beatlesaint Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 anyone know where Mills was yesterday ? Is he injured or has AP dropped him after his awful cameo against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday where he failed to help Harding defensively and generally looked totally uninterested ?
Saint_clark Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 I think it would have been harsh to drop him completely due to one game. (And not even a full game, it was what - 20 minutes?).
beatlesaint Posted 4 October, 2009 Author Posted 4 October, 2009 I think it would have been harsh to drop him completely due to one game. (And not even a full game, it was what - 20 minutes?). All depends if AP is going to teach some of these younger players sharp, harsh lessons as he has indicated he would, if he thought his 20 mins was totally unacceptable.......didnt he say some of them think they are better than they are after all ?
NickG Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 not harsh if Holmes/Mills are neck and neck for one position now - have to fight for it and perform

FFS, he came on and was ineffective, why the hell say he didn't look interested. What a complete load of utter ********. Was Harding not interested, because he was ****ing dreadful and had the **** taken out of him by Williams. **** in ell, players can play badly and still be interested.
Fowllyd Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 wants away to MK Dons And you've waited two years to post that?
lordswoodsaints Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 If anything he should have been dropped for his lack of fitness,he was on for about 20 minutes but was blowing like a donkey for 15 of those.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 wants away to MK Dons What's happened to Gobbern - didn't make their team yesterday? As for Mills I have always found his attitude 100%. Good little player imo - just needs a good coach.
Verbal Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 As for Mills I have always found his attitude 100%. Good little player imo - just needs a good coach. And there are signs of a good understanding with Harding...and he'll score goals. Definitely a rising star.
Sour Mash Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 What's happened to Gobbern - didn't make their team yesterday? . On loan to MK Dons currently.
VectisSaint Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 On loan to MK Dons currently. Maybe thats why FF said "their team" i.e. MK Dons

To be fair when they scored their third on tuesday, Mills was the only player closing him down.
The9 Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 To be fair when they scored their third on tuesday, Mills was the only player closing him down. Well, with the exception of Harding, who was jockeying the guy for the 5-10 seconds it took Mills to get back and nearly get close enough to tackle, when Harding had had already shown him the line and then forced him to go away from goal - before he shot from out wide and 20+ yards, which 8 times out of 10 is going to be harmless. Harding did pretty well at left back against Bristol Rovers despite being left exposed by his midfielder all match long, often against two players, and given fresh legs to try and defend against. Mills was put on as an attacking option with defensive experience but didn't do much to help out at the back.

But that was on the back of being pony at carlisle - and against colchester..... not at the races for me at the moment!

No you didn't ONLY ask was he dropped or injured, you questioned his desire and comittment to the cause and did so IMO without any justification whatsoever. You don't know your arse from your elbow like so many on here. Save your name calling for the play ground you child.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 4 October, 2009 Posted 4 October, 2009 Mills and Harding looked great down the left vs Charlton, not sure why it went a bit crap the last few games. Holmes and Mills offer natural width though, although he's a good player, Melis doesn't provide this.
