chrisobee Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Is that a reliable source, serious question as I'm not really familiar with it ! Question answered it seems!
chrisobee Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Yep, official SaintsFC Twitter account. Thanks !
chrisobee Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 What wing does he play on. Right wing: http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10306~45990,00.html
Pancake Posted 5 October, 2009 Author Posted 5 October, 2009 Right wing: That'll please certain factions.
RonManager Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 1 month - not sure I see the benefit in that unless there's an option to sign?
S-Clarke Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 I think he possibly impressed up there during the reserve game last month. pard's and wilkins were watching i think.
Matthew Le God Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 1 month - not sure I see the benefit in that unless there's an option to sign? There will be an option to extend the deal of course depending on how he gets on.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 A nice loan. Greetings from the sunny climes of Ibiza BTW. Hacked off actually as my itouch will not work with saints tvplayer so will miss the match commentary's this week. And all cos Adobe flash player is needed. Boo.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Wait for "i've seen him play" bla bla bla bollix from the usual 'know it alls'

Just do what that Pompey lad did and listen to it on you iphone - its free
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 A suggestion from Coppell perhaps? There does seem to be a big Reading connection to most things these days. Bit of a strange one though especially as it's only for a month.
beavis17 Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 looks decent, hope we're going to get a striker too though
Saint_Ash Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Looks like it's more like a trial before we buy.
qwertySFC Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Wait for "i've seen him play" bla bla bla bollix from the usual 'know it alls' I have not seen him play , however, his web site makes very interesting reading... http://www.michaelantonio.com/
St Marco Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Wait for the "he is going to be crap, why didn't we not get Ronaldo, Pardew hasen't a clue" realists.... Nice to see them thinking about the future of the club as well as the now. If he does well then sign him up. Scoring 7 goals from 9 games at that Titcham United as a winger shows he is at least better then that level.
hutch Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 looks decent, hope we're going to get a striker too though Why? We've scored 6 in the last 2 games. I'm already a bit bothered that there's 3 loanees in the first team now (PWN, Mellis & Trottman). We've just signed a 4th, and assume he'll play (otherwise why sign him?) Why bring in more "temps"? Permanent signings in January, that's a different matter. But no more temps, please.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 I have not seen him play , however, his web site makes very interesting reading... http://www.michaelantonio.com/ Very interesting

Wes Tender Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Right wing: http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10306~45990,00.html I looked at their website and their number 13 caught my eye. They have a defender called Reading Fans
paris Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Ahh... Le homme moderne... A nice loan. Greetings from the sunny climes of Ibiza BTW. Hacked off actually as my itouch will not work with saints tvplayer so will miss the match commentary's this week. And all cos Adobe flash player is needed. Boo.
Gordon Mockles Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Looks like it's more like a trial before we buy. Exactly what I thought. Month trial (loan) & maybe an option to extend or even with a view to buy come Jan. Pardew is certainly strengthening the right areas (other than right back). A good move. Waigo seems more suited to playing as a forward rather than a winger judging from whet I've seen so far.
Master Bates Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 I have not seen him play , however, his web site makes very interesting reading... http://www.michaelantonio.com/ Javi was quick
hutch Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 (edited) If I remember right, when we signed PWN up, the OS reported that it was 'till the end of the season, with an option to buy. This one doesn't say that. (Although it does say "initially") Edited 5 October, 2009 by hutch
Legod Third Coming Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 I am concerned. Either this bloke should be selling ice cream or be a racing driver. Clearly, he was not christened to be a footballer.
once_bitterne Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Pards really doesn't rate Holmes does he!! Also, after the shambles of a sub appearance that Mills gave against Rovers on Tuesday I think it might be a while before we see him in first team action again!
Legod Third Coming Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Never mind the scoring goals, does he do a good corner? James' corners on Saturday were excellent. At last!
SAR Boy Saint Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 I have not seen him play , however, his web site makes very interesting reading... http://www.michaelantonio.com/ Never seen boots like that before!
jam Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 There does seem to be a big Reading connection to most things these days. Bit of a strange one though especially as it's only for a month. Wally Downes?
Saint J 77 Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 On the surface It does seem to be a bit of a pointless loan signing. I mean he is going to have to find himself at this level before he fulfils any of his potential. I reckon that will take a lot longer than a month before that happens. If and when he does start to shine Reading will take him back and reap the benefits. So it does seem an odd deal to make right now.
percy windham Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 girlfriends father is a Reading fan, i shall ask him what he thinks when i see him next.
Weston Saint Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Saints boss Alan Pardew has played down Antonio’s arrival, saying that he is coming to St Mary’s for them to have a look at rather than expected to be an immediate first team player. He said: “I just thought it was a good opportunity because he wasn’t in the frame at Reading. “It’s just a month to see how we all get on. “There is no big fanfare about him and the fans shouldn’t expect too much and we’ll just see how we get on.”
a1ex2001 Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 39 posts and nobpdy has put up his football Manager stats we must be slacking.
the saint in winchester Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 I have not seen him play , however, his web site makes very interesting reading... http://www.michaelantonio.com/ Haha, good one. Who needs studs when you can wear killer stilettos! :-)
Genk Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Pards really doesn't rate Holmes does he!! Also, after the shambles of a sub appearance that Mills gave against Rovers on Tuesday I think it might be a while before we see him in first team action again! This chap plays right wing I believe. Therefore Papa can play upfront. Holmes on the left for me when fully fit.

Also, after the shambles of a sub appearance that Mills gave against Rovers on Tuesday I think it might be a while before we see him in first team action again! Pourquoi? Holmes can still pay on the left flank; this guy plays on the right.
shurlock Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Looks he 19, loaned for a month - he may never even get close to starting a game.
sad saints fan Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 A nice loan. Greetings from the sunny climes of Ibiza BTW. Hacked off actually as my itouch will not work with saints tvplayer so will miss the match commentary's this week. And all cos Adobe flash player is needed. Boo. No chance of a lift in tomorrow night then
Alright Dave Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Saints boss Alan Pardew has played down Antonio’s arrival, saying that he is coming to St Mary’s for them to have a look at rather than expected to be an immediate first team player. He said: “I just thought it was a good opportunity because he wasn’t in the frame at Reading. “It’s just a month to see how we all get on. “There is no big fanfare about him and the fans shouldn’t expect too much and we’ll just see how we get on.” Fair do's, he's on trial and the month's loan is a way of getting around the transfer window ! If he's any good we keep, if not then he's offski ! Simples (this appears to be the cool expression these days, although I would probably be the last to know) !!
Genk Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 In that case does that mean there is another loan signing on the way in the form of a striker. Or was this it?
Kingsland Red Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 A statement of intent from AP, signing a youngster on loan when he has already stated he has too much dross on the books? Time for some to be shipped out, to whatever level they should be playing at.
S-Clarke Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 In that case does that mean there is another loan signing on the way in the form of a striker. Or was this it? There'll be a stiker. Pard's as quoted, wants to bring in a ''quality 2nd striker'' to play off lambert and he'd look to be sorting that after the JPT game. This is just an random opportunity that orose, so we're taking a look.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Statement from AP - “There is no big fanfare about him and the fans shouldn’t expect too much and we’ll just see how we get on.” Sounds amazing!! lol
