Its not the Grim Reaper. It's Rorschach from the film Watchmen, and the character tends to see things as absolutes, black or white, which I thought was an interesting analogy as to what I tend to feel about SFC.

he failed the rorschach test then*

*intellectual joke, but not a very funny one

As in the last ten minutes..........nothing. The last six months is another matter!!!

Anybody would have been excused for being negative about our prospects throughout last season and the closed season when we were in administration contemplating our very survival. Many could be excused for feeling a bit nervous about our start to the season, bearing in mind our traditional mindset historically and the appointment of a new manager.

However, there is currently cause for some cautious optimism in the short term, which will hopefully translate with success into full-blown happy-clappy bravado for the first time in many, many years.

Is it only me that thinks this thread has gone off the point completely ? smileyvault-hijacked.gif

I dont think it has gone off the point at all. It has become personal, as usual, but all the threads tend to do that.

So it has gone totally off the point and as you say become more of a personal issue. What has that got to do with the original topic? Nothing I suggest though I'm not going to go even further off the beaten track and argue the point!

Come on then, what I have I been negative about recently ?

We have crossed swords a few times Alps but I would say that you have not been especially negative in past few months. I can think of other more guilty parties than you.

Couldn't find any thread on this and didn't want to start a new one so thought I would post my grievance here - seemed the most apt.

I would love to know who the morons were who said Billy Davies teams play nothing but rubbish... Just reminded of what a good manager he is by watching Forest v Toon at the moment, his team are playing some cracking stuff - like his team at Preston did.

Derby played to their strengths, and to have a manager recognise and adapt to the players at his disposal is a quality, not a strength.

Regardless.... I just wanted to vent that...

there were so many idiots at the time who hated davies for non footballing reasons...as he dared celebrate with his team....

they were the same people who said ince is crap..yet apparently HIS MK Dons team are the biggest test for us...

It's the same all the time though, TDD. I am going to try and concentrate my efforts on the fact we won a today but the watching Forest reminded me of constantly posting OVER AND OVER AND OVER again defending Davies ability as a manager and rebuffing the 'certaintity' that he was a long-ball merchant.

I think Ince is an 'assembler' - like Keane, Blackwell etc. No real coaching ability but have sides that always do well due to the quality of the players in that team. That is, of course, only IMO.

I mean, look at Keane. He's not gone mad at Ipswich with the money and he's being found out, BIG TIME.

Haha on the flipside though... I cannot stand Ince and think that L1 is probably his level. He's assembled a great team, but he's from the same managerial school of Shearer, Keane etc....

Having said that, he does have a better record than any of the above so I will reserve any further judgement. Can't knock his MK Don's side so far though... :-o

Having monitored this particular thread for the best part of 3 weeks, I wasn't too amazed to find that the original poster - "DOCKER-P" hasn't even had the decency to take part in the discussion. At a time when common sense was needed - that it would take time to get the right blend of players in, make sure the manager was settled, ensure the club was starting to function again as a cohesive unit, all we seemed to hear at the time was the same old panic such as the ridiculous rant below from one of many impatient, fickle posters on this forum. Be patient!! Look at how well we're performing now.....

ORIGINAL POST FROM DOCKER-P

"At what stage do you think Pardew should be sacked? If we're in the bottom four in November, December, March, or May? Is one win in ten not good enough? One win in twelve, fifteen or twenty? It's all well and good the moral majority saying "give him time", "progress is being made" etc etc, but there must be a point when everyone would say enough is enough."

It's all well and good the moral majority saying "give him time", "progress is being made" etc etc, but there must be a point when everyone would say enough is enough.

So what is it?

Do you now think the moral majority who said "give him time" had a point and progress is indeed being made??

What a stupid thread!

Thought it should have been consigned to the archives ages ago but it's a bit like a soap opera, just runs and runs. Has been a pointless thread for some time now IMO.

Just wait for the inevitable blip in form (going by some people and OP, that could be just a draw and a loss lol!) and this place will be full of ''AP OUT'' threads.

I'm glad most of us were able to have the foresight and vision that we're moving forwards, and are sensible enough to know that 10 matches does not make a manager.

I couldnt give a damn if I came top of such a poll.

If the sheep want to follow each other and accuse me of things I havent said, like "Pardew Out" it is more a reflection of their ability to observe and think about events independently that it is about my "hidden agenda".

There is even a post on here accusing people of not saying "Pardew Out", but thinking it, FFS.

Some people cannot handle different opinion, and thats the entire crux of the matter.

Then you would be one of those people Alpine as I have lost count the number of times you have fired off personal abuse at someone with a different viewpoint to you!

Everyone's against Alpine, don't ya know? It's not his fault, everyone is just out to get him. It's nothing to do with anything he says or does, we're just all trying to have a go at him, just because we feel like it.

No it won't, just the usual *****s smugly droning on about Ted Bates.

At the end of the day Pardew is delivering instant success, not "he needs three years before anyone can expect anything" claptrap we hear from Sadoldgit and the rest of the pompous farts.

This from the person still going on about Burley and Lowe :rolleyes::rolleyes:

As I said you don't get it. Go back and reread your posts where you drag those 2 up at any opportunity so you can get more of your jibes in. YOur avatar is spot on, you are cartoon character who is out for vengence LOL

The worst thing about administration is that a certain element of the fan base will accept any sh*t served up with snail-paced progress because at least they've got a game to go to.

I for one was always confident the club would be saved. But this lack of progress is a living death, a coma for the club anyway.

Wow look at my thread go. Nearly 3 weeks and over 300 posts later and it's still up there.

Pity 99% of responses had nothing to do with the original question. At least thankfully that question is no longer relevant.

I don't know, we're still in the relegation zone so I guess the question still applies.

A manager can not be judged until he has been allowed to build his own team. As a result no judgement can be made until mid-way through next season.

Luckily the new owner is a successful businessman and will not make any hasty decisions based upon a difficult period when rebuilding the club from top to bottom.

Well Eddie came close

There is more chance of me winning the lottery and ****ging Lucy Pinder on the way to pick up my winnings, pausing only to find the keys to a shiny new Aston Martin under my doormat alongside more keys made of gold to a new house bequeathed to me by an auntie I never knew I had but who had recommended to Angelina Jolie that she should get rid of Brad and go with me, than there is of Alan Pardew going to West Ham. In my opinion.

Could yet happen with the start Grant has made

If Pardew had been around for the last 3 matches as manager with the mostly weak-willed and unimaginative defeats, I might suggest we'd probably all have been fine with him being sacked.

Of course he wasn't, and him not being there must be regarded as a significant contributory factor to the terrible results, when his record in the previous games was at least "middling".

Anyone else heard pardew has an injunction to stop the truth of his sacking coming out ?

Certainly looks like there is some sort of confidentiality agreement on both sides.

If THAT is the case then a great deal can be implied. It certainly puts the events of the past weeks in context and also (again) makes the few with "aggressively anti-anything agendas" in their place.

At Swindon on Saturday someone normally reliable told me that he (AP) has lodged a tribunal.

The LMA have been strangely quiet though. Normal practise is to defend their members publically when they have been unfairly dismissed.
