Oh dear, this comment has taken the shine off the win for me a little. It means AP will go back to the same mis-firing midfield as soon as Schneiderlin has shaken off his knock.

 

I advocated a midfield of pacy wingers wide and rock-like dominance in the middle earlier this week (though with Holmes instead of Melis), and I think it is the most effective way to play at this level.

to be fair you were outspoken that Melis didn't deserve a place - (I haven't been impressed either) but he was excellent yesterday - Gillingham could not cope. He played more central with Hammond -Wooton sitting behind them.
