And how many of their best players did they manage to keep? Did they go into admin and start on minus 10? Nope, I don't think so. Selective memory to try to prove yourself right.

 

Well if you are happy with one win out of ten and are not worried about the future under Pardew that is OK by me.

 

 

But other people are concerned that despite money being spent on the squad to improve it results are not at all good.

 

Usually it is very difficult to address poor results which proved the case with Pardew at Charlton so there is always the possibility he will fail.

 

 

However there is the possibility that things will improve but nothing is certain so lets hope we start winning soon .

 

 

With regard to minus 10 Leeds if I remember were in administration on -15 but managed to win lots of games and got to the playoffs

You tell me how the results from the last 10 matches fit the "plan". I am disappointed in you, WA2. After the way we stood side-by-side a couple of years back, its a pity you have resorted to abusing those challenging the "progress" we are making.

I dont want to fall out with you darling, those Burley memories I hold close to my heart, oh how we danced the night away when whiskey george finally got the bullett :smt049 But seriously Alps, how is sacking the manager going to help, a new manager would unsettle us further, players would leave, staff would leave, and we would be a laughing stock again. Stability is VITAL, you cant expect to get to your destination if you keep going back to the beginning and starting again. A lot of it was Lowe yes, but most of it was the brainless tactical decisions, Jermaine Wright, and the 'alleged' drunken coaching sessions. Dont let us fall out over this my sweet xx ;)

How do you manage this - thought you were a pro golfer? surely pro golfers play golf on a saturday?

 

My tournaments are generally Monday/Tuesday, or Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, depending on which tour I'm playing on.

Lol that's right I'm lying. Ok, whatever you want to believe. I was at East Sussex National this Monday, in a 1 day event. Last week I was at Mentmore playing a 2 day event. The week before, Caversham Heath, the week before that, Studley Wood. All 2 day events on a Monday and Tuesday.

 

I just made all that up though didn't I!

the midfield - hammond is better than this divsion, just needs to find the balance (and based on brizzle thats not a million miles away). front two needs work.

 

this is a five year (not five minute) plan.

Hoddle Strachan Redknapp Burley left for Pastures new

 

Sturrock did not fancy the job and Pearson was too costly possibly

 

Mind you I agree that stability is a good thing but not that common theses days except at the top clubs

 

Sacking Pearson was the wrong choice in my opinion, but yes, stability is a good thing.

Hotel wi-fi, iPhone/Laptop.....it's amazing down here in England how technology has moved on.....come down sometime and have a look at what Scotland will look like in 20 years time!!

Stability is not necessarily a good thing. Stability is a means to an end, not the objective itself.

 

Stability under Stuart Gray would have meant earlier relegation

 

Further stability under Glenn Hoddle could have taken us to the top 3 in England.

I don't play on the Tartan Tour. (That's not a racist comment by the way, the Scottish National Tour is called the Tartan Tour).

 

My tournaments are in England and in America sometimes. And next year, France, Spain, Italy and dare I say it......Austria!!! Ahhhh!!!

It has already taken four years and we are now in the worst league position since I have been supporting the Saints in almost fifty years.

It's been 2 months since the new regime took over. Who care about the last 4 years or 50 years. It's a brand new start. Brand new.

I dont think Stuart Gray was capable of stability never understood why he was appointed as results were poor in the games he was in charge after Hoddle left.

 

 

But lets face it there are not many consistently good managers anyway

 

Apart from Bruce Moyes and possibly Allardyce away from the top teams

We had a new start with Mr Wilde and that nearly worked out until the money ran out

 

Results were a lot better even with Burley in charge

To all those that want change now, who are you suggesting should come in? And what if whoever came in didn't pick up a win within 6 games say..........would you be calling for their head again!!!???

 

To change the manager now with only a handful of games with hisplayers would be ridiculous and we would be a laughing stock. What manager would come near us knowing that they have a handful of games to get results?

Our start under WGS was cack.

 

Our start under Pardew has been cack.

 

Under WGS, our form improved and we were ok in the end.

 

With Pardew, our form will need to improve if we are to be ok in the end.

Something else. We couldn't beat any decent teams. We beat three teams, Leicester would go on to be relegated (finish bottom on 28 points), Sunderland who finished 4th bottom and Charlton who finished 6th bottom and lost at home to Leeds (finished 5th) and Blackburn (finished 10th).

 

Does that help any of those reaching for the noose?

You can count the number of people who want change now on the fingers of one hand. I am not one of them, but I am worried. However, the number with doubt about whether this set up is going to work and may want change at some unspecified point in the future is slowly increasing.

As a statistics nerd myself, I agree with your point.

At least we can see that starting over isn't always easy.

 

I don't have my In that Number to hand, but i bet Lawrie Mc Menemy's first ten weren't much better and we got relegated his first season in charge.

No, that was Stuart Gray.:rolleyes:

 

(Delap)...(SG)... who also bought Anders Svensson at the same time.

 

Gray got the sack soon after and successive managers played them both " out of their natural positions ",

and they forever felt the anger of fans disappointed at their performances. (!) .and both did infinitely better after they left. :(

I remember going to see that Derby game, it was horrid. That was the one where Jones was hanging on his bar when as the ball just dropped in.
