Apparently the Itchen North is now Season ticket only.

No consultation from the club, just a dictate handed down by Luker.

After everything that our club has gone through, and how much we were encouraged to shell out for season tickets, again the fans are being treated as second class citizens.

I bought a season ticket in the Itchen North and expected to be able to buy extra tickets to be able to sit with mates who can't go regularly. But some faceless, pointless, middle management apparatchiks has decided that has to change; just as on the opening day of the season people who had shelled out £300 + on a season ticket in the back four rows of Block 4 turned up to find they have been moved, again no consideration for the working man who paid pay their wages.

When we're back in the Premiership and sell out 32K every week the pen pushers can take liberties until then a bit more respect would be good.

But what is behind Lukers latest attempt to kill atmosphere at SMS? Maybe he could come on here and explain it as he hasn't bothered to explain it to the paying 'customer'.

Hmmm, that's not good is it! Have you written to them to tell them what you think?

As a season ticket holder in the Northam I think that more should be done to get fans in the Itchen North, not push them away. The Itchen North provides noise and atmosphere the other side of the away fans which is good and that should be encouraged, not discouraged. This is quite ridiculous, I understand your frustration.

I complained to Luker regarding the killing of atmosphere within SMS due to its closure. Stewards have said they do not know why it was closed as they use similar amounts still. The club have the option to close the angle of seats in the away section to create even more of a barrier if required. Maybe someone should have a word with Oldknow and get him to sort Luker out.

Or maybe someone could just email David Luker and ask him about this decision. It's one thing slagging the guy off on a message board, and other thing entirely to try and ascertain a few facts.

It might just be that he's just carrying out someone else's instructions?

I agree with Throbber, I've not always agreed with David Luker in the past but he is very approachable and I've no doubt would respond to an email with his reasoning.

I have you muppet and await a response. But thanks for the advice "Ribbo" (your real name or are you faceless?)

For Christ's sake. You lot could get abusive arguing about the colour of the ****ing grass!

Give it a rest, I've got a headache.

Probably best to get off the computer then and take a couple of paracetamol. It's a fair comment about the Itchen North. Minimising noise there is only going to make away fans sound louder.

Atmosphere at St Marys has been ****e every since the Itchen North got shut. Almost every set of fans who come in numbers make too much noise - that never used to happen when you had two vocal set of supporters on each side.

How come the Kingsland corner was open last night?

Liebherr out!

Saints shooting themselves in the foot again, as stated above the away fans often found it hard to outsing two sets of Saints Supporters who in turn were trying to outsing one another. I thought the little block of supporters there Tuesday looked terrible and sad.

Police are there to Police and stewards to steward surely?

I have a feeling that all the people that stand up during games in the itchen north will soon be recieving letters to their homes in regard to this "illegal" activity.

All of our addresses are on the data base

As i said on the other thread it is ridiculous. If every fan in the ground just sat still for one game and clapped politely which it seems is what they want then we would all be slated for not getting behind the team.

I too get extra tickets every so often for friends / family so now i have to tell them to sit miles away even though there will be hundreds of empty seats in block 4 and 5 now.

A girl who sits in my row who must be about 8/9 received one of those letters, she was only stood up because she couldn't see due to the matey infront standing up, stupid but hey hoo.

So she had to suffer, by standing, because of someone in front of her who didn't give a damn. It might explain the course of action taken by Mr Luker (who, incidentally is a decent bloke).

If you want to stand go in the Northam, that's fair.

Don't start them on the mowing patterns. Personally, I enjoy the circular ones as it reminds me of most of the arguments posted on here.

Why don't you get a job as a groundsman? If you could persuade head honcho to let you sit on the mower, we tould turn up to a mowing pattern of "I Hate McMenemy" in ever-decreasing circles.

Are those the ones that regardless of the subject matter, somehow manage to end up involving McMenemy, MLT or Crouch? ;)

Quite and back at you regarding most things we have discussed in the past year.;)

There is definitely an increase in fans standing throughout the Itchen and more stewarding activity. Why can't fans simply abide by the rules of the club and stop ruining the game for everyone else. As always it's seems to me to be the vocal and well fuelled minority who think they are better and above everyone else who are adhering to club policy and respecting those fans who wish to sit behind them.

If you want to see evidence of all the social ills that inflict life in this country then attend a football match and you see most of what is wrong mainly an inability to live a life respecting the laws of the land and the lives of others. Contemptible.

Before you go off on one and sh*t-stir why not phone the guy and try to understand what reasons lie behind the decision. It's no good moaning at us and rabble rousing without facts.

The 'Poor Little Me' routine wears a bit thin frankly,

Totally agree and the reason given has been shot down in flames.

another sad example of the slow death of football as a lads day out in this country. it really really winds me up how much of an effort is made to kill the noisy areas of the ground. No harm is being done, everyone benefits from a better atmosphere. My hatred of stewards and pointless football bureaucrats increases every time I go to a game.

Blame the Government , the FA and all the other international busybodies for spoiling your fun, I'm sure the Club is following the rules and will be penalized if they don't.. Oh happy days...or have people complained about behaviour..only asking

I pretty sure it's local government and the city council that deals with licensing issues. Since the new lot have taken over they have been flexing their muscles, whereas before (to a certain extent) there was a blind eye approach.

Perhaps it is part of NC's idea of moving the away fans.I think it would be great to have the fans who sing at one end like a kop.We do not have an intimidating end that away teams would hate to play to.If that is being addressed then it can only be a gtood thing long term.I have great respect for that corner but joined in with the Northam it would make a racking end for the team to attack too and perjhaps we may see more wins at home

Well it's good to hear that David Luker considers it an important issue. Thanks for the info Kardeem.

Case closed on this one then.

I have no idea about this partuclar issue in the Itchen, but I echo the praise for Luker's responsiveness to supporters. I wrote to him this morning complaining about tuesday's unannounced late closure of car park B and got a reply within minutes, followed by further communication from a more appropriate employee.

Personally I've got him on the "one of the good guys" list.

Docker has been slightly miffed since the game on Tuesday, I don't think his angst had died down just yet.

I think i know Kardeem well enough now to know that he's not the sort to make light of such an important issue.

My hunch is overcrowding. I have a ST in the Itchen North and there was a tendency earlier on in the season for fans without the right tickets (wrong seat numbers/row but correct block) to flock there and people with the right tickets to be crowded out (exacerbated by the surprisingly big attendances for matches like Brentford).

Needless to say there was quite a bit of aggro as a result of this game of musical chairs - hence Luker's actions (I generally think he's a good and committed bloke).

Of course, the problem could have been avoided by opening/freeing up the back few rows which had been sanctuary for people with and without the right tickets who only wanted a common place to stir up some atmosphere.

The club love to tell us to "Get behind the team", but have made every effort to kill off one of the most popular and atmospheric parts of the ground, p******g off long standing and loyal fans.

Hmph, he hasn't replied to my lengthy rant about music being played after goals yet.

Admittedly I did send it the day before we went into administration, but that's not the point, surely ? :D
