greg_hill Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Our full time whistle went before it did at Molyneux so we got our first points before Pompey! FACT!
Thedelldays Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 great result.... very happy today, just need to follow it up and beat southend... one thing..seems I was very wrong about lallana playing off lambert in the middle of the park...he seems to be great I wonder what team will be put out on tuesday..we sould beat them, we have to beat them to keep the winning going into friday night..
alpine_saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 The elevation of team confidence is more important today than the manner of performance, since Gillingham are sh*te. I am hoping our players relish the taste of big victory and hunger for more.
John B Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Our full time whistle went before it did at Molyneux so we got our first points before Pompey! FACT! But they have more than us now
sperm_john Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 i'll eat my words, maybe it will work with pards! WoooOOOOoOOOOooT
Bromley Saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 If it hadn'e been for the 10 points deduction, we would be 12th tonight! COYR

SaintRobbie Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Slowly, slowly - let's not relish it all at once, eek it out - enjoy....!!! DAMN GOOD POINT THOUGH..! It is a good point - it shows we'll be mid-table at least if we continue as we are, which is frankly half a table higher than if we'd kept that prat Wotte and Mr Lowe..
Chris Larkin Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 COYR!!!! Now let's go out and beat Torquay on tuesday, wouldn't it be fantastic to get ourselves a trophy this season?
CWD Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Best day of the season - Im having a celebratory beer followed by several more! Yay for positive points! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT X 10
Rebel Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 I can't believe I decided not to go today after Tuesday! That will teach me!!
O_RLY Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Well done but I'll save my celebrations until we are out of the rele zone.
Micky Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 I can't believe I decided not to go today after Tuesday! That will teach me!! Faith - keep it next time...!
sad saints fan Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Well before I start jumping to conclusions and blaming individual players I will wait and see what people who were at the game have to say...............you what ? WE WON what are we gonna moan about now. WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
altoniansaints Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 possitive points will be a HUGE lift for the players and us fans! maybe the players can now play with a little less pressure. Pards targetted poss points by the end of Sept so only a few days behind shedule not bad! Now it`s time to push for being out of relegation place, would like to know when Pards is targetting that???? In my view we should set a target of end of Nov for that then mid table by end of Feb!
Lazlo78 Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Nice to finally get 3 points in style! Will be interesting to read how the individual players did - Wotton, Mellis, Lallana and James in particular...
Torres Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 If it hadn'e been for the 10 points deduction, we would be 12th tonight! COYR 15th, no? Either way, given what happened in the summer I reckon that's a reasonable start to the season. I can only see us getting better from here.
Bromley Saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 15th, no? Either way, given what happened in the summer I reckon that's a reasonable start to the season. I can only see us getting better from here. My mistake - 15th it would be! Anyway, a great result and now need to go onwards and upwards!
brett24 Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Next target get out the drop zone. Good win, got to keep it going though.
hasper57saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 We were rubbish! Only 4 - 1. Pardew out! (Only joking!) I think it's just a matter of time before this result will boost the confidence of the players. They played like winners today. WELL DONE - especially the Fans. You were really on-song. COYR
Phil the Saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 happy to be proven wrong Were we amazing? Pretty good I thought Lallana, Papa and Lambert all had very good games and on that performance will prove a handful to most defences.
saint_stevo Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Pretty good I thought Lallana, Papa and Lambert all had very good games and on that performance will prove a handful to most defences. Good stuff. Papa learned the offside rule?
Phil the Saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Papa learned the offside rule? Work in progress!
bpsaint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Great result, wondered what effect Tuesdays last minute loss would have on us and only spurred us on! My only negative today,no more corners for Papa Waigo please!!
St Landrew Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Very satisfied with that result. A feeling that has actually been all too rare these last few seasons. Almost better than the 6-0 drubbing of Wolves [odd, you may think], because I feel a proper corner, may have at last been turned, in Saints fortunes.
Saint Charlie Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Lallana is class. Where are all the doubters now? As soon as we put him in more dangerous areas he produces. Two great finishes.
gaz Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Great result, first stuffing (relatively) for a loooooong time!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Gotta say, the Lallana, Papa and Lambo combination REALLY worked today. Got to also say, Lambo almost had a 2nd with a sublime free-kick from about 30 yds out which was dipping under the bar - their keeper pulled off a superb save to be fair. James was the only player (in the 1st half) that was not performing, but again he was being set-out for attention as most of their attacks went down their left. If only he would put his foot in where it hurts - he missed the ball several times. Overall though an excellent, excellent TEAM performance that showed real class at times. Tactics spot on by Pardew. Onwards and upwards hopefully, but today we knocked over one target. Pushing out of the relegation zone is the next and we've got some teams coming up that will present a great opportunity for us to do just that. PS: A load of praise to the Northam crowd today - kept the songs going most of the game.
paris Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 I woke up early this morning while laying in bed i had this very clear feeling run through me that we'd win today ...... COYR..
brmbrm Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Back from game. I'm concerned that the goals from set plays have dried up completely. Can only score from open play. Not good enough. sarcasm
lordswoodsaints Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Wasn't at the game and didn't listen on the radio but well done boys and well done pardew.........time to kick on and justify the amount of money spent. No more sh1te games.make me eat my words and prove me wrong.
dellgirl Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Well done the boys. Just back ,.the first 35 minutes were terrible ,but as if by magic we started to play really well and kept it up for the rest of the match. Great win and in the +++'s..keep it up please
derry Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Waigo provided the width on the right all four goals were created because we were able to spread the defenders and make room. Mellis had a good spell for about 15 mins before half time, Wotton was solid but it would be nice to see how much better we could be if Holmes was wide left. Lallana took his goals well and looks like he could play off Lambert. Our left side is still a worry but the right side more than made up for it.
Easty Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Just home from the game, that was an awesome game. Well done Saints. Now lets get up that table. COYR
