sussexsaint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 lalalalalalalalallllllaaaannnnnnaaaaaa Again thanks to Melis I hope in the post match disection people are happy for once
alpine_saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Wonderful. Just what the doctor ordered. When did we last score 4 ??
dubai_phil Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Another assist for Mellis just for the moaners about our shape - what do we know eh?
brightspark Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Yay!!!! Lallalalalalalalalaaaaaaa!!!! Positive Points, now also a positive GD!!!
Bushey Saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Since little seems to be going on at St Marys, how about an update from Molineux? Wolves dominating, arguably should have had 2 penalties (none of which were clear cut but they will feel unlucky). Hopefully they will grab an equaliser. Hopefully they will grab a winner. In the 95th minute. An own goal off of the back of James's head. I reckon I might hear the sound of Pompey hearts breaking even from here in sleepy Zumerzet :smt043
Colinjb Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Yesssss! A comfortable win? Us? Not sure how to feel right now!
suewhistle Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Hah, it was me opening a bottle of Pedigree that did it... I couldn't wait for FT.
leithsaint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 last game for mellis for a couple of weeks right? Off on england duty. 4-1! 4-1! 4-1!
Micky Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Wonderful. Just what the doctor ordered. When did we last score 4 ?? I think that any Dr quotes are in bad taste to be honest - they might offend the BlueFew down the road...!
Minty Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 I was so wrong in saying he was not the answer to partner rickie Careful, someone like Thedelldays will reply to that and say 'Ah, but this is only one game, can he do it consistently'?
sussexsaint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 lllanna off for Gillett ??? not sure why should have had a hatrick
SaintRobbie Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 lallanaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 4-1. this boy is good up front.........wasted out wide.. I was so wrong in saying he was not the answer to partner rickie another assist for melles I think the great Lallana mystery of where to play him may have been solved.
suewhistle Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Would another be too much to ask for? Goal I meant
Arizona Posted 3 October, 2009 Author Posted 3 October, 2009 Hah, it was me opening a bottle of Pedigree that did it... I couldn't wait for FT. Chum?
alpine_saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 So, a midfield with balls and hunger (Wotton) does the business in a way a pretty midfield (Schneiderlin) can only dream of. Quelle surprise...
John B Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 lallanaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 4-1. this boy is good up front.........wasted out wide.. I was so wrong in saying he was not the answer to partner rickie another assist for melles I think you are right Lallana is not a midfield player and playing him there was wrong. Now he seems to be able to shoot properly things can only improve
Micky Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Bollix to an equaliser - hopefully they will score in the 95 and 96 minute to win the game...!! Hopefully they will grab a winner. In the 95th minute. An own goal off of the back of James's head. I reckon I might hear the sound of Pompey hearts breaking even from here in sleepy Zumerzet :smt043 Remind me - what is it they say about minds that think alike...?
dubai_phil Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 looks like a red coming for Gills Curtis Weston kicks Harding after the ball has gone out
Thedelldays Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 I think the great Lallana mystery of where to play him may have been solved. i think you maybe right.. after watching him play wide right or left...it just was not working..but where he plays now (just off lambert) it is working wonders... he was superb at times in the week..
bridge too far Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Hah, it was me opening a bottle of Pedigree that did it... I couldn't wait for FT. Your dog DRINKS its food?
madruss Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Wonderful. Just what the doctor ordered. When did we last score 4 ?? Wasn't it the 4-0 against Hull? Oh how the two teams' fortunes diverged since after that match
Verbal Kint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 So, a midfield with balls and hunger (Wotton) does the business in a way a pretty midfield (Schneiderlin) can only dream of. Quelle surprise... You are unbelievable... Shall we talk about Lallana?
sussexsaint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 boooooo should have been a red I could see that from here
Thedelldays Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 So, a midfield with balls and hunger (Wotton) does the business in a way a pretty midfield (Schneiderlin) can only dream of. Quelle surprise... to be fair alps.... morgan was fantastic the other night.... our undoing was down the left
John B Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 lllanna off for Gillett ??? not sure why should have had a hatrick Yes but Adam was injured during the week Surprised that Gillett is on thought someone more attacking would be employed
SaintRobbie Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 i think you maybe right.. after watching him play wide right or left...it just was not working..but where he plays now (just off lambert) it is working wonders... he was superb at times in the week.. AP will work it out. He's been experimenting with what he has. Once the results come and we're firm with his first choice team, we'll be fine.
