Back from the brink - Southampton think big

So to sum up then, you are willing to highlight others lack of work ethic and discipline to succeed, yet you yourself lack the work ethic and discipline to succeed because you can' be assed to find out how to bold it - bloody typical...! ;)

No mate, there's nobody here with me in my boudoir that I can ask how to bold phrases, and as you have given me no indication on HOW to do it - just bolded it yourself - I am no nearer knowing. It's not right-click, is it? Care to share your knowledge?

If someone asked you HOW to bake a cake, would you simply give them a cake? Cos that's what you have done here. ;-)

Its really straightforward. All you have to do is highlight what you want bold by clicking over it with the mouse, then click the B at the top of the box.

Otherwise, you just type [ B ] before the first word and [/ B ] after the last word and that's it. Just leave out the spaces. If I had not inserted the spaces after inside the brackets, it would have made "before the first word and" bold type. See?

Testing [ B ] 1 2 3 [/ B ]

Close, but no cigar. The best way (I think) is to highlight the text you want in bold, then press Ctrl+b on your keyboard. Like this. It puts the marks Wes mentioned round the text, as you'll see if you quote this post.

Well Well Well an interesting read

Cortese's plan is for the club to win promotion from League One in two seasons and reach the Premier League in five years. He does not expect Liebherr to enjoy a return on his investment until the club returns to the top flight but reckons Saints can break even in the Championship. In the meantime, there are funds available for Pardew to mould his squad.

Yep - I'd go with that strategy.

I feel a lot more at ease having read this cortese interview. The big question: who sent him THAT email he refers to in April alerting him to the club being in admin? Oldknow?

No I don't think it was AO.

I did meet Andy recently and sort of asked him but he admitted that his involvement in ML buying Saints to being miniscule.

I liked what I read in the article but I have a nagging doubt re AP because of what Reading/West Ham and Charlton fans think of him.

What do reading fans think of him?

I can only think they have a bad memory of him because of the way he left for west ham - i thought he was quite a success there on the football side of things.

..and also West Ham, i know a few hammers and they really liked him and said to me personally that we've got a v good manager there...

Testing 2 - I give up

Ctrl and b only works in IE. It will do nothing in FF or Chrome.

Highlight the text and click the B above the white message box, or wrap the text with [b.] [/b.] (removing the full stops i have put after the B's)

Just worked for me in Firefox - always does, come to that. :)

I think this article tells us more about Leibherr and Cortese, namely that they are developing a love for our club, and it's not just going to be an ego toy, or quick fascination. It reports that Markus has been studying the club and it's history and familiarising himself with past results and players and Nicola is showing that nervousness before a game that all supporters go through from time to time.

I think the paragraphs down from and including the piece about the match at Charlton and Nicola's comments to their chairman also say something about them, they are ambitious and are not going to hang around forever if things are not going the way that they want them and in a manner in which they want them to, they will act to ensure that progress is made.

I may be reading something into this that isn't there, but to me those few paragraphs and especially the one where Pardew says that he doesn't want us to be the Man City of league one, says that Liebherr and Cortese want more than they are currently getting and are urging Pardew to add further players to the squad at whatever cost it takes to get them. So if Pardew hasn't pulled it around sufficently come January, then I think we'll see a bit of a spree. The question is though, will it be Pardew that gets to do the spending?
