John B Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 we are not sh*t, our manager doesn't know his arse from his elbow. That's the problem. And as none of our directors know their arses from their elbows footballing wise we are totally f*cked. Probably very true I was put that theory forward earlier in the week. We cant sack Pardew really because what is the alternative Four Managers in nine months ridiculous?
benjii Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 We had chances at 2-1, we missed them. They scored a belter at the end. It happens. Get over it. Everyone was banging on about what a stern test Bristol would be before the match. How in form they were. How most predicted a draw. Well, now we've lost what sounded like an excellent game to a last minute belter people start the usual hysterical ****e. Constructive criticism is great but the wailing, girls-blouses on here are hard to stomach sometime.
benjii Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 I feel as empty as the tin man from the Wizard of Oz. Basically, it's either: A) The squad's just not good enough, or; B) Pardew just isn't good enough. We should be coasting just below mid-table by now, but we are just blithely plodding along and I am starting to get concerned. I concede, Rovers are a good side but I think we have a very good group of players too and we are starting to look in need of fresh ideas and impetus. - that's the explanation for any defeat is it? saint1977 Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 Pardew needs 3 points on Saturday and a convincing win or time for an urgent change. 1 win in 10 is pathetic even in the circumstances. We are going to League 2 if we don't bring in some decent loan players and some leaders. I was at Carlisle on Saturday and whilst we played decent stuff at times, something is not right within the chemistry of the squad. Every game is now a Cup Final. gaz Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 I hate to say it relegation form. Rovers are a good side at the moment though. Thats an odd sentance. The second part explains the loss, but its hardly unexpected. Bristol have dropped 8 points out of a possible 30. Top three in the league. To get two past them is an achievement. I just wonder why fans are acting like we expect to stuff everyone 4-0, then get overdramatic and call for sackings when it doesn't happen. badgerx16 Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 The usual car-crash b**locks served up by SFC. Does that mean we can start of the discussion about speed limits again, because there is little point in finding anything positive to say about the football. 10 games in and only 1 win. The only possible good thing is that we are still 10 points behind 20th, so that gap has not got any worse. When are we allowed to start complaining that it isn't good enough ? Stu Man Do Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 Obviously listening to the radio isnt as good as seeing it happen but sounded to me that Mills came on and did diddly why oh why can we not just use a quality winger in Holmes. Amazes me how we fall to pieces so easily under pressure from sounding world beaters before the 2nd equaliser to then barely getting a touch! Serious issues with our team at the moment but the manager needs to take a long hard look at his decisions when it comes to subs and tactics! Its a forum, for open discussion, we lost, we have 1 win all season and a manager stating promotion is a 'long shot, but still a possibility' so sorry for not being happy having been twice in the lead at home to lose a game in the 94th minute and still being in minus points at the end of September
Ash Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 No excuses on ere now then? So it seems TDD, Alps, Glasgow Saint, John B and *cough* me were right to be questioning the results, the manager and the tactics? You can't cherry pick opinions and argue with them as the general consensus. You can't treat the whole board like one ****ing **** bag for you to prove you were right all along with. You can't keep turning relatively banal discussions into I (we) told you so.

Saint Billy Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 Lets face it, despite all the optimism of a new owner, new manager etc, the actual team are still as crap as they have ever been. I dont think enough money has been spent on this side to be good enough to escape relegation let alone a mid table outfit. There are no excuses now, we have the funds, we are debt free, we have a great stadium and training facilities, and we are still S H I T E ! CanadaSaint Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 Amidst all the wrist-slashing, let's just remember that one player changed what sounded like an otherwise-balanced game. We competed well against a top three team. I'd like to hear from AP why we weren't ready for Williams, even though his arrival was entirely predictable. Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 29 September, 2009 Share Posted 29 September, 2009 Same old ****. Beaten again in the last minute. How can this keep happening? If it was the same team that kept conceeding in the last minute then you could do something to address it, but this is a completely different team & manager in a completely different league. As long as I've been a Saints fan we've always conceeded late on I'm seriously beginning to wonder if Pardew is the right man for the task ahead. On paper we've got a decent squad, so why do we seem to be incapable of winning games? There must be something wrong with the coaching or management.
