Mouldy Coat Posted 15 October, 2009 Share Posted 15 October, 2009 I don't give a rat's arse about foul language however a lot of people don't like it and I happen to think they are right. Another thing, just why do you think this thread and the reason for it has happened? I sit in an area that contains a large number of club seats reserved for staff and their families. I know for a fact that there has been a reaction expressed to me about some of the behaviour we have witnessed. Bearing in mind that some of these people have relatives that are connected by work to the very top, I'm not surprised that this has now happened. I was told by one of them weeks ago that it was going to be sorted. It certainly hasn't come from David Luker it is from way above him. Not disputing what you say, but the more vocal and anti social behaviour would come from blocks 1-3 only if the Itchen North was open. By closing 1-3 you now have more anti social behaviour closer to the seats reserved for staff/familes etc. It all makes perfect sense to open 1-3 ;-)
OldNick Posted 16 October, 2009 Share Posted 16 October, 2009 Nickh 2009 I would totally agree with you. Promotion push year, totally different story. Fair comment

Although sympathetic to the reasoning the Club wants to move this 'element' away from the corporates, I feel the closure of Blocks 1-3 has to a certain extent caused the problems in 4 and 5. You may well be right as this is what has happened since the closure, until then there wasn't a problem in blocks 4/
RonManager Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 Today I took advantage of the offer to move from the Itchen across to the Kingsland/Northam corner. It was done efficiently by the office and I got a cash refund of the difference. It was strange looking across at my empty seat this afternoon. trousers Posted 24 October, 2009 Share Posted 24 October, 2009 The kingsland/northam corner was much livelier today than I remember it last season. Made for a great atmosphere IMO

Being almost full, it provided a physical 'singing' link between the Northam and the Kingsland.
Saints foreva Posted 25 October, 2009 Share Posted 25 October, 2009 Apart from the first 10 minutes or so into the second half, I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent at St Marys. Prob the best it has been in a very long time.

I started taking my lad to this corner last season because he was getting to that age where he wanted to be "at the singing end rather than the boring end" (his words!). And the kingsland/northam was an excellent vompromse as it got him closer to the "singing" without being in the thick of it. But he was chuffed today as we inadvertently found ourselves in a livelier corner!

From my new lofty perch I was watching the influx today and noticed that the majority were bearing tickets but I did see a few STs being brandished about. oldsarum Posted 25 October, 2009 Share Posted 25 October, 2009 The kingsland/northam corner was much livelier today than I remember it last season. Made for a great atmosphere IMO The corner was closed for the majority of games last season, I sat with my mate in Block 35 many times last season and Block 36 to 39 was always closed. This season they started by opening block 36 and from Bristol Rovers game had it aqll open, it has been a great atmosphere in this area all season, and it's good for those with kids like me as you don't have to stand up all game so the kids can actually see the game !!
