Soggy Bottom Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Would like to see Holmes and Waigo start. AP has asked for more movement from the forwards to create Lambert more space, sound like a start for Papa
View From The Top Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 I'm teaching a PTLLS course until 21.00 so my season ticket and my nippers will not be used. Also a bugger keeping up to date with the scores.
offix Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Rover are flying high. I'll take 1 point to get us back to zero.
Andy_Porter Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Davis Thomas - Jaidi - Trottman - Harding Lallana - James - Hammond - Mills Waigo - Lambert Quite a solid looking team, always got Saga and Holmes on the bench who can change the game quite a bit. Always nice to have decent options coming off the bench, that was one of our biggest problems at the start of the season now we have decent cover all over the pitch apart from goal really.
SFC Forever Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 They have been banging in the goals for fun lately. RL has hardly been missed.
SFC Forever Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Just about to leave home(Salisbury) on route to game. Hope we can really give the team some good vocal support.
hamster Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Just thought I'd share a bit of a heads up about Rover's loanee Chris Dickson. Apparently one to watch. Gillingham were trying their hardest to sign him over the summer, with a view to using him as replacement for the outgoing Simeone Jackson. Alas Charlton put up lots of obstacles as they hate dealing with Scally. I believe that Mark Stimson is a good and wily manager and if he wanted Dickson the he should be a real good prospect. Even in the loan window The Gills persevered, but again The Latics stood firm, eventually letting him go out to Rovers as a compromise. http://gillingham.clubfans.co.uk/ Apparently since the behind the scenes wranglings Paul Scally has stated that he WILL NOT have any dealings with Charlton Athletic unless it is absolutely unavoidable. dune Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Just gonna nip down Ladbrokers and put £50 on a Saints win. We're gonna click tonight and win in style.
beavis17 Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Davis Thomas - Jaidi - Trottman - Harding Lallana - James - Hammond - Mills Waigo - Lambert Quite a solid looking team, always got Saga and Holmes on the bench who can change the game quite a bit. Always nice to have decent options coming off the bench, that was one of our biggest problems at the start of the season now we have decent cover all over the pitch apart from goal really. i'm pretty sure schneiderlin will start, i thought he was arguably our best player saturday, really busting a gut to get back and cover especially for lloyd james.
John B Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 If I continue saying we will win One day I will be right. Mind you this is the first home match that I have not been that confident of winning. 2 0 to the Saints

Agree - I'd go with Andy's team but wth Morgan replacing Lloydy. And if it's not going well, get Holmes on early doors. As has been said on this site before, Morgan played some of his best footie for us when he had Holmes hugging the touchline as an outlet for his passing.
THEVMAN Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Team news is roughly same set up as saturday but Papa is in for Mills.
Um Bongo Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Rovers are one of the better teams in the divison - Even without Lambert. Hopefully they will come to attack and we can score a few. Davis Thomas Jaidi Trotman Harding Lallana Hammond Schneiderlin Mills/Holmes Lambert Papa
Thedelldays Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 how much is a ticket tonight? 25 quid by the half way line - ooooh, bargain
saint_stevo Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 (edited) 25 quid by the half way line - ooooh, bargain F*ck that. Still not even sure its viable for me to sit there for that long at the moment, and not sure the disabled section has much of an atmosphere..............? Edited 29 September, 2009 by saint_stevo

del boy Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Lambert will score , it is written I think that rule only counts for people leaving Saints
Secret Site Agent Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Gonna say 2-1 to us. Got to break this stupid funk of ours. I am stuck in bloody Luton at work and won't even be able to listen to it, let alone go.
trousers Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Disappointing to see that the match day warm up thread isn't a sticky tbh
John B Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 (edited) Team Saints: Davis, James, Jaidi, Trotman, Harding, Mellis, Hammond, Schneiderlin, N'Diaye, Lambert, Lallana. Subs: Forecast, Mills, Saganowski, Perry, Wotton, Holmes, Lancashire Similar to most peoples ideas I would have thought Still little width with no wingers playing Edited 29 September, 2009 by John B
O_RLY Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Glad Papa is starting....hoping he has a good game. Head says 2-1 to Bristol...heart say reverse.
SuperMikey Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 Interesting, do you think AP is playing a 4-3-3 with Lallana, Lambert and Papa up front? Or maybe he's playing Lallana or Papa on the left flank.. Oh, and also, ANY RADIO LINKS!?

Can't he even make the bench now?
saint_stevo Posted 29 September, 2009 Posted 29 September, 2009 What's happened to Paterson? Can't he even make the bench now? Saga sub striker Pato to go on loan to Accrington
slickmick Posted 30 September, 2009 Posted 30 September, 2009 Got a bad felling about this one. The corner will not be turned just yet. Its going to be a struggle to stay up this year. I'll back this up by saying we wont beat Gillingham either. We are nearly a quater of the way through the season and are still having difficulty in the final third. If things don't change soon our performances will start getting worse like they did last season. I've seen nothing yet that suggests things will get better.
chichestergas Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Cant believe I missed your post on this Alks! I did however give you plenty of stick on facebook lol

RonManager Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 This is the thread for the league game vs. Rovers in Sept! Welcome back old buddy... Recycle, recycle, recycle.
RonManager Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 I have just rung the club and been told that any unclaimed tickets will travel up on the bus. However, no assurances could be given as to what time the bus would arrive and knowing Bristol traffic like we locals do, there is a possibility that there will be a lot of people trying to get their tickets from the Memorial Stadium ticket office, possibly close to kick off time. With this in mind, I am going to take a day off tomorrow and go to SMS and pick mine up. It's called 'peace of mind'.
DT Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Big game for us. Win and we really have turned the corner taking 7 points from last 9 on offer and taking 9 from 15 in the whole month of september. Which would have us 3rd in the table for that month. Lose and it would be 6 from 15 in that month. Which would have us 9th. So while it marks only our 10th game it must now be said after this game that the season is no longer "new". The team has had time with the manager and should all be familliar with one another. Bristol are a good team. 3rd in the table and joint top with Leeds on recent form. They have scored 14 goals and let in just 7. A well oiled group who are doing very well. It will be a tough game. If we assume that players are now fit i would go for --------------Davis------------ James---Jaidi---Trottman----Harding Lallana---Hammond---Morgan---Holmes ---------Waigo------Lambert----------- I think it will be a close game and a draw 1-1. I would take that. Erm. Isn't it an FA Cup tie?
SNSUN Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Erm. Isn't it an FA Cup tie? Check out the dates on the first post.
RonManager Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Erm. Isn't it an FA Cup tie? Well, you see, this is what happens when we recycle old threads, it leads to mass or in your case, singular, confusion.
krissyboy31 Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 I think the Mods should close this thread because it is getting confusing.