St Landrew Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 No, I'm hoping for a 3-4 so I don't feel bad about missing out. I PREDICTED a 6-5 win with Trotman scoring a 93rd minute scissor kick from the halfway line. Both are possible. Thankfully, one isn't now.
dubai_phil Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Meanwhile, as Alps said when did we LAST score 4 in a League game? And this could be ONLY our 5th win in 2009 jeez no wonder we are in a state of shock
BigShadow Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 PS Arizona, when are you going to post episode 2 of your avatar? YouTube - Bull into crowd That should do it
Thedelldays Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 AP will work it out. He's been experimenting with what he has. Once the results come and we're firm with his first choice team, we'll be fine. I hope you are right as it has been a let down so far.. is the game on friday on sky...? would be nice to get back to back league wins..
alpine_saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 You are unbelievable... Shall we talk about Lallana? He's been great the last few games, and has completely proved me wrong. But let's face it, Pardew has taken a while to wake up, and the question as to whether this performance would have occurred without the bed rock of Hammond and Wotton behind him remains valid. Wish I could find the thread from a few days ago when I suggested playing Wotton alongside Hammond...
SaintRobbie Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Yes but Adam was injured during the week Surprised that Gillett is on thought someone more attacking would be employed AP is experimenting, he's won the game so looking at what he can get from what he has
alpine_saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 to be fair alps.... morgan was fantastic the other night.... our undoing was down the left One word, dude.... BALANCE
Glasgow_Saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Meanwhile, as Alps said when did we LAST score 4 in a League game? And this could be ONLY our 5th win in 2009 jeez no wonder we are in a state of shock Hull game (SJ hat-trick) when Burley was our leader?
suewhistle Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Your dog DRINKS its food? You uncouth lot...I'm drinking Marston's Pedigree. Mind you, I think my relaxed feeling has more to do with 4-1 up than the beer....
NY Saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Watching Bolton vs. Spurs and reading the text updates here is a pretty good start to a Saturday. Reads like we're actually improving and dominating which is a relief.... only four more years to wait and we might be back on TV in the US
Micky Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 What's the weather like at St Marys? Although not there - I can confirm that it is no longer -1 though...!!
Thedelldays Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 One word, dude.... BALANCE it was the other night...against a far better team than gillingham, hammond and morgan ran the middle of the park..hence we we were only ever out-done wide (and it was very wide) left...
brightspark Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 And this could be ONLY our 5th win in 2009 jeez no wonder we are in a state of shock Not quite that bad: Cardiff Preston Ipswich Crystal Palace Yeovil So would be the 6th.... I think I might have forgotten one more, so it may be the 7th... still cr*p!!!
leithsaint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Just got a text from my brother. He reckons Wotton has been the key. Playing with a lot more confidence.
Chris Larkin Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Wasn't it the 4-0 against Hull? Oh how the two teams' fortunes diverged since after that match Yeah, Stern John hat-trick. I still find it hard to believe that of all the wonderful players who we've seen at St Mary's, only Stern John and Jamie Scowcroft have got competitive hat-tricks. Still, Hull then went and at thrashed us 5-0 at the KC in March. I will always remember that scoreline, as it was on the day of my 18th birthday. Nice one Saints!
alpine_saint Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Just got a text from my brother. He reckons Wotton has been the key. Playing with a lot more confidence. An old head with a bit of authority. Is it really rocket science to so many ?
SaintRobbie Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 An old head with a bit of authority. Is it really rocket science to so many ? It was to Lowe and Wotte.
dubai_phil Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 Just got a text from my brother. He reckons Wotton has been the key. Playing with a lot more confidence. Solent saying he has just sat back in front of the defence and broken things up, giving the platform for Hammond et al to get further forward. As long as he is not needed to create things this could be a good move as I'm not sure Morgan or Hammond fit that role. Meanwhile Holmes is coming on could be a good start to get him match fit again
John B Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 AP is experimenting, he's won the game so looking at what he can get from what he has Well seems to rather strange to me Why not give Holmes a go or give Patterson a run out
