Jillyanne Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 It seems everyone has different ideas on how long to boil them for...........................How long do you boil yours. I mean soft to dip toasted soldiers in (why are they called soldiers?) I go for 3 minutes and it usually works but if boiling 2, it's not as successful. Oh and I mean normal eggs, not Quails or Ostrich eggs.
Jillyanne Posted 4 October, 2009 Author Posted 4 October, 2009 Can a Mod change my title please to 'boiled', thanks.
Jillyanne Posted 4 October, 2009 Author Posted 4 October, 2009 Is that an egg you're gently sick over? No dear, I made the typo and Baj refused to change it - anyway............
Jillyanne Posted 4 October, 2009 Author Posted 4 October, 2009 Jill "Goes for 3 minutes" shocker. Yeah, to BOIL and egg Ponty not anything else, trust you to lower the tone. Then again he has been away 4 weeks.
Weston Super Saint Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 Yeah, to BOIL and egg Ponty not anything else, trust you to lower the tone. Then again he has been away 4 weeks. Boil AND egg Ponty! No wonder you have so much bile.
Jesus Reigned Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 I go for 4 mins, as I'd rather have the yolk not totally runny than have that uncooked white cr@p (or albumen I believe?) all over my soldiers...
Junction 9 Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 The term soldiers originally dates back to 1708 and comes from the soldiers of the Belgium army. At the time they were desecrating northern Africa and when hungry used to slice the top off the townsfolks heads and dip rustic breads into the brain.

And presumably travel back in time as well, to over 150 before Belgium existed... sweet
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 And presumably travel back in time as well, to over 150 before Belgium existed... sweet He meant the Italian army. Oh.
Draino76 Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 I use an egg timer +1 minute. I sincerely hope this helps.
Junction 9 Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 And presumably travel back in time as well, to over 150 before Belgium existed... sweet Are you sure? I'm pretty sure I know more about Belgium than you.
Draino76 Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 Oh **** I sincerely hoppe I have something sensible to say for my post 1000; not looking good.
jawillwill Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 Baj you're wrong. I have done History for my degree and averaged 98% and can confirm that everything J9 said is correct. That story is what I based my dissertation on.
Baj Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 Are you sure? I'm pretty sure I know more about Belgium than you. That I seriously doubt...
Mr saint Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 That I seriously doubt... J9 knows a lot about Belgians - belgian buns, belgian chocolates, belgian lard etc.
Dog Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 Any married woman who can't bile an egg is a retard.
