My first ever 'proper' gf smelt of Johnsons baby talc, to this day I think of her whenever I smell it.

I hasten to add that she was 15 and I 14 before the vigilantes come a knocking. She was also head girl, which would have become obvious if you knew her as I did ;-)

I use to like the smell of Fawley as it wafted over Southampton City centre, having moved to north Hampshire at 4 1/2 smelling that coal tar aroma always told me when I was home. Doesn't seem to occur very often these days :-( .............. No doubt a relief to those who smelt it every day.

Fresh coffee

New mown lawn

Just bathed baby

Roast beef ( any roast if i`m honest ! )

Just baked bread

Some good ones there. I don't have a favourite, but here's a quirky one..

The pages of a new glossy book.

EDIT: The Fawley smell has to have the wind blowing in a slightly unusual direction to hit Southampton. The normal Sou' Westerly will have the smell and pollution riding over Portsmouth.

I used to live in Netley and then moved to North-ish Hampshire when I was 10, and I know exactly what you mean. Seeing Fawley (although Fawley stinks) and the smell of Southampton Water in all it's salt polluted glory reminds me I am home. Therefore that is another favourite smell. Polluted Southampton Water whilst stood on Netley shore... :D
