bungle Posted 2 October, 2009 Posted 2 October, 2009 I see that Audley Harrison has been installed as the bookies favourite, but I think 13/8 on Danny Williams offers some fantastic value, I don't think he'll bottle this. However, not really watched prizefighter before, and I presume it disadvantages the more 'mature' boxer due to the short format? Any thoughts?
Hatch Posted 2 October, 2009 Posted 2 October, 2009 I'm quite looking forward to this. Going to be interesting watching the big guys trying this format. Anyone who puts any money on Audley must be mental. The trades description act was introduced purely because of him and his pro boxing career.
bungle Posted 2 October, 2009 Author Posted 2 October, 2009 Thing is though, he clearly does have some talent, somewhere. And he has knocked out Williams before. I can't see much from the other 6, though. Gammer was absolutely destroyed by Danny Williams, and Scott Belshaw was knocked out in two rounds by Tyson Fury.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 2 October, 2009 Posted 2 October, 2009 It all depends on what Danny Williams turns up? he should win but i think his punch resistance is **** poor these days. Fraudley might throw enough jabs to win it and knows it's really his last chance saloon.
bungle Posted 2 October, 2009 Author Posted 2 October, 2009 Well, I was wrong, and Audley looked good, to be fair.
Thedelldays Posted 3 October, 2009 Posted 3 October, 2009 the whole thing was a bit crap to be honest
bungle Posted 5 October, 2009 Author Posted 5 October, 2009 It wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but there were some decent moments. Certainly better than Murray v Thaxton on Saturday night. That fight was stopped too early, I think the ref could have let Thaxton get to the end of round 4.
keithd Posted 5 October, 2009 Posted 5 October, 2009 Right result. Altho I'm not a fan of Harrisons he deserved to win the final, not for his display, that was very lacklustre he almost seemed bored, but for mateys blatant nut on him!! How the ref missed that i've no idea.
