cover the cost of his crayons?
chrisobee Posted 7 October, 2009 Posted 7 October, 2009 Was MLT involved in a betting scam or did he make it up to sell more copies of his book and cover the cost of his crayons? The latter TBH
westofshannonsaint Posted 7 October, 2009 Author Posted 7 October, 2009 westofshannonsaint re: Saints/ManU 6-3. Not the same game as the shirt changing episode. Think that ended 3-1, corrections welcome, (not too hard with the whip). I know that, but most fans here merge the 2 games (because that is the only time a team like Saints could beat Man-U), but I think I am doing football fans over here a little injustice, I am talking about the fans who think football was invented by Rupert Murdoch, but those idiots are always the loudest and most annoying. in fairness though I think (like most things on the internet), people are taking this FAR TO SERIOUSLY, and I am confident that the examiner will discount any votes where MLT has been voted 1 -10
Nineteen Canteen Posted 7 October, 2009 Posted 7 October, 2009 The latter TBH That's what I thought based solely on the fact the game in question wasn't televised. Do you know this for fact Chris or is that your considered opinion based on how the 'throw in' market was operated back then? Personally, as a loyal Saints fan who enjoyed MLT's on the field contributions as much as anyone else, I feel somewhat disappointed he hasn't given us an explanation over the whole affair. It just leaves me wondering if it was made up were any other stories embellished in the interest of sales? Or did he get the match wrong and it actually happened but perhaps not during the game in question? No doubt he has taken legal advice on this given the police's initial involvement and IMO has been told to keep his counsel. However, he was quick to do the 'book interviews' in the media to promote the book and IMO he should do something similar to clear up the issues it raised otherwise he is just taking le tiss out of those who bought it expecting to read an honest account of his life in football. Was it honest? (Has a book ever been more unfortunately named?)

It's just my opinion and based on guesswork really though the "throw in" market was a stupid idea and anyone betting on it would really have more money than sense! It is a disappointing saga but one I pretty much forget about except for the tendency for it, like many other things on here, to keep resurfacing !

Do you know this for fact Chris or is that your considered opinion based on how the 'throw in' market was operated back then? maybe the bit he got wrong was that it was against Wimbledon...maybe it was a televised game against someone else.
